A Business Woman’s Rebirth - Chapter 4 Fa Bo
Lei Ju’s eyeballs practically popped out of their sockets when she heard Li Qing’s reply, but then, her lips broke into a wide grin. She herself knew that her friend didn’t deserve any mistreatment; Li Qing should be a confident young woman in her eyes. Li Qing had a bewitching beauty with her long raven hair, silky clear skin, a cute button nose, seductively kissable lips and big, mysterious electric blue eyes.
Unfortunately, Li Qing never displayed her beauty, merely keeping her head down trying to keep a low profile. “Ah…. It is better to divorce that boorish man,” Lei Ju injected her piece immediately, making sure Li Qing didn’t endeavor to stay in the marriage.
Lei Ju got even happier when she caught Li Qing’s next words. “At least that egotistical maniac will come in handy with some alimony money…. Mmmmm, it should be in the millions considering my traumatic experience of being married to him.” Li Qing snickered sadistically, imagining Chu An’s face when he has to give up a lot of money just to be rid of her; who told him to be so stupid as to not have a prenuptial agreement, she could well take half of his business as he only started it after they had gotten married.
“Yeah yeah, make sure to squeeze a lot of money out of him,” Lei Ju happily agreed with Li Qing’s plans of scrounging off of her husband while getting a divorce. “Don’t worry I don’t think his uncles will help him with this anyways, so it’s best to make the most out of him.” Certainly, if any passerby heard Lei Ju’s words they would assume Li Qing was a gold-digger, milking all a man’s worth out of him; a shame Li Qing and Lei Ju didn’t care if anyone would hear.
They continued their chat talking of all Li Qing could do with the money she would receive until Lei Ju left to get lunch for Li Qing. They conversed all through lunch, making plans to ‘hurt’ Chu An and where Li Qing would live after she got rid of Chu An. Of course, Lei Ju invited Li Qing to stay in her condo as she didn’t see Li Qing returning to her grandfather’s home where those snakes had taken over. Li Qing readily agreed and by the time the doctor arrived in the afternoon, Lei Ju had fallen asleep on the couch in the patient’s room.
Fa Bo was having a hectic day; firstly, he was in country E until three hours ago as the boss called him to country C to check on the fourth young master’s wife. He is a famous doctor pursued by all, that is; if they want a checkup. He only treated the extremely upscale and the people of substantial standing, and in his books, there weren’t a lot, not even the president of C country could call upon him but had to practically beg him for a visit yet he had to fly out from E country to check that brat’s wife? Secondly, he didn’t even like the kid, yet he had to suffer through jet lag to treat that very kid’s wife.
How he wished he could go back on his mini vacation, watching all the ladies on the beach and picking up women at the club. All he could do was sigh; he couldn’t go against the boss, he would get sacked and the very job he was so proud of would become a joke in others eyes, being remembered as the guy who lived it large when he was a famous doctor, but was terminated and nobody dared to hire him, he would be a lost cause.
Fa Bo shivered remembering the chilly eyes of his boss as he came to the patient’s room door, the very woman he didn’t really want to treat. Upon opening the door, he saw an angel, well, that was the illusion he saw with the sunlight shining through the window spilling upon the young woman on the hospital bed.
Li Qing heard the door open and turned around, catching sight of a young doctor who looked to be in a daze. Seeing Li Qing watching him he quickly cleared his throat and rushed to introduce himself, explaining that he is the doctor in charge this evening and just came to check upon her. However, as he walked closer, he realized the young woman, Li Qing was looking at him with a razor sharp gaze and his lips couldn’t help but twitch.
He kept a nonchalant attitude but inside he was sweating buckets as her gaze reminded him of a certain other person. She watched him closely as he carefully checked her over and couldn’t help sighing in relief while making his way out, but, he froze when he heard a wintry melodic voice. “It’s quite interesting that doctor Fa Bo would be in this meager establishment.”
Fa Bo laughed joyfully replying in an unconcerned manner, “Oh? Could it be that Miss Li knows about me?” “How could I not know doctor Fa Bo?” Li Qing said this with a smile, yet Fa Bo felt as if she was observing intently his reaction.
“Mmmmmm..I’m taking over for a friend, you stay well Miss Li,” Fa Bo quickly pulled out of the conversation and all but dashed out of the room. He leaned on the wall after closing the door, breathing a heavy sigh. How could he say that her Uncle sent him when he wasn’t sure if the man wanted to remain anonymous? He wouldn’t dare make assumptions, he is only fortunate as he was good friends with the fellow since young. He would rather give up an arm than anger this friend of his. Fa Bo breathed in deep and rushed off after regaining his lost composure.
After Fa Bo closed the door Li Qing stared at it, a smile of cruelty written on her face, her mysterious electric blue eyes almost glowing.
