A Walk Through The Eternity - Chapter 19
Adone went back to his own tent and placed the newborn cubs on the bed and covered them with a quilt.
Then a smile crept onto his face as he fiddled with the demonic core in his hand.
“Bionic chip try to analyse the demonic core and the ring mother gave me. Try to gain an understanding of essence by comparing both the objects”
[Beep! Mission Established]
‘At last some progress could be made on understanding the essence of this world’
He then crept on the bed as well besides the two sleeping infants.
Next day, the entourage started to move at a faster speed so that they could reach a city as they didn’t have a contact with any human settlement for 2 days.

At noon, a city as large as Earth’s any metropolitan city if not larger came into their view. The soldiers who were not able to take a proper bath for a couple of days were happy to see a city at last but they didn’t rush towards the city, breaking their formations instead they increased their vigilance and grasped their weapons, ready to attack any who restricted their prince’s path.
When the entourage reached the city walls the guards opened the door and bowed towards the carriage unwilling to lift their head until the carriage passed them as they recognised the royal crest on the carriage, after all, who would want to disrespect royal family.
Soon a bulky man rushed towards the entourage, he ignored the soldiers and captain any he walked towards the carriage but was blocked by the soldiers.
“You, a mere soldier dare stop me, the city lord of Yellow Stone City? Do you know that I could get you killed for this? Move aside, I have to greet both the princes” he roared at the soldiers with disdain and anger.
The all the soldiers had a mocking smile on their faces as their captain walked towards the bulky man who was clad in a luxurious yellow suit.
“Are you aware of the fact that you are challenging the authority of the second prince with those words? All the soldiers in the entourage are tasked with one and only one task that is to protect the second prince and as the second prince wanted to deal with the bandits near the border we are performing the task given by him.”
“Let me ask you city lord of Yellow Stone City do you have authority to command the soldiers under his highness’s command” asked another captain with a mocking smile.
What they were telling was true if not they would not be able to block a City lord even if the lord did not have any power to command them.

The bulky man shuttered for a while then started to prostrate himself on the ground while begging.
“Please forgive this lowly one, your highness. I didn’t mean to question your authority, I am a little stupid so I scolded your subordinate”
“Go to the capital and confess your wrongdoings to the royal court” A calm voice came from the carriage.
Liam whose cultivation was disturbed due to the commotion didn’t show any mercy to the fool and dealt with him according to the law.
The city lord kept trembling in rage and fear as they moved on.
They rested in an inn and went back to the journey after Liam had sent a letter the court to deal with the City lord of Yellow Stone City as even though he held power to execute the city lord himself but as part of nobility he should be shown some respect and should not be executed like a bandit.
They travelled for a day and a half before reaching their destination, the fort city on the northern border of Great Gran, the first line of defence for the citizens of The Great Gran from the demonic beast and barbarian tribes of the Waste Land, Black Fire City.

The city was built behind the walls of the fortress by the merchants who travelled from the Waste Land so the city was named after the Black Fire Fortress.
Law and order were maintained by the soldiers who were stationed at the fortress and was under the direct control of the military so that they could easily track down any foreign spies, trying to enter the country.
When Adone and company reached the city, they directly went to the fortress and the General who was stationed there came to greet them.
“Your Highness” the General gave Adone and Liam a military salute.
“It’s been a while, General Hammer, how is your spine” Liam said as looked at the general.
“The spine is recovered and is as good as new. I would like spar with you again if possible” The general looked at Liam with excitement.
“We can spare again if you want to spar but I can’t guarantee the fact that you would end up with just a spine injury like the previous spar” Liam said smugly.
“We should not give enemies any weakness to exploit so I think we should spar when we are in the capital” said General Hammer.

They entered the fortress and the interior was opposite of the black colour that made the fortress infamous, it was pristine White in colour without any blemish.
“Why is the colour of the fortress so black on the outside and white in the inside?” Adone shot a questioning look towards General Hammer as he asked.
“The Black Fortress is an ancient fortress which was constructed before the incident of the Necromancer and was white as a pearl in the inside and outside as well but the blood from that massacre of necromancer turned the fortress red and the blood from subsequent wars with the demonic beasts accumulated and turned into pitch black with time. All the generals prior to me never bothered to clean it up as they thought of it as an act of disrespect towards the fallen soldiers” General Hammer answered.
They soon reached the meeting hall where they all took their seats.
“General Hammer, you have so many soldiers in the fortress and the city as well, so how could bandits be active in the region” Liam asked.
“The bandits here were never a problem to us, once or twice there were some who tried to act near the fort but were slaughtered by the army but this time they are more organized and have large numbers divided into many small groups”
“When we send large forces they escape towards the Waste Land as it’s very difficult to hide marching of a large group and if we sent a few soldiers they could easily overpower them with their numbers” General Hammer told them the dilemma.
“I can’t use soldiers to surround them as the soldiers required to achieve the task would leave the fortress substantially weakened but with the soldiers, your highness brought we could surround them” Hammer continued.
“Why should we waste the manpower to search for the pests and kill them when we can bait them out of there holes like the rats they are?” Adone proposed resulting in all the men in the meeting hall to stare at him in shock as he was just a nine year old kid in their eyes.
