5th Rated God - Volume 1 Chapter 66 Continue The Tradition

“Ahhhhhhhhh!!!” a shrill shriek was heard.

“Amaterasu-sama!!!”, many of her retainers rushed to her side.

The sun goddess was clutching her her chest. It felt like her heart was torn from herown body! Her origin of power was destroyed in front of her!!! She was lucky that it was only a clone. she held up her hand to stop her warriors to signal she was fine. As a goddess she cant be showing weakness!

“We retreat!!!”, she ordered decisively as blood seeped from the corner of her mouth. The situation had gotten unpredictable.

“HAI!!!!”, her army received her orders and complied with a war cry.

With a wave of her hand several red gates, torii, appeared out of thin air. Her troops rushed towards them in droves. Many sameria leaped on to their mythical steeds as they galloped to the gates. Onmyd and their families carried the injured and the Japanese forces cleared out. She was able to create these spacial gates due to Ra stabilizing the key and Apophis effecting Ged.

(Torii is a iconic part of Japanese culture and is often see in sacred places. It is associated as a gate to another world)

Amaterasu took one last look at the nine tailed fox. She saw that the demoness was meditating and intaking the evil energy emitted from the serpent. This is troublesome, that demoness would no doubt get stronger and her chances at capturing her would become less. To miss such a great opportunity and her origin of worship injured, was such a disgrace! Amaterasu would never let this down in her life!

The last of her body entered with her retainers lending their shoulders for her to lean on. As she tuned her head and left the Egyptian ream, she bit her lips in frustration…

Set flew with the flail and his sector in hand. He was but a speck in Apophis eyes. Apophis was relishing from the feeling the sun it devoured, when it noticed him.

“Its the little parasite…”, Apophis didn’t put anyone in its view beside Ra, but Set has been leeching off it’s power and weakened it slightly for centuries. It has been bothering it for a long, long time. It could finally take care of that problem

” I have a proposition-“, before Set even had the chance to finish what he was about to say, Apophis immediately swallowed him…

Gulp~

Set: Cant you let me finish what I wanted to say?

“But… I knew you were about to do that….”, said Set with a smirk on his ugly face. The flail in his hand and spectator glowed. Within the endless darkness that is Apophis’s stomach, Set took out a mysterious object.

If anyone other than Set where to enter Apophis body, they would no doubt perish, but Set was able to survive. The chasm of chaos and evil swirling in its body did nothing to set but empower him.

“Kuh-“, his red skin turned a even darker shade of red. His body even started to bloat.

“Even I cannot handle this sheer amount of chaos…”

“But I have this…”, Set pulls out a sinister tentacle like object…

In his claws lays a squishy tentacle. It’s green slimy self started to twitch in delight. The seemingly endless chaos in Apophis started to actually deplete! At such a pace that Apophis started to notice its energy depleting at a alarming rate! As for where how the tentacle was able to absorb the energy from such a powerful being, only the Council of Chaos would know…

“Hmm?”, thought Apophis as his was relishing in finally killing the annoying parasite.

“NOOOO!!!!”, Apophis thought the annoying parasite did something and something foreign attack it from the inside.

Apophis’s body started to violently rampage. The planets its body coiled around were especially effected. The pyramids built there where already glowing and the barriers they generated was rammed over and over by the squirming body of Apophis!

Ra and the rest of the gods could only looked on with helplessness and fear. While everyone was in despair, Isis rushed out and chanted ancient magics. She wanted to simultaneously enforce the surrounding barriers of the planets. Before she would never have dreamt of preforming such an act, but today she felt different… In fact she felt great, almost invincible even. The power she input in her spells were with far more faith and power than usual.

The Thoth system installed in her was already telling the precise amount of faith points she was spending. Gods can acc.u.mulate any massive amount of faith, but using it was another matter. There is a limit of how much they can use as well as their output. By spending minimum amount of faith points and maximizing efficacy, her control of magic has ascended to another level. She isn’t a goddess of magic for nothing!

