A Love for Three Lives:Monster King Don’t Forget Me - Chapter 37
Chapter 37 Is the Missing Fan Bone Back?
Ronghua raised her hand and snapped her fingers to signal someone. Xia Poyang looked at her oddly. The next second, a black cloud of mist appeared beside them. Those who recognized him knew that he was Shenyang, one of Ronghua’s right-hand men.
After the black mist dispersed, two men showed up. One man was dressed in black, carrying Xu Xin in his hand, who had been thrown away by Ronghua. Unexpectedly, Xu Xin had been caught by Shenyang and was obedient now. Maybe he had fainted from the torture by Shenyang, entirely held in the hands of Shenyang, without a struggle.
All over his body was blood. Had it not been for his face, no one would have dared to say that this was Xu Xin.
“Xu Xin?” Xia Poyang asked with doubt. This man was indeed Xu Xin, and his whole body was covered with blood, like the appearance of Mo just now.
Seeing him, Murong Zhe was not surprised. He sneered. “Was this woman avenging Mo’s suffering? She did a good job!” He thought and was satisfied with it.
Xu Xin had been tortured so severely by Shenyang that even his father couldn’t recognize him, let alone others. No wonder Xia Poyang didn’t believe it. Just like Xia Pumo before, even Murong Zhe couldn’t recognize him, let alone Xia Poyang.
Ronghua walked to him and said, “That’s the end of it?”
Half kneeling, Shenyang said respectfully, “As you command!”
Ronghua said, “So-so. It’s not cruel enough!”
Everyone gulped and thought, “Wasn’t it cruel enough? Then what was cruelty?”
“Xia Pumo had suffered all the injuries on Xu Xin’s body. She was copying Xia Pumo’s injuries on Xu Xin’s body. She was fighting for justice for Xia Pumo, and more than that,” they thought.
Rarely, Murong Zhe said to Ronghua with a grim face, “Is that enough? Is this the penalty for Mo’s injuries?”
Ronghua turned her head and asked, “So what else?”
Murong Zhe immediately showed a chilling smile, “Rip off his hands and feet and gouge out his eyes!”
Ronghua paused and thought, “It’s too cruel, but I like it.”
Xia Poyang immediately came forward and said, “Young master Murong, Don’t you think it’s too cruel?”
It’s alright if he didn’t say anything. After hearing his words, Murong Zhe became angrier, “Damn it! You don’t have a say in persuading me!”
Xia Poyang argued, “Even though he hurt Mo, we couldn’t solve it in such a way!”
Murong Zhe couldn’t help but sneer, “I am a demon, and the demon has no benevolence. He hurt my sweetheart, so I can use my way to solve it, can’t I?”
Xia Poyang was stunned and unable to refute what Murong Zhe said, so he didn’t say anything anymore.
Ronghua stood by and did not want to intervene because Murong Zhe was not easy to get along with due to his bad temper, and few people could subdue him. Moreover, she’d never seen him care so much about anyone, and there was rarely a person who could defeat him. Of course, she had to make good use of it. It seemed that this trip to the Realm of Humans was quite rewarding!
The two men had been in such a stalemate, but suddenly Xia Pumo moved.
Xia Pumo’s closed eyes slightly moved, which made Murong Zhe ecstatic. He lowered his head and said, “Mo, are you awake? Are you feeling better?”
Xia Pumo felt comfortable and hadn’t the feeling of post-injury. The first one he saw after opening his eyes was Murong Zhe.
“Zhe, what’s wrong with me? What happened?”
On hearing it, Murong Zhe’s expression of joy immediately changed, and he became angry.
“Zhe!”
“Don’t call me!” Murong Zhe turned his head. Although he held Xia Pumo in his arms, he didn’t look at him. Xia Pumo was helpless and knew that Zhe was mad at his bold behavior.
“Don’t be angry. I noticed that Ronghua was in danger before I went over.”
