100 years before Divorce - Chapter 239
“No, We won’t wait for him. Why should we?”
Xia Sha’s answer makes Hu Che raised his eyebrow as he looks at Xia Sha with interest.
“You feel annoyed, right?”
Hu Che looks hesitant to answer Xia Sha, but he indirectly implied that he felt the same as Xia Sha with his gaze.
“Perfect, I have a place to vent our frustration. I’ll take you there after this show finish!” Xia Sha cheers at the same time when the crowd claps their hand, stealing Hu Che’s attention back to the dolphin show.
But as Xia Sha had promised, she bought Hu Che to the place she refers to vent their frustration. It’s an afternoon at three when Xia Sha parked her car in a spacious light grey ground with an azure view of the blue sea.
Hu Che is quiet as they watch hand by hand to the sea. Though Xia Sha wants to know a piece of his opinion, she didn’t want to ruin the peaceful moments.
“This place is beautiful,” Hu Che mumbles as he played with sand in between this toes.
Xia Sha’s gentle smiles appeared when she heard Hu Che. As they are walking towards the sea, she said, “It is, but it couldn’t chase our irritation away just by looking, right?”
Xia Sha took a long, deep breath that her diaphragm turned flat. With a hand between her mouth, she is ready to shout.
“XIAO YU, YOU ROTTEN EGG!!! DID YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO DO OTHER THAN TRICKING ME?!”
“…?”
What? That is not Xia Sha’s screaming. It’s a man’s voice. A loud frustration roar, to be exact.
Xia Sha and Hu Che look at each other at the same time before they quietly retreat and decide to sit on the soft sands. They watch and hear plentiful cruse words as that man keeps angrily yell at the beach.
“Aunty, are you going to do what that man does?” Hu Che whisper without looking at Xia Sha. He fixed his eyes on the stranger uncle, who is kicking the sand right now.
Xia Sha pressed her lips into a thin line as a burst of heat turn her cheeks into red color.
“Although it looks… a little bit weird, the feeling afterward was liberating. It’s proven to be an effective way to regain our- sanity,” Xia Sha almost run out of words as she glances at Hu Che nervously.
“But that uncle looks like a mad man,” Hu Che’s lips twitched.
The second after Hu Che narrate his opinion, the ocean became calm. They couldn’t hear any curse words or even a sound from the madman, who is looking at them with a surprised face.
“!!!”
Hu Che covers his mouth with his chubby hand as he thought the uncle would scold him for calling him a mad man.
“Aunty, help me,” he mumbles as he moves closer to Xia Sha’s side.
“It’s okay, that uncle won’t hurt you,” Xia Sha whisper to Hu Che before she put on an innocent smile and raise her hand as an informal greeting to the man.
“Hi,” She said awkwardly.
The man looks confused and stunned when Xia Sha casually greets him with a smile. Instead of greets Xia Sha back, he began to shout again, “Xia Sha?! What are you doing here?!”
“With a child,” he wanted to add as he glances at the chubby boy that clings to Xia Sha. But upon realizing the resemblance of someone familiar in that boy’s face, he holds his tongue.
“We,” Xia Sha look at Hu Che on her right, “Me and Hu Che wanted to vent our frustration. You know, work and school stuff,” Xia Sha answers with an indifferent tone.
“Ah! Right, I need to introduce the two of you. Hu Che, this is uncle Xiao Zhan. Xiao Zhan, this is Hu Che, my nephew.”
Hu Che was fretting still when the man, look at him with a friendlier smile.
“Oh, Nice to meet you, Hu Che,” Xiao Zhan tried to act normal although his neck was boiling red.
Although Xia Sha could hide her expression well, Xiao Zhan could tell that they heard his screams from her kind greeting and Hu Che’s weird gaze.
“Nice to meet you, Uncle Xiao Zhan,” Hu Che tremble even though he had tried to speak in his usual tone.
Xiao Zhan sigh, “Since you two had heard me anyway, Can I finish my session?”
Xiao Zhan asked with a hopeless expression that makes Xia Sha couldn’t hold her giggles as she nods her head.
“Sure. Go on. I swear we will cover our ears,” Xia Sha reassure Xiao Zhan. Hu Che nods along as he covers his ears with his hand.
Xia Sha looked over Hu Che and followed his action.
Xiao Zhan got stunned by Xia Sha’s innocent gaze. It reminds him of the old Xia Sha, the carefree and happy Xia Sha. Like the old-time, Xia Sha could grin at him every time he opposed a stupid idea.
