100 years before Divorce - Chapter 236
“Tang Yu Bin, did you pass the Medical assessment before joining this company? If you do, you might want to check your eyes because I’m sure there is something wrong with your eyesight.”
Sometimes Guan Xian wonders why Tang Yu Bin could make such a good friend with Fu Qun. He never realized that they shared some familiar traits before.
“Look at the video! What kind of insult you are trying to imply here?!” Guan Xian almost let out a frustrated scream.
He double clicks on the paused video to zoom in on the person that walks inside the room with a woman.
“Look at this? How can you mistook this guy like me?!” Guan Xian uses his slender finger to point at the man’s shoes.
“Huh?”
–
“Huh? It’s not him?” Xia Sha raised her eyebrow while eating her cracker.
“There is no way my brother would use fake leathered shoes. Moreover, it’s his debut party. My mom would freak out!” Xiao Ni furrowed her eyebrow at Xia Sha.
The two of them leisurely sit on the couch as Xia Sha plays the video Ye Zhen Zhen send before.
“Make sense,” Xia Sha murmured as she zooms in on the man inside the video.
Xia Sha nods her head as she took a piece of thin cracker from the container that Xia Sha holds on her lap. Xia Sha realized the unusual gaze Xiao Ni had given to him. Xia Sha raised her eyebrow and directly asked Xiao Ni about it, “What?”
Xiao Ni went silent for a moment before she shook her head with a secretive smirk.
“Nothing,” Xiao Ni said, obviously lying.
“Just spat it out,” Xia Sha said indifferently without looking at Xiao Ni.
“It’s nothing. It’s just I didn’t expect that calm reaction to coming from you. Although Guan Xian never said anything about it, we all know you are more the protective type,” Xiao Ni let out the painful truth as she chews her crackers without making a sound.
Xia Sha stops chewing for a second as Xiao Ni’s words hit her down inside. Cleaning the crumble on the tip of her lips, Xia Sha tried to answer Xiao Ni.
“I can’t seem to believe everything Ye Zhen Zhen said, probably because you’ve warned me about her. So, thanks to you,” Xia Sha sincerely wanted to thank Xiao Ni.
Xia Sha didn’t dare to admit her fears to Xiao Ni. The truth is, she is far from calm the moment she sees the video. Xia Sha’s nature as a woman is to went into rage mode when she sees her fiancee’s soon-to-be husband went into a hotel room with another woman that is attracted to him.
As Xiao Ni said, Xia Sha is well known for her ‘dark side’ as a protective girlfriend. She could blame Xia Qi Feng for the trust issues, but Xia Sha knew her expectation toward her partner could be frustrating sometimes. And part of her always felt guilty for her behavior.
Xia Sha demanded Xiao Zhan limit his contact with another girl when they were together. As the story goes, we knew that it only works out in the beginning. Right after Xiao Zhan gained Xia Sha’s trust, he went and crushed her heart.
It was painful. After all, it’s Xia Sha’s first heartbreak, but her relationship with Xiao Zhan left her with an important lesson.
The lesson that she tried to imply when she started a relationship with Ling Guang. Xia Sha tried not to be a control freak and gave Ling Guang freedom. Another fairytale beginning and disaster ending.
Everyone knew how obnoxious she had become because she tried to repress her feeling. Xia Sha is not that stupid and dense to not realized Guan Xian’s weird changes. She knew something is amiss with Meng Ran and Ling Guang, but she fools herself, again and again, only so she wouldn’t repeat her same mistake with Xiao Zhan.
Both experiences left her trauma, leaving her all confuse when she decided to be with Guan Xian. Xia Sha doesn’t know what to do. Forget that! Xia Sha doesn’t even have a clue how to act to be Guan Xian’s girlfriend.
“Honestly, sometimes, I don’t know how to react,” Xia Sha subconsciously let out her dilemma to Xiao Ni. Xia Sha only realized she had exposed herself in front of her future sister-in-law.
