A God’s Apocalyptic Entertainment - Chapter 164 Comb
The trade window was really simple in the end. It was a grid like box that appeared in front of me. I just had to think of the orbs I wanted gone and they would appear. Then a small number for how many points would be transferred would appear in the bottom right corner.
I had no use for any of the gear or items that the orbs contained. They had no health or mana potions as I had already taken them and put them in my space ring.
(Confirm trade?)
(Yes/No)
Having dropped all of them in, I confirmed the trade and watched as my entertainment points shot up, before finally a new number appeared.
(Entertainment Points: 456,969)
A small grin appeared on my face, I almost had 500,000 points!
From there I had to decide what was important. With the excess EP I decided to get the basic storage for Ella, me and Rose. Right away that was 150,000 which hurt a little. Left with 300,000 again I bought quite a few storage rings.
It took me a while; to find them though, in the end I had to ask Hunter for help once again. I thought that the storage rings would be in the special category but they were actually in the gear category, which made me want to smack myself. It was such an obvious answer.
But he did say something interesting when I asked about the rings.
“Yes you’ll only find them in the blue tier and higher sections.”
His words reminded me that I had to ask him about the tiers. He would have to have a lot more information coming from a merchant background, and I could use all the information I could get.
“So you have only got up to orange gear?”
I left my question ambiguous hoping that he would explain it to me and somehow that worked.
*Sigh*
He gave a small sigh as he started to talk.
“Yes I only have up to Orange gear, to find something of a higher tier would require me to be at such a higher level. I’m sure you know about the tier system for gear.”
I slowly shook my head, and I could swear he popped a vein on his neck. I even heard him say under his breath as he rummaged around for something on his cart.
“What type of bad education did this guy have?”
After a while he finally pulled out a sheet of paper and told me the relevant information. After looking at the piece of paper though I got the general rating for gear, and I started to appreciate how lucky I was to get some purple gear so early on.
(*Gear Tier Rating*)
Grey: Eg Beginner gear- level 1-5Bonus:0
White: Eg Padded Gear- level 5-10Bonus: 1
Green: Eg Elf Armour, Combat Armour- level 10-30Bonus: 2-4
Blue: Eg Empire Armour- level 30-40Bonus: 6-10
Purple: EgEmpress Necklace- level 40-50Bonus: 12 – 15
Orange: Eg ????- Level 50-75Bonus: 18-20
Black: Eg ????- level 75-90Bonus: 30 -40
Legendary: Eg ????- level 90-100Bonus: ????
God: Eg ????- lev 100+Bonus: ????
Purple gear was stuff that was fit for level 40’s! For Ella to get a necklace when we were barely at level 10, and then for us to get the ‘World Bow’, ‘Thorny Whip’ and my ‘Origin Halberd’, we were too lucky in my opinion. But after all the hardship we had been through, I think the world owed us that one.
I was intrigued about the level 100+ gear, as just the mention of something going over 100, made me think that it was possible to level over 100. I had thought that it was possible that level 100 would be some type of cap. But if you could go over it, would that be the realm of god?
Would that be level I had to reach to get my revenge?
Judging by the exp needed to level up at level 27 it was looking pretty plausible.
I gave a small chuckle at my joke and gave one long look towards the horizon. I could almost see myself getting to that level.
(Storage ring (Blue) – 30,000 EP)
In the end I bought 6 storage rings. That was already 180,000 more EP down the drain, but I wanted each of us to have 2 storage rings. I also bought the last one for the group of kids. I had been taking all the EP they had earned since we turned them into demons, I had to provide something to them.
Well not that I wasn’t already looking after them and making them stronger.
Doing all that I took a quick peek at the gear that was purple tier, but had to close the tab really quickly. The prices were insane! Starting prices started at 200,000, and that was for the most basic gear. I didn’t bother looking at the blue gear as we already had a full set of them.
I then moved onto the skills that were up for offer. Like he said the skills he had were very little compared to the city pillar, I was sure he had less than 1000th of what could be up for sale. I saw a few that looked good; I was mainly looking for ones to buff my already existing stats, buffing myself for fights.
I also looked for powerful one shot skills but there were none. I didn’t need many defensive skills as I had regeneration and my tough armour. I could have given some to Rose if she ever got into trouble, but the problem was….They were all too Expensive!!!!!
All the skills up for sale where selling at prices far higher than the purple gear. All of them were higher than 1million EP. I couldn’t afford that even if I tried. I asked Hunter about it, but this was the normal price, even if I went into the city.
