A Supporting Character’s Love Story - Chapter 5
Ch 5
POV Akari Nakano
He is definitely gay. His breathing is getting heavier. He is definitely not acting this part. The question now is do they know each other? It’s their business anyways. I shouldn’t poke my head into such matters.
Just then his head turned around and our gazes connected for a moment. Fuck, he caught me staring. I will just pretend I didn’t see.
Then the self-introductions started.
When my turn came, I just said a few sentences and sat down. The reaction of the class was something I expected. Actually, I knew everyone was scared of me. The reason is because of a few rumours.
In middle school after the incident with that asshole, I got pissed at everyone who blamed me for it. So one day, I couldn’t take it anymore and beat up everyone who was bullying me. That year is something of a black patch in my life. It was only the next year that I stopped delinquency, when I met Shizuo and Hinata, and we became friends. The rumours from back then still continue on to this day.
When I heard Shinji Makoto’s introduction I suddenly felt pissed off. Why he Is showing that disgusting smile again?
“tch” I clicked my tongue annoyed at his fake persona. In response, he turned to me and flashed his smile at me. Disgusting.
As I was waiting for this boring homeroom introduction session to be over, I caught Makoto staring at Shizuo with a very soft gaze, as if looking at his lover.
No way. Is he bi? This pervert is not only going for innocent boys but also girls? No. I won’t let him even touch Shizuo. I wouldn’t have done anything if he minded his own business, but now he is staring like a pervert at my friends. I glared at him icily.

POV Shinji Makoto
Frick, what did I do now? She is looking at me as if I am a criminal. Guess I have to sort out my problems with her soon. Seeing as how Hiwari and Nakano are friends, it would be good to at least be on good terms with her. I also need to become friends with this Nishikawa fellow. Seeing that he lacks confidence it would be difficult to get close to him in a short time. What I need to do now is create an opportunity to mingle with everybody.
As I was wondering on how to dig out information on Hiwari and Nishikawa’s current relationship, the teacher started the next phase. Choosing the “Class Reps”. This title is more or less equivalent to the title of the saint in an RPG. The two people who hold this title have the power to move the general opinion of the common-folk easily. They are the ones who get direct commands from the teacher, and they can do anything in order to complete those tasks. Anything obstructing their path is obliterated. However, since this title is relatively easier to obtain than the unique titles there is a disadvantage as well. The holder of this title does not have much power when not following orders. Because of this few people are willing to take this role.
“Me” A girl in glasses from the front row raised her hand volunteering to be the Class Rep.
Ah it is the standard rounded glasses girl.
As for the boys no one did.
This is where politics come into play. The person who raises his hand now will be seen as someone who is willing to take a shot for his teammates. If he raised his hand from the beginning, he could not have accomplished this feat. This however works only if there is no one else willing to take this spot. You have to bet, and this fellow’s gamble paid off. The second person to volunteer was a pretty popular guy, second only to the Riajuu king. There were a few cheers and claps.
Finally, all pieces have been set. Homeroom is now over. Let us…
start classes. After all school is a place to study the rest comes later.

.
“Ding Ding”, the bell rang.
“It’s finally break.” I muttered and glanced at Nishikawa who was sitting quietly fidgeting around nervously as if unsure what to do.
“Hey, Nishikawa. Why were you so late on the first day?”, I asked him in hope of having some small talk.
“Oh, t-that was because when I was cycling to school I fell down in a puddle. Luckily I was not far from home so I went back and changed clothes and stuff which took time”
That’s cap. I don’t believe someone can just fall, and even more so the protagonist, who has the luck of several generations. There must be a deeper reason. But looking at his personality he doesn’t have the confidence to lie outright. He might be telling a half-truth.
“Man, that must have sucked”
“Yeah” he said glancing at Hiwari who was having a conversation with Tsukumo and Nakano.
Ho-ho so that’s what is going on. They must have met this morning, and something there must have caused him to fall down.
As we were having a conversation about hobbies and interests, the bell rang again and class started.
