A Good For Nothing - Chapter 58
Translator: Dragon Rider
By dim moonlight, He Zheng propped himself up and leaned against the bed, scrutinizing Li Zong’s face. With a prominent nose and thin lips, Li Zong appeared a man who didn’t really care much about other people’s feelings, but his eyes were extremely charming when they were open, as if there were two pupils in each of his eyes. Uncommonly black and sparkling, his eyes gave He Zheng a feeling that Li Zong was able to see straight into his soul, making him involuntarily fall prey to his charm.
He Zheng believed that it had been Li Zong’s eyes that had attracted him in the first place, and then his face, his body, his whole being.
Li Zong’s neck was also rather good-looking. It was of a gracefully curvy. Li Zong’s arm around his shoulders was long and strong.
‘How many men are there in this world whose each and every single bodily detail attracts me in the way that of him does?’ He Zheng wondered.
“How much longer are you going to be staring at me like that?” A bland, slightly bantering tone of voice was heard in the room.
He Zheng was taken aback, but this childe was not the kind of person who would feel guilty after being caught misbehaving. Instead, as if his deed was rather justifiable, he answered back in a very unreasonable manner. “Why were you pretending to be asleep when you knew I was peeping at you?”
Li Zong, who was somewhat resigned, slowly opened his eyes. For an instant He Zheng felt he was hallucinating, because he saw that the pupil of Li Zong’s left eye was golden and extremely beautiful.
But it lasted just an instant and soon disappeared. He Zheng believed that it was a mere hallucination.
“What’s wrong?” There was still a trace of huskiness in Li Zong’s voice, since he had just woken up.
“Nothing.” He Zheng lay prone on him. Li Zong, who didn’t feel He Zheng weighing him down, played with their hands. There was a Cartier ring around each of their ring fingers. The two rings of identical styles were almost worn in the same positions.
“Are you going on a business trip tomorrow?”
“Yeah. Are you leaving as well?”
He Zheng inclined his head. “Zu Zhichong said that we’re leaving tomorrow as well.”
Li Zong stroked his hair, as if thinking about something.
He Zheng was also a little upset. He had just begun to enjoy his marriage which involved sexual life when a short-term separation was about to be inflicted on them.
‘Never mind. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I should go and get some condemns of 0.01-centimeter thickness, and after we come back, we’ll have some serious fun,’ he thought.
“Oh, by the way, there’s something I’d like to talk to you about,” said He Zheng in a casual tone of voice.
“What is it?”
“I want to get in through the back door,” replied He Zheng.
After a brief pause, Li Zong asked a punny question. “Which back door are you referring to?”
He Zheng, who had never expected that telling dirty jokes was among this man’s many capabilities, instantly dissolved into chuckle and poked Li Zong in the shoulder. “Li Zong, you really never felt the burden of being an idol, did you?”
He patted Li Zong’s face. “I was referring to the back door mentioned in tons of dirty jokes. I want you to get in there.”
Li Zong hugged He Zheng’s waist tighter with his arm and asked in a bantering tone, “Who was that guy that said he’d never let anybody fuck him?”
“I don’t know. It’s not me.” He Zheng refused to admit to having made that remark, and then became annoyed from embarrassment. “Are you willing to hear me out or not?!”
“Go on.” This little guy was like a spoiled child whose mood was as erratic as the weather in June.
But in Li Zong’s eyes, this was what made him particularly interesting.
“I want a place on the special talents training program,” said He Zheng, looking sideways at Li Zong.
Though He Zheng had asked the question in a curt way, he was actually a little nervous, pondering how to effectively dissolve the awkwardness if he was refused.
“All right.”
“Um?”
“I said okay.” Li Zong curved the corners of his mouth in a smile.
“Wow. You are really let me get in through the back door just like this?” He Zheng was confused. ‘Isn’t Li Zong supposed to object?’
With a smile in the depths of his eyes, Li Zong pinched He Zheng’s face. Li Zong had smiled more smiles during these days than he had done in all the years previous to his meeting He Zheng.
“Yeah, because I’m high-ranking and powerful.”
He Zheng burst into wild laughter, patting Li Zong’s shoulder repeatedly. “I fucking love you, Li Zong!”
“Everybody knows that you, Childe He, hate me the most.” Li Zong slid a sideways glance at him.
He Zheng was blindsided by this sudden remark. He really used to dislike Li Zong very much, but that had been before he met him.
He Zheng mumbled, “You have only your excellence to blame for that.”
Li Zong pinched He Zheng’s face. “I’ll get you a place on the program, but you must promise me something first.”
“Um?”
“Promise me you’ll study hard and make progress every day.”
A chuckle escaped He Zheng’s lips, but he knew what Li Zong really meant. Li Zong wanted him to learn some skills in the Qingwei Sect. He Zheng inclined his head seriously and leaned against Li Zong’s shoulder. “Of course I will.”
As their aimless talk went on, night quietly took its leave and dawn promptly turned up.
Humans are the most miraculous creatures in the world, because they possess the most distinct and also the most independently systematic emotions. One never knows at which instant will affection take root and sprout in their heart. When he or she comes to realize it, the seedling in their heart has already grown into an exuberant tree, and he or she is often surprised that their affection for their loved one has become so deep.