The already failing barriers on various planets were once again glowing with brilliance as Isis was chanting, the words that came out her mouth were mystical and empowering. Everyone could hear the mighty words she uttered was as if they were power itself. The mortals kneeled in awe, as they are reassured with her protection. They sent prayers of compliments and gratitude.

“Incoming, massive amounts of faith!”

“Incoming, massive amounts of faith!”

The Thoth system was screaming with faith updates in her mind. Isis eventually muted the notifications as it was distracting her and fully focused on controlling her chants. Her rainbow wings unfurled from her arms and with a wave faith entwined within her body and her words! Usually she would have to manipulate faith to manually form hieroglyphs and activate magic. In the Egyptian realm magic is achieved through deriving power from words, images, and rituals. But from her words alone, was more than enough to achieve the desired effects.

Watching Isis in her trance and her impressive feat of magic, Ra was extremely surprised. Only he was unaware of the enlightenment that Isis had undergone.

“Mabey I can leave the realm in good hands…”, he thought.

“Master!!!”, Ra’s thoughts were interrupted by a loyal feline goddess. In front of others she seem unfriendly, self centered, and snarky, but when she’s with him she would always be a the adorable cat that purred on his lap.

He had many children and created many gods and fathered many spawn like Ged and Nut, and their children and their children. As you can see how his great grandchild had betrayed him he only truly viewed a few as his own kin, and Bastet was his favorite. Seeing her again really made him feel some hesitation and regret. (Ra made ,Shu and Tefnut made, Ged and Nut and they made Isis, Set, and ect)

“Tell me what happened!”

“Yes!”, Bastet recalled what had occurred and gave out information on the 2 intruders.

“Only one could be identified as the infamous yokai, the nine tailed fox. As for the other, is an illusionist that is shrouded in a haze that none of the gods even, could see. Aside from being a talented illusionist there were no noticeable traits or clues that could be seen.”

“Luckily that fox kept that crazy lass was distracted. Set must have hired outside help to steal the key! That disgrace!!! No wonder why the god of riddles didn’t sound the alarms… ”

“Oh and he broke the contract? Well that selfish bastard would do that to save his own skin, he must have been disposed of anyway…”, he held up his hands and flashing hieroglyphics that spelled out “God of riddles”. The name and status of a god was returned back to him when the sphinx betrayed the realm and broke his contract.

Sphinx who switched camps: Please don’t find me, please don’t find me…..

“The other hired help was an illusionist you say? There are too many gods and individuals to count that fit the bill…”

“Where are they now?”

“Over there my lord “, Bastet pointed over at a distance with her paw.

“Oh? That demoness is absorbing the chaos energy? As if I’ll let you continue!!! I’ll deal with them first!”, how dare they try to take advantage of the situation!!!

With a thought an flaming ball akin to a miniature sun was blasted at the direction. currently Loki had erected a ice dome and various runes were floating around them and concealed their location, but with Bastet tracking abilities, her keen sense of smell and sight. She had been keeping tabs on them. The ice dome was nothing before the might of Ra, and was immediately melted along with the concealing spell!

“Shit!!!”, Loki cried. How were they found out?!?! His sophisticated illusions should be even able to hide even one of the most powerful beings for a while!

Even his personal illusion casted on himself was about to be torn off as well! The heat from the miniature sun was about to burn off his facade! If he was found colluding with a foreign deity in a foreign land, he would be questioned by Odin!!! For his ambition and to defeat Thor, take Odin’s throne for himself, he could not allow that!!!

Loki drew runes in a flash and erected more ice barriers but they were nothing but mist in front of the sun god’s attack.

“Is this the end?”, Loki resolutes himself to be discovered.

The presumably dead sphinx: Noooo, don’t let him see me!!!!

Just as the sun was about to hit Loki, nine lovely white tails clad in darkness bloomed in front of Loki! Like a blossom the tailed open in a lotus like fashion and then in the next instant quickly turned into savage slithering snakes that wrapped themselves around the miniature sun! Oddly enough the sun did not burn the flesh or a single hair on the tails, but the other way around! The phantom of a serpent appeared on the tailed as they constricted the sphere of fire and evil energy covered the sun! The tailed dug into the sun in a feeding frenzy and the tails injected dark forces that eroded sun. The mighty attack of Ra was snuffled out!!!

