100 years before Divorce - Chapter 213
While Guan Xian’s wound is not too severe, Pang Ze Tian was battling with her life in an operation room. Xia Sha finds Xia Xiang crying on the floor as she looked at the closed door. Among her, there are two policemen with blank expressions guarding the entrance.
“Xia Xiang,” Xia Sha called her name as she took a seat next to her.
Xia Xiang could not see clearly because of the brimming tears before her eyes. But she recognized Xia Sha’s voice as she
“Tell me what to do? How to save my mom?” Xia Xiang shirk. Her heart felt so painful that she cannot let out a sobbed out from her throat.
“She will be alright. She will be just fine,” Xia Sha’s voice comes out strained as she tried to comfort Xia Xiang when she felt uneasy herself. She extended her hand and patted Xia Xiang’s back hesitantly.
Xia Xiang’s eyes brimmed with tears as Xia Sha’s awkward warmness make her recall all the things her mother had done to Xia Sha and her family. Xia Xiang got ashamed of the hatred she used to have for Xia Sha in the past.
“Xia Sha, I know this is a selfish and shameless request. But can you forgive my mother? Please don’t do anything to her, just let her stay in jail, but please-”
Xia Xiang could not bring herself to finished her shameless request, but Xia Sha understands her. She lowered her head and pressed her lips into a thin line. Her hands keep patting Xia Xiang’s back, but a flash of coldness sparked in her eyes.
“I know it’s unfair, but life is unfair for her too-”
Xia Xiang raised her head and stopped as soon as she sees Xia Sha’s stoic expression. She closed her lips and swallowed back the words she wanted to said.
“I’m not a fair person. I could not promise you the things that you wanted. But I’ll think about it,” Xia Sha replied plainly, as she watched Xia Xiang’s averting her gaze from her.
Xia Sha didn’t give the certainty that Xia Xiang wished for, but there are rays of hope that grow inside her heart. Xia Xiang suddenly grasped Xia Sha’s hand and pulled her into a hug. The sudden closeness surprised Xia Sha that she almost wanted to push her away.
“Thank You,” Xia Xiang’s gentle whisper stops Xia Sha’s hand from hanging in the air.
“Thank you for staying here with me.”
Xia Xiang’s words sound simple- yet sincere. It weighed down on Xia Sha’s heart heavily. In the end, she let Xia Xiang hugged her until the doctor come out of the operation room.
“We manage to save the patient. But a small piece of glass got into her eyes and tore her cornea. Further precise diagnosis would be needed after when she woke up.”
“WHAT? Tore her cornea? Could it be healed?” Xia Sha widens her eyes. Her voice comes out shaking as she recalled the moment where Xia Qi Feng broke the glass vase.
“Further diagnosis could be made after she woke up,” the doctor repeated his last sentence with a monotonous voice. He looks exasperated as he slightly bows his body before he walks away.
Xia Xiang’s heart drop, her grips on Xia Sha become tighter as she swallowed her saliva.
“It’s okay. My mother would be fine. She would be alright,” Xia Xiang mumbles as she tried to toughen her heart.
As long as her mom did not leave her alone in this world, Xia Xiang was grateful and knew that she would be alright.

The news travels fast to the Xia Manor, where Xia Qi Feng watch over three people left on his manor. But they transferred to another place. Xia Qi Feng figured out that the living room was
Sitting still in a chair with a double rope around their body, they look uncomfortable when Xia Qi Feng walked past them with a long shotgun in his hand.
“So, other than the things you’ve mentioned, and attempt to kill my daughter before. What else have you done?” Xia Qi Feng asked without looking at them. He carefully looks at Wen Rou through the scope on the gun.
“Nothing! Nothing! I have nothing to do with this crazy conspirator. Xia Qi Feng, let me go!” He Jin Nan shouted in terror. He is trembling in his seat. Sweat started to form in his palm and forehead.
BANG! Clink! Clink!
The crack voice of thunder makes people around them jolted. Wen Du Jiao furrowed his eyebrow at Xia Qi Feng and squirms. He clenched his jaw and tirelessly shouted, “Xia Qi Feng! I am pretty sure this is illegal!”
