5th Rated God - Volume 1 Chapter 49 A Weird Guard And A Weirder Password
“Ok here’s the mission….”, said Horus
A few day back the little chick was transported to a mysterious dimension in the god realm by Horus and it was standing in front of a pair of mystical stone doors. It shined with Egyptian hieroglyphics and was flickering with glowy symbols. It asked what was behind the doors, but Horus just said that it was very important and that only he was trusted to guard the area.
The room it was currently in was filled with marble bricks and gold. With lessons it learned from Isis It knew that there were several protection and sealing magics laced all over the room. Just what was so important here that they need all of this in place?
When Horus brought him there, he was surprised to see an unusual creature. It was a Sphinx! From his lessons in magical creatures with professor Thoth, he learned that these creatures are often guardians who protect certain treasures. They often had a human head and a body of a lion. They were famed for their riddles and those who fail to answer them will be viscously attacked.
“Answer the riddle”, it spoke.
“I know, it’s man!”, squawks the parrot immediately, wanting to show off its knowledge.
It also learned of the myth of how Oedipus came upon the town of Thebes, how found the great Sphinx there. This was the Sphinx’s riddle: What goes on four feet in the morning, two feet at noon, and three feet in the evening?
Oedipus answered “Man. As a baby he crawls on 4s during its infancy, stands on 2 as he turns into a a.d.u.l.t, then on 3 as he ages he requires a cane to lean on.”
“Easy!”, thought the idiot. It answered with full confidence. Surly the Sphinx would would be surprised and its big bro will praise it. That was the plan anyway…
“Wrong, die!”, the sphinx announced. It then lashed out a vicious claw.
“Impossible!”, screeched the chick. It had heard of the famed tale and was 100 no-1000 percent sure that was the answer. What happened to the script!?!!?
“You fool! Of course they wouldn’t use the same old riddle!”, remarked Horus. He shook his head at his foolish little sibling.
Author: He really is a fool.
The foolish parrot: I’m not a foolish parrot, I’m a dignified phoenix, tweet!
He blocked the sphinx attack and said, “Enough, lets get this over with.”
“What is made of flesh but made out of wood in the morning?”, said the sphinx smiling.
“…., huh?”, thought the fool.
It vaguely knew that what it said was wrong.
“What grows and shrinks?”
“What has a rod and two boulders next to it?”, the Sphinx kept rattling on.
Horus grimaced in embarrassment. This is why he hated coming here, it had too many inappropriate jokes, but its one of the strongest guards they can ask for.
The knock off phoenix was stumped, but Horus knew what the inappropriate jokes meant. He looked at his little bros expression which was filled with confusion.
He was too innocent! Should they add s.e.x ed to his education? There were many goddesses of love and beauty, but if he had to choose he would bring in Qetesh, goddess of love, beauty, and s.e.x.u.a.l pleasure, to educate him.
“Sphinx, what’s the real passage?”, said Horus as he wanted this to be over as soon as possible.
“Fine, what is the password? Uh-, so boring.”, the Sphinx said with a lack of enthusiasm. Not many really visited the mystery vault besides Ra and his chosen successor, Horus.
“It had this feature? Where was the mystery, where was the riddle?!?!?”, thought the foolish parrot.
“9999998”, replied Horus.
“……”
The foolish chick,”This style seemed very familiar…..”
Did Ra have some kind of weird fetish with that number, it was slightly annoyed by this number ever since Ra gifted him some faith.
Seeing the foolish parrot making a weird face, Horus remembered he had the same expression when Ra told him the password. In fact when the Sphinx was placed here as a guard it had a worse expression when the almighty god told him this was the password he wanted. But a job is a job. He was being paid to guard the mysterious vault and did as he was told.
The doors were unsealed with the permission of the Sphinx and Horus headed in.
“Stay with Sphinx, I have to do something real quick”, said Horus as he vanished once he entered through the doors.
The foolish little parrot looked at the smiling Sphinx as it was about to say a few more riddles.
“And don’t answer his riddles!”, a voice suddenly rang.
“Tsk, no fun…”, the Sphinx had its intentions predicted and was foiled.
