A Casual Boy In Another World - Chapter 17 The Forest Girl
“Hm”, the girl stayed still, shock and speechless at what this young man had done to her the first thing he had woken up from sleep. He, a boy who slept in the river water buck naked just suddenly leaped and took her first kiss. She didn’t know how to react yet. After the boy had done that unacceptable thing, he just stood up, covering himself with his hand and dried himself under the sun for a few minutes and then putting some clothes like it was nothing.
The girl just stared blankly while covering her lips while sitting on her knees at the rock unmoving.
After a while, Cass faced her and asked, “Who are you?”
Red hair, looking like at the same age as him, seventeen of age, and a pretty girl with white skin. Exactly what Bran had described her daughter. Just from the red hair, it is obvious since it’s not that common to have red hair in that place, at least for Cass. However, he was a bit in doubt. If this is how easy to find Bran’s daughter then it wouldn’t take several years for Bran to find her. So he still had to ask.
The girl didn’t answer but only stared.
Cass squinted his eyes, “You can’t understand my language?”, he asked her but mainly to himself.
“Wa”
“Wa?”
“What did you just do to me?!”, the girl came back to her senses and flared up while covering her lips while she stood up. Her clothes were just different clothes patched together but it looked rather nice, clean, and artistically done. It looked nice although different clothes were used. Only it was a bit revealing that you can clearly see the slenderness of her body. Even one of her underboobs was showing a bit if you look under a certain perspective.
“Ummm, I asked your name?”, Cass stupidly asked while smiling innocently.
“Rghh!”, the red-headed girl bit her teeth.
Cass’ smile then disappeared and casually said, “But when you see a pretty girl in front of you so close right after you woke up, wouldn’t you naturally kiss her?”
The girl just turned red and stayed girl but she seemed to accept that reason and after a while, “Really?”
“.”, the thought of her believing such a blatant lie or it is even treated as a joke come to Cass’ head. However, there is no turning back now. He really, really wanted to know how much he could tease this girl. He will just stop if necessary, “Yes, you don’t know?”
The girl furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head while doing so.
“Seriously? Then do you know that you should greet that person with a kiss?”, Cass smiled.
The girl thought for a while but shook her head once more, “Wait, is that really true?”
“Of course”, Cass strongly nodded, “Although, you should only do that to the first person who kissed you except for your relatives.”
“Then”, the girl turned her head down while fidgeting, “Should I greet you now?”
Cass’ reaction was only: Wow, she’s a funny girl.
“Shouldn’t you?”, Cass stood still.
“Okay”, the girl went down on the stone and went closer to Cass while murmuring, “I didn’t know there is such a thing.”
When she is already in front of Cass she shyly pointed her lips to her.
Cass was bewildered and thought it was funny but he knew that he should stop now. Messing with a girl’s knowledge is not a very good thing to do that was on his mind but he still did it, “Actually, it’s not actually-”
The white tiger suddenly appeared and jumped out of the woods while its roar was still resounding through the air.
The red-headed girl saw this and had a serious complexion. She retreated a few meters away when the white tiger approached her.
Cass retreated a step backward, confused to why the white tiger did that. Is she hungry? But he fed her earlier, wasn’t that enough?
The white tiger then went in front of Cass while still roaring at the girl with immense intimidation and aggression.
Of course, Cass’ thought was stupid but he knew that there was something deeper happening.
“Redhead, you still didn’t answer my question?”, Cass casually asked while ignoring the friction between the two. By doing this, he was showing that everything is alright between him and the girl to the white tiger.
The girl glared at the white tiger in a defense position, “What?”
“I asked you what was your name.”, Cass has a tone that they are close. Although it was not that effective since he was asking her name.
“Brianna”, the red-headed girl, Brianna, said without turning her head away from the white tiger. From the start, their eye contact didn’t break.
Cass expression changed, ‘It is actually her, Bran’s daughter, Brianna.’, it was surprising that he already found her just after a night of talking to Bran about it but what was more surprising was that she was still alive after seven whole years, she was gone and missing inside the Sacred Forest which was filled with monsters stronger than usual. Actually, just from seeing the atmosphere between the white tiger and her, Cass saw that she had already fought this white tiger that was not a nocturnal monster. The fact that she is alive and was facing the white tiger without running even when she already noticed the white tiger’s aggression showed that she is a formidable person.
“And what’s with the deal with the two of you?”, Cass looked at the white tiger and Brianna.
“That tiger is an enemy of my master. She always attack us when she had the chance.”, Brianna defended which the white tiger replied with a roar.
“Hmm, since I couldn’t ask the white tiger her opinion, I really couldn’t take a side between you two.”, Cass shook his head.
Brianna looked at him as if he was someone strange, “You can’t understand them?”
“What?”, Cass was thrown off, “Can you?”
“Of course. She’s been saying rude things up until now.”, Brianna angrily pointed at the white tiger, “Isn’t it natural to learn how to understand them?”, she said it as a matter of fact.
For her to be inside the Sacred Forest for seven years already. The common sense that she had once was continually fading and becoming a new one. Inside the forest, she could only see monsters and even rarely, animals which are unintentionally there.
“No, it is not normal to talk to monsters and how can you do that?”, Cass said expressionlessly as usual but he really wanted to know.
Brianna didn’t remover her defensive stance and said, “What do you mean isn’t normal? And I learned it from a Perpetual Skillbook.”, she was like an open book which Cass only need to ask her and she will definitely answer honestly. Maybe she became nave from being away from sneaky humans for too long.
“Skillbook?”, Cass was interested.
“Umu”, Brianna nodded, “Master Zek taught me how to use a Perpetual Skillbook and make the skill permanent.”
The white tiger roared once again upon hearing the name Zek.
Cass wasn’t close to the white tiger but he still said to the white tiger, “You should stop being like that for now.”, Cass didn’t state his reason but the white tiger submissively snorted and went beside him, ‘What? Treating me your master now? Although that isn’t a bad idea at all.’
Brianna’s expression was of shock but seeing the white tiger retreat, she let her guard down and stood still.
“Who are you?”, she curiously asked.
“My name is Cass.”, Cass calmly answered.
Brianna shook her head, “No, I mean who are you to make the white tiger listen to you?”
Cass contemplated on what’s the best answer and he could only reply, “I don’t know, I am not someone special.”, seeing Brianna’s expression of doubt and dissatisfaction, he continued, “Maybe because I fed her.”
The white tiger didn’t react and sat beside him. It clearly showed how big the white tiger is beside Cass. She was roughly taller than him.
The three cute white tiger cubs went beside Cass’s feet, feeling comfortable.
Brianna’s eyes fell onto the three cubs. She was a bit envious of Cass. The white tiger saw this and roared, misunderstanding what Brianna’s expression meant.
Cass picked up one of the cubs and cuddled it as he wanted before. The white tiger was furious at first but when she saw no harm done then she retreated. The tiger cub seemed to like being cuddled too.
Brianna gulped as she watched this. Cass then picked the other two and said to Brianna, “Want a touch?”, while he looked at the white tiger’s expression.
“Can I?”, Brianna asked excitedly.
Before the white tiger roar again, Cass answered, “Sure”
