A Fallen Knight-Lost art of Necromancy - Chapter 230
“It doesn’t matter. I already made sure of her safety.”
“Oh really?” Arthur was intrigued.
“What made you so sure about her safety?”
Vladis knew Arthur was testing him.
“Vladella. My mother promised me that she won’t let anything happen to her and if possible, she will cure her.”
“And you believe her?” He scoffed.
“And why not?” Vladis was enraged.
“Because she left you to die when you were born. You mean nothing to her, never did, and never will Vladis.”
Pa pa!
Vladis punched Arthur in the face.
“Shut up!”
Arthur, who stumbled a few steps away because of the force, wiped the blood from his lips.
“Is that how it ‘s going to end?”
“Believe me, if I had a choice, I would have never wanted all of this, but I don’t have much of a choice. I am aware of what you are implying but let’s be clear here Arthur. She is my mom, she did leave me, but she won’t kill me now. She loves, she worries for me, and I have seen it from my eyes, experienced it when I was with her.”
“She is sorry Arthur.”
“That doesn’t mean you can forgive her, Vladis.”
“Why not?”
“And by the way, who are you to even concern about who I forgive and who I not? I know she has her reasons, but so do you. And don’t give me that crap that whatever she is doing is bad and you, vice-versa.”
“I JUST DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT”
“There are things that you consider as right and others not, same is with them and I don’t want to bother myself with it. I did whatever I can for you, now it’s time to do whatever I can for her. As for Camy, I am sure my mother won’t sacrifice her as you did because you wanted to save Ciel.”
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He knew that what Arthur did was completely logical, and rational given the circumstances but what about his love?
His heart?
His feelings?
Every time he used to think about them, he was filled with anger and nothing else.
“So, Arthur, I came here to kill someone. And please let me do it because if you come in my way, I am not going easy on you this time.” He threatened her.
Swishhh!
They both took their position. Vladis wildly came forward to strike him, but Arthur backed away, making Vladis lose his balance and in an instant, his sword was Over Vladis neck.
“Shall I?”
Blood lust was seething from Arthur’s eyes. It was nothing like what Valdis ever saw. It was so strong that even the weather was trembling from it. Winds started howling as a storm brewing in the sky.
“Don’t regret it.”
Slash!
Something pierced as blood seeped out.
Valdis groaned in pain.
“Youu….”
However, was surprised when he saw Arthur smiling as nothing happened.
“Aaah…No need to act. She is gone. I can sense her.”
“For real?” Valdis confirmed it.
Ahaa…. haa.
“She did”
“Alright. Help me out then” He extended his hand which was grabbed by Arthur swiftly, pulling Vladis up.
“You did it on purpose right?”
“Hmm?” Arthur feigned ignorance.
“You bastard” He laughed it off.
“Shall we discuss Arthur?”
However, he refused. Not here, it isn’t safe. Let’s head back to church first”.
“Alright”
They both entered the church but maintained the façade as if they were hostile to each other, in case there were spies.
Ding Dong!
Coming…
A lean but skinny boy opened the door. He was baked brown, with soft eyes but there was something off about him.
“Yes sir?”
“I am here to meet Parson Norman,” Vladis said mildly. Arthur’s reserve nature made it hard for others to communicate with him, so reluctant Valdis had to take the step.
“You both?”
“Yes. You mind it, young lad?”
Uh…
“No” He seized both of them. Given their clothes, he could deduce they weren’t nobodies. He has met a man of the same caliber once. He too used to carry the same aura as they both did, but he used to stay low about it. The clothes that these two men were wearing were of even far superior quality than he was wearing.
Their aura was one thing and their face another.
He deduced in an instant that it wouldn’t be good to mess with them, so he skeptically changed the topic.
“No…. Who am I to mind? The door of the church is open for everyone and besides Parson Norman has gone to the city, he will come back but till then it will be a late night. So….”
He was hoping they could go but their expression said otherwise.
“We will wait. We have a very important thing to discuss with him” Valdis said slowly while Arthur just barged inside like it was his home. As he entered, his brows furrowed when he saw the dilapidated condition of the church. It was dusty and didn’t look like a place to live.
“Take a seat, I will bring something for you in the meantime.”
“Ah…you don’t need to “Arthur stopped the boy before he could leave.
“What is your name?”
“It’s Jeff sir.”
It rang a bell inside Arthur’s mind.
“You are Jeff. I see. Rune told me about you” he said nonchalantly but his casual comment drained the blood out of the boy. His face turned pale while he started to shake in anxiety.
“You…. you know Lord Rune.”
“Yes, I do. He told me everything about you and told me you are a good kid so now if you will excuse us by giving us a decent room?”
Jeff, who was scared earlier, felt good after he got to know that Rune said good words for him. Like a kid who got his favorite candy, he was happy. His eyes twinkled in pure excitement.
“Yes…. Sure. Give me a second. Never mind, just follow me.”
Valdis was confused but he kept mum. Without any further ado, they both followed Jeff and landed themselves in a decent room.
