A Business Woman’s Rebirth - Chapter 17 Free
Fa Bo wanted to say that his boss was too petty, however,he felt that Chu Wngz would sell him out to Si Lng Rn, afterall he was an ever loyal friend, then, unfortunately, he would be in a worse situation than what he was now. Maybe he would be shipped off to who knows where to do his boss’ bidding.
He was now thinking of how to get back at Chu Wngz when he glimpsed a paused video on Chu Wngz ‘s computer as he was sitting at the side of the table, or maybe it was that he liked to stick his nose in his brother’s business. Chu Wngz saw no need to hide anything from Fa Bo, who he considered a little brother, but he still reprimanded him for sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. “This is why you’re always getting in trouble with Brother Si,” yet, while Chu Wngz was saying this, Fa Bo was already stretching his neck to get a better look at the screen. “Brother Chu, you are too serious, Brother Si hasn’t beaten me to death yet, that means I’m doing something right,” Fa Bo replied as if this was the obvious truth and Chu Wngz rolled his eyes, but still, he turned the screen so that Fa Bo could have better access.
Fa Bo smiled happily and pressed play, yet what he saw was the living room of Chu Home with only a young maid cleaning the tea table. He turned to Chu Wngz confusedly, “Is it your pastime to watch the maids pass by? Ah! Could it be you are interested in the maid?” Fa Bo seemed excited when he said this however a sly grin made it’s way on his face soon after, “Brother Chu you can tell me, do you have a maid cosplay fet- ”
“Pa!” “Ouch!”Fa Bo held behind his head with his hands. “Brother Chu you are going too far, I didn’t do anything, why did you hit me!?” Chu Wngz rolled his eyes and grabbed the mouse, maneuvering it and reversing the video to when Li Qing had now returned to Chu Home.
…
“Chu An is an idiot! I knew she was a good person when I went to the hospital!” Fa Bo ridiculed Chu An to Chu Wngz ‘s face, and even though Chu Wngz always defends Chu An, he remained silent this time, afterall, he agreed with Fa Bo. He sighed heavily once again, he couldn’t help but think that Chu An did not appreciate what he had, but as his uncle, he could only hope there wasn’t too much to regret, a shame that was just wishful thinking.
….
Later that evening, Li Qing’s swelling had gone down a lot and her face was almost back to its original shape, but it was still discolored. Lei Ju had organized the guest room and made sure that Li Qing had all her necessities. Li Qing sat in the guest bedroom on the bed while Lei Ju was making dinner for them both. Li Qing looked out of the window, taking in the skyscrapers ahead, the streets where tiny people walked and automobiles drove, and finally the birds that flew high up above, leaving everything behind.
Seeing those birds, she remembered a time when she envied them and wished she could just leave everything behind and do what she wanted to do. Yet, as Zhen Qing, as such a little girl who grew up too fast, no, one who had to grow up, leaving behind everything was just wishful thinking.
Li Qing touched the glass window, tracing the path of the birds and for the first time since she became Li Qing, a genuine happy smile came to her lips as her eyes showed her resolution. She was no longer the body of Zhen Qing, but Li Qing, she didn’t have to do what others wanted, and she didn’t feel weighed down by the responsibilities that she had to undertake. For the first time in years Zhen Qing felt free. Yes free at last in more ways than one.
