99 Days Trapped in the Body of the Royal Prince’s Wife - Chapter 43
“Mia, what are you doing here?” asked Clara with a probing look.
“Eh, I … I just visited one of my friends,” Mia replied with an awkward smile Clara who she knew was Casey’s friend. “I’m in a rush… Too bad we can’t talk,” she continued.
Nathan nodded his head then said “hem… Please take care of Casey.”
“Yeah, that’s for sure. I’m in a hurry to go home because I have to take care of her. I hope when I get home she’ll be awake,” Mia said, full of lies. She immediately left Nathan and Clara with a bit of a limp.
Clara silently stared at Mia who was getting further and further away from her sight. The red stain on Mia’s neck made her uneasy, and curious about where Michael was now.
‘Could she be visiting her friend or maybe she was with Michael earlier? but is it possible that Michael will betray after being loyal to me for so long even though he’s not as romantic as Nathan?’ Clara asked herself.
“Honey,” Nathan called.
Clara woke up from her daydream and looked back at Nathan. “Eh … Let’s hurry to the restaurant,” she said.
“Is something bothering you?” Nathan asked, seeing the discomfort on Clara’s face.
“Um, no,” said Clara then swallowed her saliva while clutching her neck. “Come on, I’m thirsty.”
“Okay.”
Nathan and Clara continued to walk down the corridor until they arrived at a restaurant that was in the very grand apartment building. They chose the most corner seat, close to a glass wall that showed the outside of the building which was still brightly lit.
“Honey, what do you want to eat?” Nathan asked as he looked at the catalog that displayed an expansive variety of food menus.
“Eh, I ordered the same food as you,” said Clara flatly.
“Okay, I’ll order posh pie, salad, and caviar nachos…2 servings each,” Nathan said while looking at the catalog. “For drinks, I ordered two cocktails.”
“Okay orders will come soon,” said the waitress who was standing next to Nathan. The waiter, who was wearing a black mini skirt combined with a white top, recorded what Nathan had ordered using a special iPad, then left immediately.
Nathan turned to look at Clara, who had been acting strangely after accidentally meeting Mia.
“I asked Felix to investigate Aunt Liora and Patricia,” Nathan said looking for a topic of conversation.
“That’s great,” Clara said.
“Yeah, I hope it comes to fruition soon because I don’t like seeing Patricia or Aunt Liora roaming around us freely.”
Clara looked at Nathan seriously and tried to focus on talking about this matter. “Yeah, that’s great. But if they are the culprits of the poison case that means you have to take care of Frederica while they’re in jail…You can’t be mean to her because she’s just a kid who doesn’t know anything.”
“That’s not a problem at all because I never hated her but I hated her mother,” Nathan said then grabbed his phone from his pants pocket. He seemed to read a message from the phone, then frowned. “Checked all employee rooms and employee houses too.”
“What happened?” asked Clara.
“I just got a message from Felix..he advised me to search all employees in the office, especially those closest to me,” Nathan explained angrily.
“Why does that have to be? Aren’t the most suspicious ones are Patricia and Aunt Liora?”
“I don’t know, but it doesn’t wrong to search because who knows there is someone who secretly doesn’t like you beside Patricia and Aunt Liora,” Nathan said angrily.
“It’s too complicated and troublesome,” Clara said.
“But that’s how it has to be because the fake maid is dead. He didn’t have time to give any statements before.”
“But don’t forget to investigate Aunt Liora, Patricia, and maybe all the bodyguards or maids in the house to be fair,” Clara said casually.
“That’s for sure, honey. We’ll find out soon enough,” Nathan said calmly.
After a few minutes, the order finally arrived. Nathan and Clara continued to eat while chatting about light things, but not a few of the chats made Clara confused because she wasn’t the real Clara.

Elsewhere, Oskar is staring at Casey who is undergoing an examination by a doctor. In that particular room, there were also Robert and Julia who were Casey’s uncle and aunt who stood looking at their nephew completely helpless and showing no change.
“Doctor, is there any progress regarding her state of health?” asked Robert.
“There is not any. very monotonous like no progress or regress,” replied the doctor who was a man of about 35 years wearing a white suit with black basic pants.
“Is there any chance she might regain consciousness?” asked Oscar.
“For that, I can’t be sure..but seeing her very monotonous condition, I think we have to wait patiently without certainty,” the doctor replied.
Oskar also frowned… “Patience without certainty?”
“Yeah…” the doctor sighed, looked back at Casey who was sleeping peacefully in a blue pajama suit with flowing hair and a pale face. “Many cases are the same with her… She was in a coma for too long, until eventually, the cells in her body became problematic which made her even more unable to survive.”
“You mean . . . she’s going to die?” Robert looked disbelieving.
“I can’t say for sure because only God determines a person’s life and death,” said the doctor. “So far, only medical equipment has made it possible for her to survive,” he continued.
“Seeing her like this is very sad, sometimes I think it’s better if she’s gone, then she won’t be in pain anymore,” said Oskar with a flat look.
“Oskar, what do you mean by that?” .asked Julia irritably.
“I’m just talking facts, Mom,” Oskar replied then pointed at Casey. “Look at her, her body is full of medical equipment, even breathing is very difficult. We know she’s just asleep, but maybe she’s suffering….maybe she hears us, but she can’t just open her eyes,” he continued.
Seeing the pessimistic Oskar and Julia or Robert who looked sad, the doctor said, “We’d better wait until whenever she wakes up…I and the medical team will make efforts to bring her back to life, and we are waiting for a miracle from God.”
“I’m sure she can still recover,” said Robert optimistically.
The doctor nodded his head, then immediately prepared to go home while Oskar chose to walk out of the room.
—
Arriving outside the room to be precise in the living room, Oskar turned to leave the house while answering a from someone.
“Hello!”
“Oskar, I don’t think you’re safe anymore not even me,” someone said over the phone.
“What do you mean?” asked Oscar.
“Casey’s wrecked car seems to be under investigation again,” someone replied.
“Really? Didn’t you sell it and someone bought it in Los Angeles?” Oskar looks panicked.
“Yeah, but now the car is in an investigation office. I accidentally saw it while investigating another case with my colleague,” explained the man.
Oskar fell silent with his jaw clenched. ‘No one should know the cause of the accident, because it could destroy me and all my plans!’ he is furious….
