5th Rated God - Volume 1 Chapter 20 The Key? This Thing??
While the clueless god was busy rubbing his eyes, Hermes appears before it in a flash.
Hermes said as he glanced at the feeble thing before it, “Huh….?”
The majestic god couldn’t help but make such a sound as he was excepting something totally different.
Using his divine senses he tracked down the location of the key that only the closest gods of Apollo would know. What he came to expect was the divine beast, Gorgon, not some rugrat chimaera.
The stupid god stared at him with a clueless look. It was this NEET’s first time meeting some other human besides the sculptor face to face. Even then, they didn’t interact much before the man turned into that strange mist.
The shitty god and the actual true god just looked at each other in awkward silence….
10 seconds passed….
30 seconds passed….
1 minute passed…
Finally the one to break the silence was the idiotic god itself.
After freezing for a good minute the stupid god over came his fear and initiated a conversation first.
“F-fff-fear me h-human!!!”, stupid god used intimidate!
It even fanned its wings like a peac.o.c.k with its wings hopping to appear bigger to scare the human off. Only it looked more like a foolish clucking chicken that didn’t look intimidating at all…
Was it effective? Well Hermes the almighty god just looked on with confusion and with an open mouth, so perhaps….
“Dame it! I stuttered!”, the stumbling buffoon god thought.
The stupid god totally stuttered. Although it knew the language it hardly talked to any other people beside praising itself like it was big shot.
The reason why it did these foolish actions? It was still slightly blind as the bright flash it witness still hasn’t worn off! If it could see the imposing strange gear the god was wearing it would totally piss itself.
…………..
“Whats taking so long!”, Apollo was getting impatient and each second more was another slap to his face.
The mystery man and his forces were also getting impatient and started to think that they were playing tricks on them.
Many were tempted to attack, but the mystery man didn’t make a move. He was confused, however. This late in the stage, they shouldn’t be willing to take any risks. Some altercations must have happened…
Apollo started to worry for his brother as well. He was the fastest of all the gods, so it should not have taken so him so long to find the key. Just as they were thinking such thoughts, Hermes appears before them in a flash. In his hands he was hold some weird creature.
Hermes said with a twisted expression, he said,”Here, this is the key…”, while trying to keep his posture.
“This?!?!?! The key??!?!”, many gods and their fellow allies on both sides were utterly confused. Even the mystery man that always wore a faint smile couldn’t help but put a crack his pokerface.
Apollo was utterly confused as well. “Where was the ferocious beast? Where was the divine serpent that could turn even the strongest of gods into stone?!?!?”
Even Iris who was still trapped in a misty fog and Hephaestus, who also knew where the key true location suppose to be, were extremely confused. They all had the same thoughts as Apollo.
The 2 gods and goddess subconsciously looked at Hermes with questioning glances
He stared back with a look saying, “I don’t know either! Do you?”
The tense atmosphere suddenly turned awkward…
“Ahem”, the mystery man coughed.
“Truly to be unexpected to hide the key in such a weak thing”, he said in order to salvage the situation.
The other gods chiming in:
“Y-yes truly a remarkable strategy.”
“I would have never thought to look for it in this creature”
“A-as expected of lord Apollo!”
Both sides said this as they came to a unspoken agreement as the tried to go back to the previous mood. Eventually they all turned their attention to Apollo who “supposedly” thought of this plan.
Apollo as he felt the stares of hundreds of figures: ……
Who said gods can’t be nervous?
Apollo gives in and made up some serious BS on the spot,”As the saying goes….er…. h-hiding in plain sight! Truly like a…..ummm…. a….uhhh…Trojan horse!” (kind of proud of this analogy but if you come up with a better one you can say it in the comments)
The gods as they listened to Apollos explanation: ……we’ll take it!
With that matter settled the mystery man released his hold of Iris and she was free to transport everyone back to Olympus.
Apollo and Hephaestus stayed behind to watch Hermes complete the transaction with the mystery man.
Holding the strange creature by the nape of its neck, everyone could see just how strange the “key” was.
“Is that a snake?, Wait it has 2 dogs heads!”, mentions a god.
“Isn’t that Cerberus!!! I thought he died… wait! The other head doesn’t match.”, one of the mystery man’s subordinates said.
“Yeah it’s pretty ugly.”, another god said as it insults it.
“If it only has 2 heads isn’t it a Orthrus?”
“Orthrus’s heads look slightly different and the other one look like a normal dog”, chimed in another god who was of greek origins.
The god then proceed to say it, “It must be distant dependent that mated with a regular dog. Its nothing, but a mutt”
The god that was being held by the nape of its neck as several gods were scrutinizing it: (T-T)
