- Volume 1 Chapter 12 It's Not A Joke Anymore
Hwang Jaejin stole a glance towards the running taxi. Secretly, he heaved a sigh of relief. The only problem now was how to deal with this person in front of him.
“Huh? I thought I saw Choi Sujin-ssi with you. Where is she now? Lee Minho has disappeared, too.”
Park Jimin, the man who claimed to be Choi Sujin’s number one fan, as well as the one who had declared to be Choi Sujin’s future boyfriend, frowned as he looked passed Hwang Jaejin’s shoulders.
“What are you talking about? I came alone.” Hwang Jaejin calmly replied. He pulled a chair and sat down. “You don’t mind me joining in, right?” He said.
“Of course no. Please!” Park Jimin snapped his head back to Hwang Jaejin as he smiled cheerfully. He took a glance to the entrance for the last time in confusion.
He swore he saw his doll entered just now!
Hwang Jaejin found random topics to talk with Park Jimin. Good thing was Park Jimin was someone with brain. He was the fourth generation from the military family, after all. Even though he did not follow the steps of his brothers, cousins, uncles, father, and grandfather to enter military because of his unruly and unrestrained personality, he still had their above standard mind; clear and smart. Therefore, both of them managed to talk about various things easily.
After talking for a while and emptying a glass of cola, Hwang Jaejin found an excuse to go. Unhurriedly, he walked back to campus. But, as soon as he lost sight of the restaurant, he sprinted to the parking lot where he parked his bike. On his way there, he called Lee Minho.
“Where are you?” He asked as soon as his call got through.
“Y Hospital. What the hell took you so long to come here? Don’t you know I almost ran out of idea here?” Lee Minho’s voice came in a hush, but clearly agitated.
“Where is she?” Hwang Jaejin asked again as he put the key to start the engine.
“Bathroom. Come here quick!”
“I’m on my way.” Hwang Jaejin hang up.
He got on his bike and hit the road. Maintaining his calm, he swiftly avoided the other vehicles on his way there. When he finally arrived at Y hospital, he went to park his bike before he entered the building.
He asked for Lee Minho’s name, then walked to the appointed room after thanking the blushing nurses in duty.
This bastard, he muttered inside his heart, to actually think he would use this method to take her away, tsk tsk tsk…
Hwang Jaejin stopped in front of a door. Without giving it a second thought, he pulled open the door and closed it back only after he had entered the room. His eyes scanned the room; on the bed was the pale-looking Lee Minho, and sitting beside the bed while peeling an apple was the cute girl; Choi Sujin.
“Oh, you’re here?” Choi Sujin was the first who greeted him. She only looked at him with a fleeting glance, then returned to her activity of peeling an apple.
Hwang Jaejin walked towards them, putting his helm on to the table and his bag onto the couch. He then squinted his eyes as he watched the pale-looking Lee Minho wiped off his nonexistent sweat from his forehead. He crossed his arms in front of his chest while secretly showing his thumb to Lee Minho.
A grin appeared on Lee Minho’s face, but quickly disappeared. He secretly gave a thumbs up for Hwang Jaejin, too.
“Shorty, I’m hungry.” Lee Minho whined.
“What do you want to eat? Doctor said you can’t eat too much oily food.” She looked up as she put the apple on this bed.
“Pick for me. You haven’t eaten too, right?” Lee Minho put on his aegyo.
“Fine. Stop doing that. You’re disgusting.” She stood up, threw him a look of disgust, before she picked her bag from the couch. “What about you?” She looked at Hwang Jaejin.
“Anything’s fine. Thank you.”
“Okay.” After saying that, she walked out the room, ignoring the loud protest of Lee Minho who was fuming because she called him disgusting.
“Another one has successfully been chased away for a while, hopefuly.” Hwang Jaejin sighed as he plopped onto the chair where Choi Sujin was sitting on before.
“Their number has increased lately.” The expression on Lee Minho’s face turned serious.
Both of them fell into silence for a while. “Since when did we start to chase her suitors away? What will she say if she finds out we have been keeping her away from her future possible boyfriends?” Lee Minho asked.
“It’s all your idea.” Hwang Jaejin glared at him.
“I meant it as a joke!” Defending himself, Lee Minho glared back.
“Well, we both know it’s not a joke anymore. You even used your uncle’s power to falsify your illness.” There was a mocking tone in his voice.
“Hmph, I didn’t have any other reason to take her away from that place. Park Jimin is a strong suitor. Do you think we can keep her away from him? For how long?” Lee Minho harrumphed.
Hwang Jaejin did not look convinced. The idea of Choi Sujin having a boyfriend was agreed -between Lee Minho and Hwang Jaejin -as something that they would need to avoid. But, this Park Jimin was not someone with usual background. They would need 1001 crafty ideas to prevent them to meet.
“Oh, is that why you came to hospital?”
A voice startled them both as they steeled their hearts and looked towards the door.
