Special Story.

A tall man standing straight in front of the tomb with the written name ‘Zhi Ling’.

He put a bouquet of flower at the tomb. He kneel and said with a sad tone in his voice.

“Do you remember the first time we met? I was so dirt and skinny back then. And you were so…annoying I guess?” he chuckle and continued again.

“You try to be my hero back then. You were always there for me in the long years we’ve been together. Did you get your dreamy life, Ling?”

“I hope, we still can meet in another life if there is one. I still want to be your knight, your protector, your friend and your everything.” his corner of his eyes show a bit trace of his tear that he have been hold up.

He still remember the first day they met. It was in the drought town at the North of the country.

He was orphanage and only had a dog as his guardian. One day he go and strolling around the market try to find something to eat in the street.

While his eyes keep looking at the dumpling, he didn’t focus at the front and bump into a little girl.

“Ouch!!” she yelled.

He did not say anything and just walk pass by her. But before he could walk far from her, she take off her shoes and throw to him

“Take that! How does it feel? Hurt?” she asked.

Turned his body around, he glare at her.

“Stupid girl!” he bend his body and take her shoes. Aim at the girl, he throw back the shoes to her head.

Zhi Ling on the other hand were trying to hold up her tears, but when the boy throw back her shoes to her head, she cried out loud.

“It hurt, stupid!!!”

She crying, while the boy already run away. The boy was so dirty with the mud on his face and his shirt also look so shabby. Despite that the boy had a cute face, his attitude was so rude! It made Zhi Ling was so angry.

She take back her shoes and wear it again. She actually has been separate with her family not long before. She was strolling at the market while her father had a deal business at the weird and dark place. She doesn’t like being there and she decide to go out to the market alone without her father knowing.

She thought she know the way back but she was totally lost her track. With a lot of people around her and noise sound they make, she couldn’t find the way back. Luckily she had a bag of money that her father gave to her before they coming here.

She stand still in front of sweet bun stall. She stare at the steamy bun, when she want to move she caught a glimpse of the boy from earlier.

He also look at the same direction as her, seeing his drooling face, she decide to buy the sweet bun.

She slowly approach him.

“Here! Eat this.”

“No. I don’t want to.” the boy refuse and walk away from her.

‘growl~~’

His stomach make a sound that made him embarrass.

Zhi Ling approach him again and this time she’s a bit angry.

“Eat this, stupid! Or else, you will die!” she shove him the bun.

Seeing her eager face, he take the bun and eat it vigorously.

He hasn’t eaten for about two days now. He has been working at the quarry with a cheap pay.

A week ago, he had a fight with other boy from the quarry and he had been punished by not getting any pay for a week.

Since he had a dog, all his pay before he used to buy his dog food. Until the last two day, he totally does not have any money to buy food for himself.

He has been eating any leftover from restaurant bin and sometime he will steal the food from the stall.

“What is your name?” Zhi Ling asked the boy.

“Ang..”

“Ang??”

“Why are you looking so dirty?”

“Because I’m poor.”

“Oh..so sad..”

They eat the bun silently. Before she go, she give the boy a few money with hundred figure on it.

“Here. Use it to buy some food. You so skinny.” she shove him a money and fled away from the small alley near the market.

He looked at the money and put it into his pocket before he walk out from the alley.

He buy some food for his dog, and on the way to back to his place, he did not notice that Zhi Ling following him from behind.

Actually, she doesn’t know anyone from the town and she just met with the boy. She thought maybe she can use his help to find her father again.

When he almost reach to his house, suddenly he heard a whimpering sound near the cliff. He thought that the whimpering sound, sound familiar to him.

He run to the cliff and saw a bunch of kid currently beating his dog. And his dog has been injured badly. The dog body was covered with a blood, the dog can barely move.

He furiously run to the bunch of the boy from the village to beat them up. While Zhi Ling also shocked with what she has seen.

She go to the dog and look at the wound on the dog body. She take out some ointment from her bag and apply it on the dog wound.

“Please don’t die Mr. Dog.” she already sobbing when seeing the dog was in a great pain.

Meanwhile, Ang was being surrounded by the bullies and he had been beaten too by the large group of the boy. They see that Ang beat one of his brother then he return back to the village and bring some other bigger kid to beat him back.

Not long after, the dog died in her arm. She keep crying. When she looked at her back, she saw that the boy also has been beaten black and blue. She lay down the dog and grab some stick at her side.