Xiao Zhan’s heart is thumping hard when he faces the ocean. A burgeoning sense of uneasiness started to fill his chest, and so, he uses the chance to scream more curse words.
“F*CKING XIAO YU! SELFISH *ASSH*L*E, YOU RUINED MY LIFE! WHAT KIND OF BROTHER DID THAT? NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO USE MY NAME AS AN EXCUSE, I’LL CHOP YOUR BODY INTO MEATBALLS!”
Xia Sha and Hu Che’s jaw dropped with hand still covering their ears. Xia Sha didn’t expect Xiao Zhan to still cruse now that he knew Hu Che was hearing him.
Why did she underestimate Xiao Zhan’s inconsiderate and shameless traits?
Xia Sha decided to cover Hu Che’s ear for extra protection. She didn’t want to tarnish Hu Che’s vocabulary.
When Xiao Zhan runs out of breath, he jogged back and decided to sit next to Hu Che. Both Xia Sha and Hu Che were wearing stupified faces, but Xiao Zhan was too embarrassed to talk about it. Instead of focusing on his indecency action, he turns to Hu Che with a playful smile.
“Little friend, do you want to try? Shouting to the ocean liberates you from the hideous and suffocating feelings without hurting other people. It doesn’t matter if you call them dog or pig. They wouldn’t know.”
Xia Sha: “…”
Hu Che regains his composure and looks at Xiao Zhan with an unimpressed face. The fear inside his soul evaporated the moment he realized the uncle wasn’t so bright. Nobody would know, but his aunty is here, she would know!
Xia Sha clear her throat the moment she realized the cold aura coming from the little buddy. She decided to stand from her seat and take Hu Che along with her.
“Since Uncle Xiao Zhan had finished, it’s our time. Come on, let’s call out those who bully us!” Xia Sha said excitedly, running to the ocean like a carefree child.
“GUAN XIAN! I THOUGHT WE ARE GETTING MARRY TOGETHER, WHY DID YOU LEAVE EVERYTHING TO ME? YOU MAKE ME DECIDE AND TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING! AT THIS POINT, I WILL MARRY MYSELF!” Xia Sha screams from the top of her lung as she vents her stress about her wedding.
Although she never complains to Guan Xian about her packed schedule, Xia Sha finds it’s overwhelming to plan her wedding without his presence. They did hire a wedding organizer to help, but there is always a part of Xia Sha that got irritated the moment she needs to attend the meeting alone. However, she also knew Guan Xian only left her for urgent matters.
The fusion of irritation and worry was confusing. Xia Sha was glad she could push out all the lump in her throat.
“Hah, that’s felt great,” Xia Sha looks relieved as she turns to Hu Che with assuring time.
“Do you want to do it?”
Her gentle push got Hu Che to bite his lips in hesitation. His brown eyes look forward to the glazing ocean before turning at Xia Sha.
“But, the uncle will hear-” Hu Che mumbles as he steals glances at Xiao Zhan.
“Look, he also covers his ears,” Xia Sha answers while chuckling when he sees Xiao Zhan’s dumbfounded face.
Hu Che rolls his eyes. He knew the uncle would hear his scream even though he covers his ears well. But, well, forget it, what can that uncle do anyway?
“MOM! DAD! WHY DID YOU DELIVER ME TO THIS WORLD IF YOU DON’T WANT ME? MY HEART HURTS EVERY TIME YOU FOUGHT JUST BECAUSE NONE OF YOU WANT TO COME TO MY SCHOOL SHOWCASE. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I WISH THE COMPANY TO DISAPPEAR? I KNEW IT’S A CHILDISH AND SELFISH THING TO SAY, CAN’T I WISH FOR YOUR TIME? EVEN JUST FOR A MOMENT?”
The fire in Hu Che’s eyes was burning when he screams against the roaring sea. His little body is trembling as he let out the fury that has piles upon his heart ever since he could understand things.
“I KNEW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION. I KNEW THAT I SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AND OBEDIENT. EVEN THOUGH I’M NOT SATISFIED WITH YOUR ANSWER, I STILL TRY TO BE A GOOD BOY FOR YOU TWO. BUT WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO SEPARATE? AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH?”
Tears were falling on Hu Che’s cheek as he took a sharp breath.. He looks at the magnificent skies as he wipes away his tears and said, “I promise to be better. Can you two not leave me?”
