- Volume 1 Chapter 3 The Goddess Of Life Is Playing A Joke On Her
Dealing with his teasing early in the morning would surely make Choi Sujin’s day bad -the help from her Knight in Shining Armor was definitely appreciated and could overturn her mood in a flash. But, one thing for sure, she was glad she was not in the same department with Lee Minho. She couldn’t stand his teasing if they were to be in the same class every day!
Feeling slightly excited that she wouldn’t have to deal with the troublemaker in a minute, she increased the pace of her steps to get into the building, leaving Lee Minho behind and passing by the side of Hwang Jaejin a moment before she entered the building.
“Hey, Shorty! Where are you going?!” Lee Minho’s shouting could be heard even when the glass door had closed behind her.
Glaring at him for the last time, she practically ran towards the appointed room written in their syllabus.
“See you soon, Shorty!” His voice rang in her ears.
Choi Sujin cursed under her breath, her eyes filled with killing intent as her mouth chanting a series of curse involving Lee Minho’s long legs.
“Sujin-aa!” Someone pounced on her, effectively stopping her from her murderous intent. She looked up at the youth who was circling her arms around her shoulders. A wide grin decorated her face and her already small eyes squinted into a pair of thin lines, save the eyeliners she put on.
Her name was Jang Min Ah; Choi Sujin’s one and only friend from High School; The Diva.
“Min Ah-ya, can you not pounce on me like that? Don’t you know you’re taller than me which means you’re mostly stronger than me?” Choi Sujin protested.
“Who said that? I am only taller than you but I know for sure that you’re stronger than me. You don’t even sway when I pounced on you just now.” Jang Min Ah exclaimed in a matter of fact tone.
It was true, so Choi Sujin could only bite her lips begrudgingly.
“I heard some kids talking about a plastic mutant on my way here. They said she has big eyes, definitely an art from the surgeon. I was wondering who would that be.” Still circling her right arm around Choi Sujin’s shoulder, Jang Min Ah started walking, half-dragging the shorter Choi Sujin with her.
“What did she do to get the nickname?” Choi Sujin frowned. Being called a plastic mutant was definitely not a good thing.
“I heard she seduced Prince Lee this morning. Prince Lee called her Shorty.” Jang Min Ah stopped on her track, as if realizing something. She peered through Choi Sujin’s face who now had a change of air. “Shorty is…your nickname from him, right?” Cautiously, she asked.
Choi Sujin didn’t answer, but how her jaw moved when she gritted her teeth was more than enough to confirm Jang Min Ah’s suspicion.
“Damn those kids!! Plastic mutant, my *ss!! They are plastic mutants!! Their whole family is plastic mutant!!” Jang Min Ah flew in rage as soon as she realized the object of slander was her own dear best friend.
Her powerful voice filled the hall of the building. Good thing was there was no class at that time so no one would feel disturbed with her shouting like a middle-aged aunty next door.
Jang Min Ah was known for her beauty, but what was most popular from her was her unrestrained speech. She could speak like a middle-aged aunty or even worse, like a fuming rage uncle who only knew how to swear and curse people. But, despite her impolite speech, she had beautiful voice that could mesmerize people who were listening to her. She was a bit tomboy and she cared for the people closed to her a lot.
Choi Sujin, on the other hand, was known as a silent doll. Her doll like eyes, completed with her short body, made people think that she was not a college student. If she let down her fringe and put some make up on, she would pass the audition as the most realistic doll easily. Unfortunately, she hated it when people called her doll, or even worse, Shorty.
Still fuming mad, both of them got into the room and waited for the lecturer to come. Sitting in the corner, both girls were fully immersed in their discussion as to what to do and not to do to Prince Lee and his admirers who dared to call Choi Sujin as plastic mutant, so they failed to notice a pair of long legs came and stopped behind them.
“Hey, kid, do you need help to find your mommy?”
A mischievous grin plastered on his face -a face that deserved a punch or two.
Slowly, as if she was going to face her most hateful nightmare, Choi Sujin turned her head and her eyes widened when she found Lee Minho was standing up behind her back, grinning from ear to ear.
“Told you, see you soon.” He said provokingly.
“What are you doing here?” She asked through her gritted teeth.
“Oh, you have no idea? You must have missed some details when you read your syllabus.” Smirking, Lee Minho pulled the chair right behind her and sat down.
“We have several joint classes with Art Department for a semester.” The other prince, Prince Hwang, replied as he sat down beside Lee Minho.
Great!
Looking at the victorious smirk on Lee Minho’s face made her want to give him a round of beating -even though she had never punched someone before.
The Goddess of Life must be having fun, huh?! She is playing a joke on my life!
