A Genius Healer Who Can Treat Instantly but Was Banished From Party Considered Doing Nothing - CH 32
Chapter 32
“Oh, well this is a surprise.”
At the top of the hill, ‘The Guide’ shouted in astonishment.
“What the hell was that? It looks like a special class of magic, maybe even more.”
The lens of the telescopic magic tool shows a man with black hair and a black cloak.
Thinking back to the appearance I had heard from my client, that man was probably the target, Zenos.
The injured people lined up in front of the man were recovering in an instant.
I had heard that he was a great healer, but I hadn’t expected it to go this far.
“Very good, Mr. Zenos. I always do love people who exceed my expectations.”
Will I fall to my knees in sheer despair, racked by feelings of helplessness and loss?
Or will they look forward, trying to resist even a little?
As I watched with interest to see which he would choose, I realized that the man was very serious about helping all the injured people.
I was curious to see which he would choose.
I hadn’t expected to find such a talent in the slums.
“You’ve won the first act, I’ll give you that. Let’s see how the second act goes.”
The injured could be treated, but unless the golem itself was dealt with, it would not solve the root of the problem.
The destruction of the city is steadily progressing while we watch with our fingers crossed.
“What’s next, Zenos? Let’s see what you can do.”
= – =
“Teacher, I can’t find any more injured people.”
“None of Linga’s men have reported any injuries.”
“Same for the orcs, Zenos.”
“Oh, I’m so tired…”
In a vacant lot in the favela.
Zenos sat down on the spot after completing a series of healing procedures.
I instructed those who had been healed to stay as far away from the golem as possible, so the only ones left here were Zofia, Linga, Lev and a few of his men, plus Zenos and Carmilla.
“Thanks to you, it looks like there were no casualties.”
“Oh. That’s good to hear, but we still have to deal with that…”
Zenos said in a tired voice.
The golem was still occasionally roaring and randomly destroying houses.
From behind the billowing smoke, the behemoth was slowly approaching.
“‘Carmilla, what the hell is that thing?”
“As I said before, it’s a synthetic life form with a core made of a specialized magic stone.”
“If we leave him alone, will he eventually get bored and just leave?”
“That’s not gonna happen. A golem never stops until it has fulfilled the orders it has been given.”
“What the hell, he should have had enough by now.”
In this case, the order given was probably “destroy the slums”.
Aside from the deflated Zenos, Carmilla looked uncertain as she continued.
“But I don’t understand… The high quality magic stone that has to be used as the core of the golem can only be found in the southern continent where the castle of the Demon Lord was located. I’m sure most of it was taken away in the Human/Demon War 300 years ago. The Dark Magic system has long since been lost, and the materials for refining it aren’t easy to come by. Who on earth could have done this…?”
There’s no way to make a perfect golem with today’s technology, Carmilla declares.
“Even if you say that, it’s right in front of you.”
“Well, yes, but…”
Zenos sighed and slowly stood up.
“It’s no use. It’s a pain in the ass, but I think I’ll end my break and go.”
“‘Go to…? Where are you going?”
“Where am I going? – To kill that golem, of course.”
“–!”
As Carmilla’s eyes widened, Zofia spoke up from beside her.
“Teacher, we’re coming with you.”
“Are you sure? I’m not sure I can afford the hazard pay.”
The three demi-humans looked at each other and nodded strongly.
“Of course it’s okay. We can’t just sit back and let them destroy our home.”
“This is Linga’s city and we will not allow it to be destroyed.”
“Oh, I should remind you how scared we are.”
“…Okay. That’s good to know. I’m basically a back-up kind of guy.”
Zenos asked the Wraith, who was floating fluffily behind him.
“Carmilla, how do I defeat the golem?
“You have to destroy the magic stone located somewhere in the body. If not, it will regenerate over and over again.”
“Destroy the magic stone…”
Zenos swiveled his shoulders.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to fight since I was banished from my former party.
The man in the black cloak cocked his head and said in a tone with zero motivation.
“That magic stone can’t really be bought or sold off, can it…?”
A feather that was once stripped from an immortal bird and discarded.
The jet black phoenix that had fallen to the ground was now spreading its wings in the dark night.