She bites her tongue and averted her gaze from Xiao Ni that looking at her with dazzling eyes.
Xia Sha blinked several times, trying to run away from Xiao Ni’s demanding-for-explanation- gaze. But there might be something behind Guan’s family brown eyes. Xiao Ni’s eyes make Xia Sha unable to resist her eagerness.
“Your brother, he is too good to be true. I sometimes think he is a mirage that only appears inside my imagination. He understands how to treat me that sometimes I didn’t felt I have a right to be jealous. Am I weird? Can you understand?” Xia Sha’s lips curled into a sad smile as she turns to Xiao Ni.
Xiao Ni lowered her gaze, seeming to think for a moment before she said, “I do understand. I might also felt the same way as you.”
Xiao Ni’s surprising answer got Xia Sha turned to her right away. She put away the container of crackers on the coffee table as she makes herself facing Xiao Ni.
The couch left a big spacious space for the two of them to seat, but looking at each other, Xia Sha felt no dividing line between her and Xiao Ni.
“I could tell you are anxious because he has been treating you right all this time, and we knew we should never trust the man. Although we tried to be positive every time, there is that small pessimistic whisper in the dark corner of our hearts.”
Xiao Ni’s narration hit Xia Sha on the spot. She could help but nodding her head frantically as she added, “Be prepared to get hurt. You know the honeymoon phase won’t last forever. Those sentences repetitively haunted me every time Guan Xian did something sweet.”
A giggle escapes from Xiao Ni’s mouth as she agreed with Xia Sha’s words.
“I knew it makes you guilty when you naturally felt suspicious although he did nothing but treat you like a queen, right? My brother’s reputation as a womanizer isn’t helping him either,” Xiao Ni giggles again.
Xia Sha smiles as she leans her back to the couch. She looks helpless, showing Xiao Ni that her ‘accusations weren’t wrong.
“Well, I might be biased, but I could tell my brother isn’t playing around with you, and the reason why he treats you with so much care is probably that he also had a trauma himself.”
Xiao Ni’s sentence makes Xia Sha forgot how to breathe for a moment. Her chest was expanding as she looks at Xiao Ni with disbelief.
“You-”
“I knew? Yes, I knew.”
Xiao Ni’s answer makes Xia Sha shut her mouth completely. As if the table had turned, the sad smile on Xia Sha’s face before jumped into Xiao Ni.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t know that you knew,” Xia Sha mumbles as she looks at Xiao Ni with a guilty expression.
Xia Sha didn’t understand why she felt this way, but as far as she had been with Guan Xian, she knew that Guan Xian had always been cautious with Xiao Ni’s heart. And as far as she knew, Xiao Ni wasn’t supposed to know about her father’s scandal.
“Hehehe, why do you look so guilty. It’s so obvious. I’m just playing dumb to make it less awkward for everyone,” Xiao Ni’s bright smiles washed away her sad face before.
“Come on. I’m not that sensitive over a solved problem. Chill out. You look like you had entered a lion den.”
“…”
Xia Sha was too speechless to say anything. It’s only after a few moments she realized Xiao Ni had played her. She forgot that Xiao Ni is an actress.
“Don’t worry. No one will kill you. My brother loves you too much to let you die.”
“Oh, shut up,” Xia Sha rolled her eyes.
“But seriously, my brother might have his trauma. It might be worse than mine,” Xiao Ni said after she chuckles at Xia Sha’s annoyed face.
“But his trauma is a good thing for me?” Xia Sha raised her eyebrow upon facing the big questions.
Xiao Ni shrugged her shoulder as she answers. A wide smile stretched over her lips as she cupped Xia Sha’s cheek.
“I don’t know, but to make it simple, I could guarantee that he won’t do anything stupid to deliberately hurt you.”
“How could you be so sure?” Xia Sha squinted her eyes at Xiao Ni.
Xiao Ni titled her head as she removes her hand from Xia Sha’s face.
“Well, it’s as simple as because he is Guan Xian, and he loves you so much.. Trust me, I know my brother.”
