A Fallen Knight-Lost art of Necromancy - Chapter 237
“My hopes were all crushed by a big boulder but magically after several years, I found a girl that looks exactly like young Jenna. Wearing tattered clothes, she had nothing but terror in her eyes, seeped to the bones. She was feeding from a trash can when I saw her. I immediately recognized her.”
“How couldn’t I? She was the mirror replica of her mother. She was fleeing that day from their clutches, but it wasn’t an easy feat. She was once again captured in front of me. Crying like a baby, she begged them to let her go until her throat turned sore ”
“And we both know how the people are,” Arthur chimed in.
“Yes, my lord. They were animals in human skin. I couldn’t bear to see her in such a state so I bought her from there. Trained her for months, fed her, groomed her. And I saw an opening to change her life when you asked me to change the staff. I put Laura’s name on the list”
“Believe me, lord, the child is innocent” He crawled at Arthur’s feet and begged him to forgive him as well as spare Laura.
“She is an innocent lord. Please, I beg you” He cried like a freak. It was Arthur’s first time seeing Dennis like this. It was weird to see a middle-aged man wailing like this, gripping his feet.
“Aaah. There, there Dennis. I did tell you I will consider sparing you and your family”
Dennis was immediately thrilled.
“You sure, Lord”
“I am Dennis”
“What if I told you, there is a way. I could forgive you, but you need to answer my question first”
“I will answer anything but please just spare her”
“Alright. Then tell me what you will choose. Do I spare your life, or should I kill her and let her come back to life? A fresh new start for her”
“Speak””
“Spare her life Lord,” he said in a heartbeat.
Twist!
And all the blood spurred like a frenzy. Arthur had stabbed a dagger through his heart.
“I said I was considering, not that I did forgive any of you” Bringing out a new handkerchief, he wiped his hands clean.
“Ugh…I hate doing this. Only if you had told me the latter part, I would have spared you. That’s what you get for boring me”
Duchy!!!
Knock Knock-
“Who is it there?”
“Lord. It’s me, Laura. You asked for cookies, I brought it”
“Oh my!”
“It’s my lovely Laura. Come inside darling”
Click!
The door opened and Laura entered.
“Head butler told me that you asked me to serve you tonight. May I know how I should help you out?” She asked cautiously as she placed the plate of cookies on the table.
The night was silent, and the wind was blowing softly. A figure was sleeping in a white gown looking like a fairy descended from the sky. Her breathing was steady, and her skin was shining porcelain white under the moonlight coming from the window. She was sleeping like a baby with all her guards down due to which she was not able to sense the upcoming danger.
Arthur’s castle was quiet, and everyone was asleep but thus quietness was the quietness for the upcoming storm.
The guards were guarding the whole villa. One assassin came from behind and covered the guard’s mouth from one hand and the other at the back of his neck and twisted it effortlessly. The same thing happened with other guards when other assassins came and did the same thing to other guards to not be aware of other people living in the villa. They did this to not make victims scream out of fright. When this was done, all assassins looked towards the shadows approaching as if waiting for it to emerge. The woman with two men and one girl slowly came out in the light and came to the front gate. The woman, leading them, had eyes that were cold and evil and had an aura of menace around her. The woman was carrying a dagger while two men named Hector and Hugo and a girl named Adriana were carrying swords.
She swiftly entered the villa without any noise with all of them. The castle she was familiar with, pretty too well familiar.
All assassins also remained quiet as if no one was there. These were one of the best and trained very hard all their life before giving them any mission.
She stopped at the hall and ordered them while moving her index finger in a circular motion, “Spread Around”. Her voice was firm, cold, and low.
Adriana, Hector and Hugo with Vladella went towards Ceil’s room while all other assassins spread around to stop any commotion caused in any case. Hugo opened the room for Vladella, and she entered. Skillfully she knocked Ciel down and turned her unconscious.
She stepped aside and ordered Hector and Hugo, “Take her” and with that, she left the room. She came out and looked towards Arthur’s room for a while with evil intent in her eyes. To make sure that her breathing was steady but not like that of a sleeping person, Adriana checked her and then motioned her mates to come and pick her up. They joined Vladella out of her room. With Ceil with them, Vladella led them out of the villa quietly with all other assassins and left the villa as if all that happened was not even a reality.
Arthur was sleeping in the room beside the study. Usually, he sleeps in his master room which was beside Ciel’s but with everything on his plate, he somehow fell asleep there only. He was unaware of all the trouble he was going to face tomorrow morning. And the fact that it was happening under his nose will make him lose the cool out of him. At least that is what she thought.
While on the other side another storm was brewing, she presumed it.
“Here for me dear aunt?”
Arthur who was sleeping was now completely awake.
“Did I scare you aunt?” He chuckled.
“How could you, dear Arthur. I see, you too feel for the woman. It’s not wrong to say Men’s have weaknesses when it comes to love”
“Well, it’s vice versa” He refuted back.