One by one the tails unraveled and the prey that was trapped in her tails had been completely devoured! The way her tailed looked like, was almost like the many headed snake monster, Yamata no Orochi! Or reminisced of the poisons dragon monster, Hydra! On the end of where the frightful serpent tails connected to was shockingly an lovely maiden! She took on a human form with a traditional look of the Japanese realm with a kimono. Almost as if competing with Amaterasu, she specifically chose a form reminiscent of the Japanese residents.

With a thought the phantom of snakes her tails projected returned back to their enchanting fluffiness. Her charm was even more explosive and enchanting!!! All the gods saw her in rose colored lenses. No matter the gender or species, the gods took on, they felt a urge to please her! Ra was momentarily stunned, but he was a high god!

Ra: Can’t you say I’m strong willed or something…

He quickly produced more suns and was about to fire more than a dozen at them, but before he even had the chance with new found powers and rejuvenated, the nine tailed fox quickly tore spacial channel and with one fo her tails she grabbed Loki and slipped into the void. She had escaped!!! And it seems she had a similar experience to Isis!

Sphinx that was still in the grasp of her tails: Whew~

The sphinx finally gained his sanity back and he hid behind the tails of his new master. He was already too far gone, he cant jump ship now!

“That skill…”, It was similar to how Apophis swallowed Amaterasu’s sun!

Ra’s forehead creased in annoyance, “Tsk… She gained an annoying ability…”

Ra looked at the flailing form of Apophis. He thought, “Just what did Set do? Could he possibly be taking control of that monster, Apophis?”

Even if he is well tuned with chaos, he cant possibly take control of Apophis, but here he is seeing Apophis struggling.

“AHHHH, Hisssssssssss!!!”, the voice of the chaos snake let out its bloodcurdling voice.

“He’s trying to merged with Apophis!”

“He’s gone mad!”

“Lord Ra please do something!!!”, the gods gathered around Ra and pleaded.

“Our reserves of sacerfieces have already run dry!”

“Save us”, like wailing children they desperately cling onto him.

Ra: I should have never created anything….

“Hmmmmm”, Ra started to feel a little overwhelmed and all the frantic gods were not helping.

“Back off! Meow!!! You call yourself gods pathetic!”, Bastet kept the desperate gods in place. She stated at them like annoying flies. They momentarily backed off in fear but still had a gloomy desperation.

“Sigh…. Isis, contact Osiris, where is he at this time?!”

“Isis?”, he looked over when she didn’t respond.

Even with her baby in peril she still preformed her duties first diligently and enforced the defenses of the realm. It was quite commendable considering her past action…

“Lord please do something!”, Isis pleaded. She dared not ask for much ever since the incident, but she let go of all reservations and finally asked for help.

“Oh its the little phoenix you have been favoring, Little Sun was it? I hear it did quite feat”, Ra didn’t rebuild her and nearly looked the the strangle little thing with interest.

“Horus, you took quite the gamble fusing the key with it”

Horus finally started to gain a hang of controlling the key, also chimed in, “Lord Ra please save my little bro…”

“Come to think of it your little Bro is a she, by the way”, Ra was sure as he inspected and healed her during the gathering.

(Perhaps its gender depends on a certain something….)

“What!?!?!”, Horus was so surprised he almost lost control of the key. He was visibly shaken. He had no idea…

“He’s a she?!”, He didn’t find a lick of femininity from his seamless little sibling.

The boyish little brother turned sister: Hey!

“No doubt she is a female phoenix and often, usually only the female prospers in such a species.”, smiles Ra.

“Mom!?!?”

“I always had a inkling… but she was quite cute isn’t she?”, chuckled Isis slightly.

It seems she made some plans to matchmake the two…

Author: But they are siblings!!!