“You dashed to help when she was in danger, but hadn’t you judged whether you could stop it?”
“What if you were killed directly by him just now!”
“All right. Ronghua saved you and me before. I rushed to help when she was in danger. Besides, if you were in danger, I would do the same.”
Murong Zhe looked better after Xia Pumo said those words. Looking at Ronghua’s figure, he said, “Well, care about yourself first next time!”
With her back to them, Ronghua developed a tic in her face. “When can they finish talking?” She thought.
“Are you finished?” Ronghua was tired of listening and interrupted their conversation.
“If it’s ready, let’s go!”
Murong Zhe ceased smiling and stared at her silently for a while. He considered for a second and said, “Okay! Let’s go!”
Xia Pumo watched the two playing charades, knowing that there might be a secret between them. “Everyone has the right to keep a secret,” he thought.
“Let’s go!”
People remembered that there was still a man when Ronghua took back her fan.
People of the imperial clan of Sword rushed to him and greeted, “Patriarch….”
Murong Zhe picked up Xia Pumo and passed by Xia Poyang. Seeing this, the people of the imperial clan of Zither came forward, and one of them said, “Patriarch, let them go like this?”
Xia Poyang turned to look at him, “Are you going to stop them?” The man froze and did not expect that the patriarch, who had always been gentle, would say such words.
After Xia Poyang questioned the man, no one spoke again.
The people of the imperial clan of Sword were so busy with helping their patriarch and young master that they had no time to fight with Ronghua because these two men would die without prompt treatment. However, it was unexpected that the action to kill Xia Pumo almost killed themselves.
Ronghua turned around and put her hand lightly on her lips as if she were bearing something. When Murong Zhe walked past Xia Poyang holding Xia Pumo in his arms, Xia Poyang subconsciously held Xia Pumo’s hand.
“Mo,” he called him in this way, which seemed to prevent him from leaving.
Ronghua spoke before Murong Zhe opened his mouth.
“Patriarch Xia, you’d better let him go. After all, he is not the previous Xia Pumo, but now he is my brother— Ringo.”
Xia Poyang looked at her and suddenly narrowed his eyes. “Miss, thank you for saving Mo, but don’t play this kind of joke!”
“Are you kidding? Mo is my brother and raised by me. You are not allowed to talk nonsense!” Xia Poyang thought.
Ronghua laughed out loud and said, “Ha-ha… you ask him whether it is or not!”
Xia Puyang turned to look at Xia Pumo, “Mo…”
But he did not react, nor did he object to Ronghua. He seemed to have known about it for a long time.
Xia Puyang couldn’t stand it. “You are my brother, and you grew up with me,” he said so.
“Now, you recognize her as your sister. Mo, what’s the matter with you? Do you hate me that much?”
Xia Pumo didn’t want to speak and even didn’t glance at the patriarch from beginning to end, nor did he call him brother. It’s unknown whether he hated him or was afraid of revealing flaws when he spoke.
Ronghua came up to him and said, “Patriarch Xia, if we are destined to meet, we will meet again. Now I’m going to take Mo away. I hope when we meet again, we’ll still be strangers, not enemies.”
He didn’t know what to say as they left. Judging from Ronghua’s behavior just now, he’d better not be her enemy.
But he could guarantee that he would do his best to protect Mo from now on. After all, he had made Mo lose his confidence in him ten years ago. Instead of believing him, Mo resorted to those evil sects and finally stepped on the way with no turning back.
So now, he believed in Mo’s choice, whatever the outcome. Even if the imperial clan of Zither was the enemy of other clans, he was willing to face the hazard. Protecting Mo had been his vow since he was a child, and his failure to keep it had hurt Mo and left him criticized and encumbered in the world.
He knew that Mo had suffered a lot since he left the clan, but he could not find him because he knew the seriousness of the consequences. His father also said before he died that Mo was not an ordinary person, and he was not destined to stay in the imperial clan forever. Maybe this was a chance for him to show his ability. He was ambitious, and he will leave sooner or later to reach a stage, which was beyond their imagination.
