- Chapter 1 A Confession From My Childhood Friend Would Have Been Nice
A long time ago, there was once a young boy, and a slightly older girl. The girl was a grade ahead of the young boy, but that never stopped them from becoming friends. For as long as either of them could remember, they had always been by each other’s side.
From their childhood to their teens, the two were always by each others side. Eventually, high school rolled around. The girl, who was more attractive than the young boy, had countless people confess to her. However, she turned all of them down, saying she was interested in somebody else.
The boy, who never got confessed to, also had somebody he was interested in. Who? Well, the girl of course. Having been together for as long as they had, it was only natural for the boy to develop an attraction towards her.
Unfortunately, the boy only saw his crush on the girl as a curse. He thought that he was forever forced to look at her from afar while she got confessed to, while he was forced to play the role of the childhood friend. Every time he heard the girl turn down a confession, he couldn’t help but think how lucky the guy she was interested in was, and how that would never be him. However, he could not have been anymore wrong.
The person that the girl was interested in was none other than the boy himself. Unfortunately yet again, the girl thought that the young boy saw her as nothing more than an older sister, a childhood friend.
As the years past, the confessions kept coming, all the way until the final year of high school for the girl. Thinking that she would never have a chance with the boy she loved, the next time she got asked out on a date, she said yes. The boy who she went out on a date with turned out to be an absolutely wonderful man, who the girl eventually fell in love with.
The boy? Well, after he saw the girl go out on a date with another guy, he gave up as well. During his final year of high school, he confessed to a completely random girl he had never talked to, and she agreed to be his girlfriend. Eventually, just like with the girl, he fell in love with this completely random person.
A couple years later, both the boy and the girl were (un)happily married to their respective partners. They had also fallen out of touch with one another, not hearing from each other in at least a year. On the same night, both of them couldn’t help but stare up at the sky and think to themselves, that a confession from their childhood friend would have been nice.