The Egyptians myths: So? Shu and Tefnut are brother and sister and they birthed, Ged and Nut who conceived Osiris and Isis. Through them they made Horus. Through out all the generations, they were conceived through inbreeding.

Author: And Horus will continue that tradition it seems… well they aren’t really blood related not that it matters to gods who aren’t bounded to mortal biological flaws.

“If I knew, I wouldn’t have been so violent during the training lessons…”, thought Horus.

“She did a wonderful job of stalling the intruders we can well let our little hero die can we?”

“Ironically the chaos and evil energy Apophis is giving off is actually benefiting her…”, Ra notices the flames using the sinister energy to fuel its curse ridden power.

“Hm? Interesting it seems she awaken to a new power…. I cant do a in-depth anlasis right now but the right thing to do is send her to the underworld”

“!!!!”

“Calm down, don’t misunderstand, she won’t really die, but her recovery should be more stable without Apophis’s influence. The nether world energy would greatly suite her. Now contact Osirus, where has he been?!”

“With such a commotion he should have noticed by now and taken action.”

An human body of a canine person sudden spouted from the top of Apophis hooded head. It was Set! His already hideous form grew more mutated. His form was a cross between a canine and snake. His pointed ears where twitching and black sales crew on his red skin.

“You! Hissss”, Set’s eyes turned into slits like a retile. It was Apophis which was speaking.

“Shut up!”, the voice changed

“Im in control now!!!”

“You dare make contact with the chaos gods!!!”

“Oh you would know of them wouldn’t you…. Even you heard of us?”

“It seems that an old monster like you must know of our organization. Does Ra know too then?”

“That old man is of light! I am a agent of chaos! I know what darkness happening in the shadows!”

“I always thought you didn’t care for anything other than killing Ra.”

“Fools! Do you children know what power you are playing with, hisssss!!! I refuse to play apart in their schemes, all that matters to me is swallowing Ra!!!”

“We are the gods of chaos! We know what we’re dealing with. We are always in control!”, Set grew annoyed as his position was questioned. This narrow minded snake didn’t care for much other than Ra. His desires are simple and crude, he on the other hand had a grand ambition!

“They tried to recruit me too! You are only a puppet to them! The REAL gods of-”

Apophis’s voice was interrupted as the eyes of the surpream snake turned dead. The tentacle in Set possession started to grow as it sucked in bits of Apophis body. While its mind was empty his body still resisted as if its was its instincts.

“Most of its power is being sucked into the tentacle, but Apophis’s power is still too great for me to handle…”

Apophis was just a mass of chaos and destruction but for Set to channel all that power into a a concentrated individual, his powers would be devastating. Still he had to carefully whittle away at Apophis to slowly gain the advantage. Its battle with Ra, the monsters Loki sent, and the mysterious object the council gave him, all lead to its downfall. This meticulous plan was all for this moment!

Set was no fool and the rest of the council of chaos definitely knew that the object was just a part of a greater being, but they were the most craft and intelligent in all of their realms! If they are carful, they can take advantage of the said being instead…

Apophis body was drained by Set and a portion by the tentacle. Set felt the resistance of Apophis’s body wane and started to integrate with it. Surprisingly he was able to gain a benefit from absorbing the serpent and knowledge flooded his mind. Apophis body and knowledge was a treasure trove. He was only able to gleam a bit from the monster’s age old memories, but most of it was just darkness and it’s battle with Ra. He was a little wary of Apophis’s warning and wanted to access memories and clue of the mysterious beings he spoke of, but it seemed to be buried deep and restricted…

He was disappointed but he was already quite lucky to even view some of its memories. His comprehension of chaos and evil had jumped to another level! Set had became a fully fledged evil god! Now there are no restriction of the power they got from chaos and evil. The 2 agents of chaos where merged into a single being! The fractured key in Set’s hand started to settle down as well. On the outside Horus had the help of Ra with both keys in check the balance is restored and the realm started to stabilize. All the ruptures of space slowl, but surly closed. The sky and earth was torn apart once again…
