A Path Of Bone And Poison - Chapter 73 Clearing the Instance
I left the others in the lab. The looked at me with a concerned look, but they would not be able to keep up with what I was about to do. Besides, they had worked hard, and deserved to rest.
Hylia would not stay behind, attaching herself to my shoulder. I could only let her come with, after all this is one girl whose bite was worse than her bark.
Sierra and Leisha wanted to come with as well, but I adamantly denied their request. I was not being conceited, but they would simply get in the way. They would become a liability. They were barely capable of handling a C rank dungeon, with my help. They stood no chance against the millions of B rank mobs out there.
When I stepped out of the castle the Ice Ghouls became furious, but they still did not dare to approach the gate. Their instinctive fear of the lich was far too great at this point.
There was no good place to start, so I simply chose a direction. I did not use my blade nor my bullets. It would take far too long. For this only my grenades would do.
Their damage was pitiful compared to the others, but their range was immense. 5 meters was enough to damage around 300 ghouls. It would be by far the most bang for my buck. Even if I had to fire ten grenades, it would be the quickest way to do it.
Because it was a signature spell, Bone and poison grenade had no cast time. They also required no accuracy. I could theoretically fire an infinite amount in a second. But the truth was that was not the case. I had the potential to do so, but my ability was still limited by my own processing power. 10 per second would be limit. this included both of my hands.
I quickly checked the timer. We had already survived for 8 hours of the 18 hours we had to survive for. It would just barely be enough.
What followed was a seen so gruesome it would have been edited out of movies. For the next 9 and a half hours I utilized my grenades and shadow movement to the max.
I would use shadow movement, cast 10 grenades and then use shadow movement again. Every time my stealth was broken, I would move through the shadows. Every time I reappeared hundreds of ghouls would die.
This would not have been possible without all my various bluffs. Especially my title [War’s Mistress]. The heritage ability I received was of it most importance as well. Not only did it constantly supply me with stamina, but it was unavoidable that I would get hit.
My hp would drop rapidly in that instant I reappeared before moving. The ghouls completely lacked defense, but they were fast and strong. The briefest of moments was enough for my hp to be drained to 10%. Thankfully because of the grenades and my aura it would be filled again instantly. The two abilities combined really were a cheat.
When the last group of the ghouls fell, I froze. The adrenaline in my body had long since run out. I was simply moving by instinct at this point.
As I looked around, I noticed I was far from the castle, and yet I could see two figures walking towards me. A cold smile crossed my lips, as I could feel my body slipping backwards. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was soft signs of the sun rising. We had done it. We had beaten this damned place. We were going to live.

I woke up in my bed, on my chest I could feel the rhythmic breathing of a familiar tarantula. Without opening my eyes, I reached down and stroked her fur. I could feel a soft tapping on my chest and a soft purring sound. It was a little creepy, but I had learned that this was a show of affection.
I could also feel a body on either side of me. It seemed the girls were not content on the couch and would rather take up the bed. I moved my hand to the left, only to feel something I had grown vastly familiar with in the last few months.
The object was rather large and squishy, and provoked a moan from the girl. The moan was rather erotic, causing the girl on my other side to stir. Worse, the moan woke up Hylia, who immediately bit my boob.
I quickly tried to explain that it was an accident, but she would hear none of it. I couldn’t help but sigh. Normally waking up with three women would be a dream. But for me it was more of a nightmare.
I quickly excused myself from the situation, but as soon as I opened my eyes I was assaulted by a huge amount of notifications from the system.

[Tattoo of unbounded Fate] (Unique) (Legendary)
Your fate is not one to be trifled with. Your existence is something that not even the Gods can interfere with casually. You are immune to all new blessings and curses, and all curses previously cast upon you are lifted. This tattoo is permanent and indestructible. Any effects to damage or remove it will only end in the tattoo instantly repairing.
The tattoo appeared as series of rose pedals flowing freely on the rights side of my upper torso, between my armpit and hip.
The last disappeared as I was reading it, from what I had gathered was that my inherited power was bound to the dark and would be sealed. But when I checked the system log the message was not there.
After thinking for a long moment, I decided that the message must have conflicted with my new tattoo and was therefore canceled. But what kind of power was this vampiric magic that the system would attempt to ban it?
With the 100,000 coins I made a couple of purchases. The first was the skill [Perfect Dual Casting]. The ability completely got rid of the limitations of dual casting. I could now cast from both hands at the same speed and accuracy.
The second was the survival book I had seen earlier. It only cost 50 coins, but after experiencing the last instance I knew it was a must have. I purchased [A mortal’s guide to Divinity] as well. It was always good to know more about the gods.
I also purchased a couple of passive skills I realized I needed.
[Lightfoot] (Passive)
You leave no trail no matter the environment. Your steps make no sound. 10000 coins
[Dampen Presence] (Passive)
Even creatures far stronger than you must actively search if they want to find you. Your presence becomes less than that of a drop of water in the ocean. 50 skill points.
I spent over half of my coins, leaving me with only 40,000 left. But I was satisfied. I had gained incredible power, and for once I felt like my fate was my own.