“Uncle, please, If we go to the police station right now, I’m sure you would get arrested first before Uncle Xia! Uncle Xia, carry on,” Ji Cun Xi cheered for Xia Qi Feng from the back.
He sees Xia Qi Feng in a new light ever since Xia Qi Feng ordered people to move Wen Du Jiao, Wen Rou, and He Jin Nan to the backyard and invited him to his gun room. Ji Cun Xi never expected Xia Sha’s father would be this cool! If he knew this sooner, he also wanted to befriend Xia Sha.
“Hmph! Do you think I’m a coward like you? Even if I go to jail after killing you today, I would still find it worth it,” Xia Qi Feng sneers as he aimed at Wen Rou’s head while adapting his hand on the trigger.
“DON’T! WEN ROU, QUICK SPEAK UP! WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Wen Du Jiao panicked because Xia Qi Feng did not seems to bluff at all. His serious expression constantly makes Wen Du Jiao’s heart stop beating because of worry.
“We are going to die anyway, might as well keep this secret to the grave,” Wen Rou threw away her face from her father and raised her eyebrow at Xia Qi Feng.
“You think you could make me speak up? Over my dead body!” Wen Rou smirked before she spat on the floor.
Ji Cun Xi almost dropped his jaw when he sees Wen Rou’s attitude. He suspected that there weren’t any undamaged nerve cells in Wen Rou’s mind. Ji Cun Xi shook his head and turned to Wen Du Jiao with a dubious gaze.
“Is this how you teach your daughter? Are you sure you love her? You are raising a beast!”
Ji Cun Xi’s judgemental words hit Wen Du Jiao hard. Too hard that Wen Rou suddenly chuckled at her father. She nodded her head, agreeing with Ji Cun Xin’s remarks.
“Yeah, he does raise a monster. He made me believe that I could own everything that I wished for in my life because I am his daughter. I grew out thinking I am the most important princess in the world. Then suddenly, BOOM! Everything vanished! Because of what? Because of Xia Sha!” Wen Rou was gritting her teeth as she tells her story.
“Are you sure it’s not because of Xiao Ni? I don’t think Xia Sha is capable of-” Ji Cun Xi’s words got cut by Xia Sha’s fiery replies.
“Shut up! That is because Xia Sha decided to be a busy body and helped that ugly fat girl! Would my father get fired if not by her? Would I get dropped out of school and bullied by everyone in the US? I should not be an outsider if it’s weren’t for Xia Sha and Kai Xin!”
Wen Rou’s voice was steady, and those smiles remain on her face. She glances at Ji Cun Xi before she turned to Wen Du Jiao. She had her eyebrow raised in defying manners.
“Right, daddy? I should be cherished, loved, and respected by everyone. Because I am Wen Rou, I am Wen Du Jiao’s daughter. The process never mattered because what’s important is the outcome. As long as I win the game, As long as I get what I wanted- Everything.is.allowed.”
Wen Rou recites precisely the words Wen Du Jiao used to say to her in the past. It was mean to be a word of encouragement. Wen Rou used to be pick by other kids ever since she is a child. It was due to her competitive nature and boasting talking.
Wen Du Jiao can’t help it, his wife bought up Wen Rou that way, and he loves her too much to scold her. So instead of correcting her manner, he decided to put the blames on the others. At that time, he only wants to prevent his daughter’s heart get hurt.
Who would have known she-
“Wen Rou,” Wen Du Jiao’s voice was shaking as he called Wen Rou’s name in deep regret. He opens his mouth to said something, but before he could-
BANG!
Another shot of bullet had nested on Wen Rou’s chair legs.
“You guys talk too much. Do you think I care about your family drama? All I wanted to know is what have you done to my daughter? Do you think I would let you walk away without bearing the consequences? An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. My daughter might be too soft, but I am not. You dare to hurt my family, I’ll make sure I pay you as twice as pain.”
Xia Qi Feng’s voices were fulled of warning as he looks straight at Wen Rou. He looks even more intimidating when he vents his anger at Pang Ze Tian before. With a shotgun in his hand, he tried to repeat his question one last time.
“Now I want to ask you, what have you done to my daughter?”