Being left disappointed in the end I decided to stock up on items. Using a lot of points I stocked up on food, water and potions. I basically filled all our storage spaces. Though I did leave a slot or 2 for something else.
You never knew.
Hunter had a huge smile on his face as we finished the transaction. He had just made a hefty profit and couldn’t contain himself. I had a quick look at my EP left.
(Entertainment Points: 89,969)
“Ok you can come out.”
Ella spoke behind me when I gave her the silent go ahead. I had interacted with Hunter long enough, and I wasn’t afraid he could do anything. At her words the kids that had stayed in hiding came out and joined us.
Hunters face turned to one of bewilderment as he looked at them approach. I saw his eyes shine and knew he used analyze. His eyes went even wider into shock as he looked between them, Ella and me.
“More Demons?!”
He said it in an excited manner and I felt a sigh coming on. His eyes that were shinning bright sent a small shiver down my spine. I knew he had a lot of questions on the tip of his tongue.
I held up my hand before he could say anything and looked at the sky. We had just set up camp when we ran into Hunter; it was getting really dark now. It was better to go and eat while talking.
Telling him our plan, he nodded his head in excitement and agreed to sit down with us.
And then started a nightmare. Hunter asked me questions left and right about my home planet and what it was like, while I tried to eat. Sometimes I answered to lead him on, others I stayed quiet to keep the mystery.
This went well on for 2 hours before I heard Ella’s voice from behind me.
‘Brother’
Her small voice sounded in my ear and I turned around. She was off to the side looking at me with shinning eyes; in her hand was a small brush.
Her eyes continued to shine as I knew what she wanted. Turning back to Hunter that had stopped talking, I gave him an apologetic smile. I was rejoicing on the inside though, I did want a little break after all this time.
“Sorry I have some other things to do. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“Ahh, ok.”
He replied as he looked between Ella and Me. Noticing the brush in her hands he gave me an understanding look, and a small sly grin. I just shook my head as I stood up and moved away. Getting a slight way away from the fire Ella found the perfect place and sat down on a flat rock.
She crossed her legs in a practiced manner and shook her head letting her hair spread out, finished with that she turned back to me and handed over the brush, a smile tugging at her lips.
I smiled back as she moved forwards just a bit, just enough room for me to also sit down behind her. Though there wasn’t enough room for me to cross my legs so instead I laid them out on both sides. She shuffled back a bit and leaned into me.
I could feel her heart beat as it started to slow down and our connection became stronger. I spoiled her a little too much when we did this.
I felt her content as she laid back and let her be. After a few minutes I finally nudged her to move forwards and she did. Although she did it begrudgingly. Shaking my head with a wiry smile I moved my hand between her hairs that draped all over me.
Running it through my fingers a few times I felt her happy emotions at my touch. Finally moving the brush up I started to slowly brush her hair.
This was something that we started doing recently. Just before we left the town, I had let Rose and Ella pack their stuff and anything they thought was important.
Rose of course took some books for her to read, plus essentials like food and water. Ella did the same, but after we set out on the road she had shown me the brush. She had pulled me forcefully away from the group one night and sat me down.
Seemingly embarrassed for a little bit I wasn’t sure what she wanted until she showed the brush and pointed to her hair. She didn’t have to say what she wanted at that point and I saw no harm. I had already thought of the many things, I wanted to be a better brother, a better family member.
I never really treated her well; I used her more as a tool than as family. And now that she wanted me to brush her hair I happily obliged. I used to do the same thing for my mother when I was younger, which helped out a lot. Unlike the brush that was made of wood and other breakable materials, I still hadn’t found anything that could cut her hair.
If I messed up while brushing, it wasn’t a split hair that she would have; we would have a broken brush!
Because of this fact I had to spend a lot of time doing it properly and slowly. Ella was content with the time it took and it also calmed me down. Sometimes we would talk while doing it; you know mundane things, maybe something new she learnt for the day, or just her feelings. Other times it would just be silent. It was almost therapeutic on the soul.
After the first night, I had been doing it since. It was now a normal thing for us to do. It would take about an hour if I was taking my time, which I usually did.
We both took the first night shift as everyone else went to bed. I kept an eye on Hunter who had a tent for himself. I may have shared a meal with him. But I wouldn’t sleep peacefully just yet.
For tonight, I would keep watch, followed by Ella and then Rose. They could handle him and alert the others if he tried anything.
Ella hummed a small tune as I continued to brush her hair.
The silver sheen lit in the moonlight was mesmerizing.
