99 Days Trapped in the Body of the Royal Prince’s Wife - Chapter 47
Arriving at the office, Nathan and Clara walked out of the elevator to be precise on the 25th floor where there is a room with employees who have important positions. they walked down the corridor until they reached the place where the employees were supposed to work, but instead they were standing staring at the police who were searching.
One of the policemen entered the secretary’s room which was dominated by white. behind it are rows of shelves containing important company documents that have been sorted by year.
“Felix, no results yet?” Nathan asked, immediately approaching Felix who was standing near the 1.5-meter high bulkhead wall.
“Not yet, sir,” said Felix.
Nathan was silent, glancing at the employees who were dominated by beautiful girls and men aged around 25-35 years chatting with each other, occasionally glancing at the police who were conducting searches.
“Has my family’s mansion been searched?” asked Nathan.
“Yes Sir..but we found nothing about the poison case. I also asked other police officers to come to your mansion, to search there, but also found no results,” Felix explained with a flat look.
Nathan was silent with disappointment because it turned out that neither Liora nor Patricia would be proven to be the mastermind of the poison case. This made him wonder who the real culprit was, then glanced at his employees who looked uncomfortable because of the search.
“Could it be that an employee here is the mastermind behind this case?” asked Clara who had been standing on Nathan’s right side.
“I don’t think so because they are very loyal to me,” Nathan replied angrily.
“Loyal does not guarantee a favor, sir,” said Felix. “Sometimes what we think is not so dangerous for our lives, are the real monsters.”
Immediately Clara glanced at Felix who looked calm. ‘Could he be the traitor Arion was referring to?’
“But I’m not sure, and I don’t think they have any motive for doing this to me,” Nathan muttered.
“It could be because of envy or disliking of your leadership, sir..we should just wait for the police,” Felix said, then walked over to the police who were checking the cupboards or drawers and other objects in every employee room which were lined up neatly with the dividing wall.
Nathan was silent with his arms crossed, waiting for the search process to begin until he began to feel bored. Likewise, Clara faithfully accompanies him and invites him to sit in a dark blue office chair.
“Are you alright?” asked Clara.
“I don’t know, I don’t feel calm,” Nathan replied angrily. “The ones I expected to be caught today were Aunt Liora or Patricia, but why… Why isn’t there any evidence that allows them to be arrested? Then there was a search here instead…I’m not sure my employees put poison in the drink… I guess there’s no reason!”
“Then, we’ll just have to wait for the results of all this,” Clara said calmly, but her gaze continued to focus on Felix who was also busy searching.

until almost 30 minutes of searching the number of employees and rooms, finally one of the policemen who searched the secretary’s room found something in the socks stored in the women’s black loafers which he found under the table where the secretary was keeping the shoes.
“I got something,” said the policeman approaching Nathan while carrying a white transparent plastic containing a small bottle, so small that it could be grasped.
“What’s that?” Nathan asked, frowning.
“I found this small bottle in a sock that was in a black loafer under the secretary’s desk. It looks like this is poison because if not, why keep it in a sock that is very unlikely to be seen by others,” explained the policeman with a flat look
Nathan immediately glanced at the female employees who were gathering. His gaze focused on one of the beautiful employees who wore a black knee-length skirt combined with a white top and gray blazer and tied her hair neatly.
“Paulina… are those shoes yours?” he asked.
“Yes, sir. But I don’t know why there is such a small bottle in my sock,” answered Paulina fearfully. Of course, she was scared because she didn’t expect that suddenly there was a small bottle inside her sock, which she thought was a poison bottle. Of course, she was afraid because the mastermind might slander her at this time.
Nathan sighed, feeling suffocated and not understanding what all this meant. Everyone was confused, until Felix and the police gathered.
“I think we should detain Miss Paulina for further investigation,” said one bald cop.
Paulina immediately approached Nathan and the policeman and said, “Sir, but I don’t know anything about that bottle.”
“But the bottle is in the sock in your shoe ….maybe you keep it there because you think no one wants to unpack the contents of your shoes or your socks!” Felix said firmly.
“But really, I wasn’t the one who put the poison in the drink and I didn’t know anything about the little bottle,” said Paulina sadly.
“Miss Paulina, I hope you follow the procedure we have set. It doesn’t matter if you are wrong or not, please explain at the police station,” said one of the police officers approaching her. However, Paulina still squeaked, denying the accusation of the heinous act committed by her.
Felix approached Paulina with a flat look. “Don’t worry, Miss. You won’t be handcuffed. You just need to come with the police and do some procedures before you are found guilty or not.”
Paulina fought with teary eyes and her body was shaking, her heart was beating fast and her hands were starting to break out in cold sweat. She looked at Nathan who was silent with a confused look and then glanced at Clara who had been listening to this situation since then, even the other employees were silent as if they didn’t expect what the police found in her socks.
“Sir, you know me well, you even know that I have befriended you for several years… During that time you also know how I behave, how good and bad I am..even though the evidence was directed at me, I hope you realize that all of this is just slander,” she said with tears in her eyes.
Seeing Paulina who was scared and sad, Clara approached her and hug her. “Paulina…you should join the police and follow the further investigation process. If you are indeed innocent if you are indeed only slandered, the truth will be revealed. Don’t be afraid,” she said quietly.
“But I didn’t do that because it meant absolutely nothing to me…I have no reason to put poison in there … Absolutely not,” said Paulina tearfully.
“I hope that you are not the real culprit..but follow the existing procedures and maybe you can defend yourself if you are never guilty,” said Clara, who felt that Paulina was very honest.
Nathan was silent remembering the poisoning incident that almost took Clara’s life until she was scared. He pulled Clara up to let go of Paulina’s arms, then looked at her with a sharp look.
“Don’t cry in self-defense, Paulina! I really didn’t think that you were the mastermind behind the poison case!” Nathan said very angrily.
“But I didn’t put the poison, sir!” said Paulina in tears.
“I don’t know what your reason is, but having that poison bottle in your socks, it’s very convincing for me that you are the brains of the poison case. You do look good, but maybe you don’t like me or my wife all this time… You disappointed me!” Nathan said angrily then walked towards his room at a brisk pace.
Seeing Nathan who had left in an emotional state, Felix immediately ordered the police to take Paulina. Instead, it made Clara focus on Felix who was so enthusiastic about capturing Paulina, and she kept thinking about Arion who told her that there was a traitor that Nathan trusted the most.
‘I have to do something for Paulina and secretly investigate Felix’s movements,’ Clara thought then quickly followed Nathan….
