“Open new store?” Kang San Hai was surprised when he heard what Lei Xing Yi said. Taking the document, he scanned it for a moment then nodded. “Just give me one or two assistants and I’ll settle this. However, I can’t say for sure that I’ll be able to get it within the budget.”

“Just try. I can handle it if you add a few thousands more.”

“Alright.”

Yu Yan listened from the side and shook her head. “You already thought which one you want to buy?”

“Well, my secretary already did the investigation for almost all store that nearly closed down in many parts of the city. I only need your advice to determine which one will be the most suitable one.” Lei Xing Yi grinned.

“That’s good.”

Kang San Hai grinned. “Ooh, so Cousin Yu Yan’s position is as an advisor while I’m your errand boy?”

“Come on, I’ll introduce you to my classmates later.”

“Deal, make sure that they’re all pretty.”

Lei Xing Yi resisted the urge to throw the folder beside her to her cousin. This was one of their private deal in which Kang San Hai would help her out while she helped him to get acquaintance with her pretty classmates.

Yu Yan nearly burst out laughing. “Anyway, any recent news from your side, San Hai?”

“Well, my bro will hold his engagement party in March. He wants you two to attend it.”

“Party again?” Yu Yan internally groaned. But thinking about the fact that party was the method for those in the upper class society to meet with each other, she resisted her scowl.

However, she still nodded. “I’ll make time for the engagement party. Tell me the dress code beforehand.”

“Sure, I’ll tell you when they have decided on it.”

Lei Xing Yi was surprised. “Sure, I’ll make some time to come. I heard that your sister in law is pretty. Make sure that you don’t hit on her, Cousin Kang San Hai.”

Lei Xing Yi’s hand paused for a moment before she looked up to meet with her cousin’s look. The corner of her lips curled up. “Even if they try to court, the end result will not end well.”

“That’s true, but do you not mind having both of your parents serve in prison?” Kang San Hai scratched the back of his head. In his opinion, it was totally not a good thing for one’s parent to enter the prison.

However, the only reason why he thought that way was because his parents were naturally good to him. They cared for him and didn’t let him suffer any mishap whatsoever. Thus, he didn’t have any problem to be filial to them.

Even if their request was sometimes a bit… unreasonable, he would still follow them since he knew that they only asked with him in their heart.

But it was different for Lei Xing Yi, who knew that her parents never cared for her. “I don’t mind.”

“Oh. Right, Kang Mao Yao is also suspected of conning other people since the funds she used to party often come from unknown source.” Kang San Hai recalled what his father told him just yesterday.

Kang Xie Jing didn’t have any problem sharing some things to his son. Thanks to this habit of his, his children would usually know some matters which they usually didn’t pay attention to.

He also shared them so that they would know about the matters that was ongoing around them. After all, Kang San Hao was often away because of his mission while Kang San Hai fooled around a lot. “I’m not surprised.” Lei Xing Yi’s tone was cold as she focused her attention to the documents in front of her.

Kang San Hai obviously detected the coldness. He felt chills running down his spine, so he turned to look at Yu Yan, clearly wanting for her to help him out.

However, Yu Yan merely passed an apologetic look. When it came to Lei Xing Yi’s feelings to her parents, she couldn’t say anything. She would only back out and try not to poke the hornet nest.
