5th Rated God - Volume 1 Chapter 16 Regenerate Destroy
The man flew with outstanding nimbleness and his flying sandal’s wings were constantly flapping. He flew in unpredictable patterns and continued to shoot golden arrows that manifested the moment he drew his bow.
It was the divine gear that was blessed by Apollos and his brother, Hermes! The Hydra immediately knew the origin of sandals and bow. It was blessed by the very beings he detested! They were the very same beings that made his kind into target practice.
On a mere whim of a god, they mindlessly created a world and for entertainment they threw in a few fun prey to hunt for sport. And his kind we’re the ones that have to bear the responsibility of trophies.
Tales of them being man eaters and evil were passed down and if they were killed, it would bring honor to the ones who hunted them. In return the humans would praise the gods and offer sacrifices with his kind’s dead corpses.
There weren’t mindless monsters! They could speak, they could love, they have families too!
The usually stoic nature of the Hydra was greatly changed in a matter of moments. The humans refuse to see this and even to this day, hunt them. They were naturally weak so the humans suffered thousands of casualties, but this caused the humans to retaliate and send in more to slay these “monsters”.
They had to defend themselves so they had no choice, but to kill! But the humans don’t see this at all. The grudge between man and monster is unreconcilable. They will forever kill each other.
Gods always do this. They create an obstacle and when the humans overcome it, they worship them and thank them. This grants the gods power and faith. Unlike the follower-less god, it could never create such a grand ploy to get such things.
The Hydra’s many heads were still flaming and the smoke was so sever, it completely obstructed the view of the Hydra’s heads.
“Humph!”
With a grunt the heads of the Hydra simply fell down. They magically dislodged themselves from the neck. The parts that caught on fire fell down, still burning.
It was a truly scary sight. The necromancer and his allies were in shock and horror.
“Shit!”, cried the necromancer. Was this the end?!??!
The man with the bow however, still fired arrows like it was to be expected. The necromancer and his allies were confused by his actions, but nonetheless less fell into despair when suddenly.
“Ahem!”, coughed the mage. The necromancer and his friends looked over at the mage with confusion.
“Calm down, it’s not over yet.”
“Just watch.”, said the mage calmly.
They then looked back at the fight and gasped in surprise. The mage was indeed correct! The necks with no heads already started to regenerate the moment they looked away! In a flash pink flesh and bones grew from the severed part of the neck. But, that wasn’t all! Like flower buds a second lump of flesh grew next to already regenerating head! Soon the flesh hardened, scales covered it, and two new heads were formed on top of one neck.
The neck then split apart! Right smack middle in the section of where the two heads. It was like when you do the splits and your jean rips apart.
This essentially doubled the number of the Hydra’s heads. The regeneration of the Hydra was truly godly!
It seems the man was already aware of the Hydras fearsome undying skill. As to be expected of a inhabitance of this world, he was complacent and didn’t let down his guard.
While the Hydra was regenerating its head, the man didn’t want to let it have the chance and aimed at it while it was regenerating. This is a commonly used tactic, to destroy until the regeneration can’t keep up.
The Hydra however, didn’t survive to grow up this huge without some tricks of it’s own. Knowing that the man would aim at its weakest moment, the Hydra sacrificed one of its necks to shield other while it was regenerating. Even headless it could control its body however it needed.
Utilizing this tactic the hydra regained its original number of heads! Not only that, necks that the Hydra used to shield itself also started to regenerate. This would simply add more heads and options for the Hydra!
The Hydra directed its heads to spring at the man. Like vines reaching out to heaven, the thick necks twirled and moved to chase after the man.
The hydra’s heads were slow but the sheer number of them and with its enormous size, more then makes up for it. It was truly like swatting an annoying fly and the man was like a c.o.c.kroach that the Hydra can’t seem to catch.
Slowly, but surely the Hydra gained more and more heads. Like black ink blotting white paper, soon enough heads were formed and covered the entire sky it self!
The armies fighting below them where dragged into darkness as the heads also cut them off from the rays of the sun.
They couldn’t help but stop fighting to witness this grand scene.