Ronghua said, “Murong Zhe, let’s go!”
Ronghua gathered a ball of light in her hand and threw it directly in front of her. When the light ball landed, it quickly changed into a big circle, which was big enough for a man to pass through.
Xia Puyang looked at her in shock. She could not only easily make up a short formula, but could also directly tear open the space crack and then took them away. Fortunately, Mo followed her. At least he would be safe and not go the way he couldn’t. Moreover, with Murong Zhe’s protection, Mo would be safe even if he were not there.
Ronghua went in first, and Murong Zhe followed with Mo in his arms. At the moment of entering, Xia Pumo finally looked up at Xia Puyang with a smile on his face. Xia Puyang saw it and knew that he had forgiven him. In relief, Xia Puyang was finally allowed to forgive himself.
After they left there, Ronghua quickly found a place. As soon as they went out, Ronghua was leaning against a tree and spitting out large mouthfuls of blood. Xia Pumo was frightened by her, but Murong Zhe was calm. “Every day she does the same, but today she may use too much spiritual power, so she vomits more blood,” he explained.
Xia Pumo didn’t doubt Zhe’s words, knowing that it was reasonable. If there were other harms, Zhe would not sit idly by, so he no longer worried about her. But seeing her in such pain, he couldn’t think of any way to help her.
Ronghua was holding the tree and spitting blood. Looking at the fan in her hand, she knew that she had used it too many times today. Unexpectedly, although this fan was her natal artifact, she still could not fully control it.
She had no idea where the fan came from, except that it had been beside her when she was born. She could manipulate it and cultivate it, but she had never found out what it was.
As soon as she got the fan, she knew its name— Yan Ge ripple map. The name stuck in her mind in an instant. She did not know why a fan had the same name as a painting, but later she realized that the fan was only a form of it, and its real shape might not be just a fan.
Ronghua caressed the iron fan. It was not complete, and two ribs were missing. One was given to Mengta and wasn’t back. The other had gone somewhere she didn’t know. However, she could feel that it was very close to her now.
“Ronghua,” Xia Pumo suddenly shouted, “something is flying towards you!”
Ronghua looked up, only to see a mass of black stuff flying towards her. While Xia Pumo was speaking, she picked up the fan and raised her hand to stop it. The power of it was so strong that Ronghua’s whole body bent back. She found that at the moment when the fan stopped it, something flew into her fan. Ronghua did not know what it was, and it was unexpected that something could get into the fan.
When Ronghua picked the fan up, she found there was one more fan bone in it. Ronghua was very confused that the fan bone unexpectedly flew back by itself. This is impossible.
“It comes again, Ronghua.”
Ronghua turned her head and saw that another bone flew back.
Both of them had come back. Now she reckoned that what had happened wasn’t simple. There must be some reasons.
This fan bone seemed to be familiar to her. But she was very clear that the reason for the loss of another fan bone must be related to her lost memory, which she could not find back. Besides, she lost her cultivation after it but seemed to reborn. She always thought of many things from time to time but didn’t know what exactly it was, which deeply distressed her.
She had referred to many books and thought of asking her mother, but her mother always deliberately avoided this question. She knew that her mother would not help her solve this problem, so she had to figure it out on her own.
Her mother would only tell her how to find the answer in her heart. Ronghua refused to find it by herself slowly, so she saved this step and waited for the fan bone to find her on the contrary. But it hadn’t yet been back after a long time.
“I have been looking for it for a long time. What is the missing part of my memory? It must be essential. Otherwise, I will not have such a strong desire to find that memory,” Ronghua thought.

“Ronghua, are you alright?” Xia Pumo asked her anxiously.
Ronghua looked back and smiled softly. “Nothing! It’s just the fan bone coming back.”
“The fan bone?”
Ronghua said, “Yes, my fan bone that has been missing for so long is back.”
