A God’s Apocalyptic Entertainment - Chapter 155 Cry For Help
We finally moved from the outskirts of the town and closed in on the last group. Unlike the Daylight guild these Danger fellows had some sense. We had barely walked close to the Daylight guild before they started to bombard us with their magicians and archers.
Of course this did no damage to us; we were too high a level. Well that and our new gear. We ourselves had trouble killing the Empire group as they were wearing this gear which we couldn’t attack through. So for players that were only level 15-17 max to try, it was honestly stupid.
Thanks to that I didn’t feel any remorse when I killed them, it was better to have a reason to kill them, then to just start a massacre, it was better for my mental health.
I had done some experiments with one piece of armour we acquired from the empire though. With my new weapon that was leagues above the others I had before, I tested how sharp it was. And the results honestly shocked me; it couldn’t cut through the armour like a knife through butter. But if I was to put some real pressure behind the strike I could easily cleave through it.
I was ecstatic at the find. If I had this weapon while we were fighting it would have been much easier. No wonder I got it as a reward for taking them down.
After the Daylight guild attacked us, it was an obvious crushing defeat that ensued. Not having anything that could truly harm us, we sprang into action. I didn’t get much of the action as Rose and Ella being long ranged fighters took out many of them.
But because they were so far away they couldn’t exhibit one of our major trump cards. It was only at this point fighting people that were 10 levels below us that I found out the true terror of our aura. The aura that was produced by ‘Progenitor’. This one skill stopped any and all of them from moving with a thought.
Once they were within range of the skill all I had to do was think the words death and they would either kill themselves or for the lower level ones, die on the spot.
The first time it happened it honestly shocked me and all around. I had stopped and so had those that were attacking. Their faces that already had terror painted on them got even worse. I tried not to dwell on the skill as we continued to kill and suppress them.
As I had only used the skill at full blast while fighting the Empire group I didn’t know how deadly it truly was, it was a step above the skill that had come before it. It truly made me wonder if the Empire group that was already so hard to beat, was being suppressed by such a skill the whole time. What would they be like if I didn’t have the skill?
But after cleaning up the whole group and lamenting the fact I couldn’t take away all their gear, I decided not to use the skill normally. Meaning I would only use it in battle and not having it around me at all times.
I could still control that much.
Taking down the Daylight guild and killing all those that ran for it, the most time consuming process in taking them down was using ‘Demonic Kiss’ With so many bodies before us using the skill took way too long!
The returns we were getting for using the skill was minimal at best and the thought crossed my mind to just leave it be. But I shook my head and continued to use it. Even if it was small it would accumulate, and it gave me an excuse to get a better control of the skill.
Focusing on moving the devouring energy outside my body and away from my skin, I was trying to control it into multiple groups, or tendrils, that could latch onto many bodies at the same time.
Ella and Rose also caught on to what I was doing and tried the same. We didn’t make much progress but I felt if we did the skill would level up.
Being done with them and taking only their supplies of water and some food, we moved back through the city and came to the outskirts where the Danger guild was. I was a bit annoyed that they didn’t attack us and showed now hostile intentions.
They were smart and knew they couldn’t win I guess, so they wanted to maybe make a deal? They must still want the city token as well, but had nothing of interest for me.
*Sigh*
I let out a small sigh as I looked at the group that was in a neat like order. Their leader was at the front and waiting for me, while the rest didn’t make a move. The sound of their voice turned quiet and disappeared as I made my way closer.
‘Brother, eat them now?’
Ella’s small voice sounded in my head as she sent me a questioning look. I just shook my head in response.
‘Let’s hear what they have to say first, then maybe eat them.’
Ella understood and pulled back the small killing intent she had been producing. Yes by this point in time I could differentiate a bit of killing intent from people. Most likely the help of the danger perception skill, it made me realize these minute details. It was a good skill to have in a wasteland like this.
Getting close to their leader he walked forwards in a stiff manner and I could tell he was scared. But as he finally got closer and saw both Ella and Rose he stopped for a second, his eyes widening and jaw dropping slightly. I know they are beautiful and all, but could you keep a straight face mate?
It was no wonder in the next second I felt the killing intent of both Ella and Rose spike in his direction and he stepped back as if physically hit. Rose hated such looks from men, no doubt being a slave influence that, while Ella had been reading up in the library and had figure some things out.
God it was embarrassing the first time she came to me with one of those questions and realized what those people were trying to do, that one time I went into town. She destroyed a few book cases and other objects at that time. I had to calm her down before she went overboard at that time.
*Cough* *Cough*
Coughing awkwardly the man that was their leader regained some composure and didn’t dare to look their way anymore. He stared straight at me as he got closer and put his hand out.
“It is a pleasure to meet the Demon.”
I saw no harm in stretching my hand out to shake his when he offered to, it was a nice human interaction, one of few I did these days. But my hand stopped when he spoke and I finally released some killing intent.
Demon!
How did he know?
The man’s face paled as he noticed the slip of his tongue and the killing intent surrounded him, his knees wobbled but he kept his dignity, he didn’t piss his pants under the pressure.
“What do you mean Demon?”
My voice was chilly as I spoke to him. If he knew Ella was a demon that meant all the players knew about that fact, but how did it slip? None of them should be able to see her status at their low levels. It would cause more danger for them if all players knew this, maybe telling some of the cities.
The empire already found out and sent so many people to kill him. And they were much higher level as well.
His body shook even more at my cold words and I squinted my eyes to see if he would lie. He stuttered his response.
“T-T-That is the nickname t-t-t-that we call you by.”
“WE?”
“T-t-t-the Immortals sir-r-r.”
I could see he wasn’t lying and by immortals I knew he was talking about the players. But why would they give me such a nickname? Wasn’t it too much of a coincidence?
I was about to grill him more on the subject when something happened from behind him, a small commotion was starting, my ears naturally sharpened at the sight.
“help….help….help…..help”
A group of tall people were standing near the back of the group. Most notable was the height of the people that was in the group, they were generally 5 cm taller than everyone else. My eyes turned into slits as they shifted to the guild leader in front of me. He was staring at my face not bothering to turn around.
His face had turned paler than before and the sweat on his forehead was insane. His heat beat could clearly be heard at such a distance, and it was going like a rabbit.
My spirit vision focused over and past him to the group at the back. Through it I could see the signatures of all the people and those behind them. Behind the tall group I saw 5 smaller signatures they were surrounded by the taller ones. And at the moment a tall signature was doing something to one of the small signatures.
And that was when I heard a small voice from one of the groups at the side, not reading the mood he made an offhanded comment to the person besides him. He said it in a whisper showing that he did have some sense, but my ears and those of Ella and Rose heard him.
“Damn slaves.”
My eyes turned cold at the words and I realized what happened, and with the smaller figures, could they be…..
Before my thought process could go any further and all-encompassing anger flooded me. It wasn’t produced by me, nor Ella. Rose who was behind us was where it was coming from.
The only time I had seen her this mad was when we killed the Elder Elf.