She run to the group and sway her stick.

“Don’t kill him! Don’t kill him!”

One of the boy grab her hand and looked at her face.

“This girl is cute. She must be rich. Look at her dress! All pink!”

She wiggle her body try to release his grip on her hand.

“Let go! Let go of me!” she shouted.

“Ha Ha..why would I let go of you?” they boy from the village mocking her.

“My father will kill you if you do something bad to me!”

“Who is your father?”

“My father is underworld master!”

“Like I believe you!”

He dragged her to the nearby bush. A few boys also follow him from behind.

Only five other boys was guarding Ang and keep beating him up.

He saw the little girl being dragged to the bush, he knew what will happen to the little girl later.

He gather his last energy and try to get up. He used his remain power to beat up those boys who guarding him.

After that, he run to the bush and beat up the remain culprit. Luckily he was early, the boy from village only manage to tear her dress.

After all of the boys he beat up already unconscious, he looked at the girl face and turned his gaze to her clothes that has been rip off.

“So flat!”

“Of course it flat stupid!!” she throw her shoes again.

But this time, the boy take off his shirt and give to her.

“Wear this.” he handed her his shirt.

“Uh..no thank you! It’s dirty.” she refuse.

Retreat back his hand he said “Suit yourself”

He walk to his dog. His face show a sad expression. He wipe his corner of his eyes.

“Now, I’m totally alone.” he said slowly.

Zhi Ling hear his word. She feel a bit sorry for him.

She approach him and said to him. “It’s okay. You can be my friend, so that you’re not alone again.”

When she want to go closer to him, suddenly she hear her father voice.

“Zhi Ling!”

She turned his head and looked at her father figure.

“Father!” she run to her father.

Seeing his daughter’s dress has been tear up, he looked at the boy near them with a furious look.

He said to his subordinate, “Kill him!”

Shocked by what she heard, she immediately stop her father.

“Dad! No..He not doing anything to me! In fact, he save my life!”

Ang already been held by his father underling. He did not protess or make any move. He had no energy to fight again.

Zhi Long turned his gaze to the boy. The boy looked like he has been beaten black and blue.

With a firm voice, he asked.

“How many men did you fight before?”

“Thirty.” he said.

Zhi Long was surprised. He looked at the surrounding, indeed, a large of a group boys has been lying on the ground unconscious.

“What is your name?”

“Ang..Ang Lu.”

“How old are you?”

“Twelve.”

“Did you have any family?”

“No.”

“That’s good. Bring him.” his first intention is to make Ang Lu as his assassin and trained him to be his great warrior.

But,Zhi Ling pull his hand to looked at her.

“Father, I want him as my knight!” she show a determined face.

He looked at his daughter.

“A knight?”

“Yes. I want him to be my knight.”

“But..”

“Please father…I want him.. I want him..” she start to crying.

Zhi Long very loved Zhi Ling, so he nodded his head after some time.

“Ok ok..he’ll be your knight. But he must be trained to be good enough to protect you.”

“Ok. Then let him stay with me. I will make sure he train well.”

Zhi Long nodded his head. After that, Zhi Long has provide Ang Lu with a lot of resources. He change Ang Lu name as Grim Reaper to make sure that his enemy will be scared when they heard the name and the rumor.

He raised him as his daughter knight and protector. Zhi Ling also look very happy when she was with the boy.

When Zhi Ling was 17, he accompany her to her ball night. They were dancing together under the dim light.

“Hey, if may I know, did you ever fall in love with me?” he asked her.

“Pffftt..Hahaha.. no. Never. Why?” she laugh with his question.

He still not showing any reaction on his face.

“Well, that’s good. Because when you were kid, you so flat. And even now, I still didn’t see any improvement. Who is your unlucky partner? Hmm.. I wonder.”

Upon hearing that, she pinch his arm hard.

“Say that again?”

“Flat.”

Feeling angry, she stomp her feet on his.

“Mad?” he asked.

“Why would I? I’m not going to be your girlfriend after all.” she said with a plain voice.

“Well, of course you’re not. I already had a girlfriend. But, you will always be my ‘weak princess’ that I need to protect.”

“Urgh..fine! I’ll find someone that can protect me later! Humph!”

She already let go of his hand and walk to the seat.

He just slightly smile seeing her angry face.

“Very well, I still keep my promise and I will make sure everything will be alright in the future, my ‘weak princess’.”

He walk out from the tomb and drive out from the cemetery.
