99 Days Trapped in the Body of the Royal Prince’s Wife - Chapter 53
At 9 pm Clara was standing on the upstairs balcony terrace right in front of the room. The woman was silently staring at the dark sky, occasionally her gaze turned to the gate in hopes of seeing Nathan return but that hope did not come true at all because her husband had not yet returned.
“Where is he? He also didn’t go with the bodyguard or driver? What if something happened to him? He’s not usually like this …” Clara wondered nervously, thinking about Nathan who was the one who had suffered the most because the real Clara had died.
brakk….
Clara was immediately startled when she heard the sound of a car hitting the gate. She looked down, saw the bodyguards and the others immediately opened the gate and saw Nathan’s car crashing into the gate but not too hard.
“Oh my God, what happened until he hit the gate?”
Instead of being curious, Clara immediately entered the room and continued out to the ground floor. She descended the stairs hastily but carefully for fear of falling until she reached the ground floor and saw Nathan walking with the help of two bodyguards namely Willy and Antony. The woman immediately greeted her husband, along with Patricia who came from another room.
“Oh my God, what happened? Why did you hit the gate like that?” Clara asked frantically, looking at Nathan’s face which looked shabby, and there was a little blood on his forehead.
“He’s drunk,” Patricia said.
Clara touched Nathan’s face, looked at him worriedly while the one he was staring at only smiled faintly at her with sad-looking eyes. She turned to look at the 2 bodyguard supporting her husband’s body.
“Please take him to the room,” she said.
Anthony and Willy immediately continued to lead Nathan to the top floor, while Clara immediately followed without wanting to respond to Patricia who seemed to be reproaching her.
Arriving in front of the room, Nathan waved his hands until the two bodyguards didn’t hold him anymore.
“I don’t need you!” he said harshly.
“But, Master…”
“All right, let me take care of him,” Clara exclaimed, looking at Willy and Anthony with conviction, while Nathan was already staggering into the room. She immediately followed her husband after going out.
Nathan kept walking until he finally arrived at the bed. The man who looked so messy with unkempt clothes threw his body on the bed to lie down with his legs hanging on the floor.
“Oh my God, I didn’t expect you to get drunk like this,” Clara said as she crouched down and took off Nathan’s shoes one by one, then placed them on the side of the bed. After that she stood up straight again, helping her husband to lie down in a straight position. “I also have to treat your wounds…”
Clara took the first aid kit that was in the desk drawer near the bed, then sat on the edge of the bed right next to Nathan. She immediately took cotton and antiseptic liquid, to treat the wound on Nathan’s forehead very carefully.
‘Fortunately, nothing worse than this happened because you were driving while drunk,’ she thought as she treated Nathan’s wound, occasionally focusing on his handsome face even though he looked a mess.
Nathan who was still half-conscious glanced at Clara then grabbed her hand so it stopped treating his wound.
“Nathan?” Clara was surprised.
“Who are you?” Nathan asked narrowing his eyes.
For a moment, Clara fell silent with a strange feeling. “What do you mean by asking that? Of course, I’m Clara, your wife.”
“But you are different, I don’t recognize you at all!” Nathan said then sat down. He stared in the direction very intensely, as if searching for the truth he saw was Clara or not. “Why… Why have you changed since the poisoning? even I’m like this because I miss the old you… My heart hurts so much… My heart is so broken because of your difference. I thought that when we got married, we’d be happier but we’re not.”
Clara stared silently at Nathan who looked so weak, his eyes looked red, his gaze was so sad, and it made her feel unhappy because the man would feel more sorrow after her soul left the body.
“Why?” Nathan whispered.
Clara didn’t answer but instead hugged Nathan tightly. “I’m still the same as before. You can’t think like that. I’m still Clara who loves you, and I don’t like seeing you like this…”
Nathan sighed, resting his head on Clara’s shoulder. “But I feel you are different. Don’t you realize that? You indirectly hurt me… I think I’ve failed as a husband for you because I can’t make you happy.”
“No, you can’t say that. You’re a good husband… and nothing has changed about me,” Clara said sadly, feeling sad to see Nathan who was so frustrated. ‘I need to see more of all the memories of the real Clara so I can get to know her character. I don’t want Nathan to continue like this, because this will also be an obstacle for me,’ she thought.
“But you are different, I miss the old you,” Nathan said and then let go of Clara’s arms. He looked at his wife very intensely, then touched her soft cheek. “I miss you who are spoiled, wild, and always forgive me in all situations. I miss you who always support me… Always be sweet to me so that I don’t feel burdened with existing problems. Now, where is that figure.. ..why in front of me is not the old you, who always kisses my cheek when I open my eyes…?”
Clara sighed, then felt Nathan’s firm hand which was still on her cheek. “I… I didn’t mean to change. It’s just….It’s just that the problems that exist make me sick,” he said, starting to find an excuse.
“Is it because Patricia and Frederica are here?” asked Nathan.
“No, it doesn’t matter to me,” Clara replied, shaking her head.
“I’m going to ask Patricia to go back to my family’s mansion, bringing Frederica along…I don’t feel comfortable having them here, and I don’t like you being uncomfortable either.”
“Honey, it’s not necessary. Frederica’s presence makes me feel comfortable. I’m not lonely when you come to the office…”
Nathan sighed, then lay back down and fell silent. the man looked up at the ceiling, then glanced back at his wife who was now removing the plaster, then put it on her forehead which had been injured.
“Why don’t you answer my calls again, then turn off your phone instead?” asked Nathan.
“Because I’m still upset…I don’t like you to believe the results of the search earlier,” Clara answered as she cleaned up the first aid kit.
“But that’s the truth. I’ve seen the CCTV footage in the secretary’s room, and it’s only Paulina who puts shoes there,”
Clara took a breath, glanced at Nathan who probably believed the evidence more because it looked very much like Paulina on CCTV. but she didn’t want to talk about it let alone talk about Fabrizio who had helped free Paulina because she didn’t want her husband to think she was so different.
“I don’t want to talk about that anymore, now do you want to take a shower or go straight to sleep?” asked Clara.
“Take a bath with you, I’d like to,” Nathan answered with his innocent look.
Immediately Clara swallowed her saliva, imagining that if she followed Nathan’s wishes, it might not just be a shower. But if she refuses, she will be suspected of changing her attitude and will cause new problems again…Moreover, Nathan has just revealed that he misses the figure of Clara, who is sweet, spoiled, wild, and very caring. She couldn’t help but act like that now… Ok, but she would also benefit from pampering Nathan, which was to relax for a bit.
