A Werewolf’s Seduction - Chapter 87
“I haven’t seen you since we got here.” She grumbled. “You dropped me off inside the palace and disappeared for a day and a night.”
In response, he again crushed her into his body, his moist tongue licking her neck, his lips kissing her skin. It was as if he was assuaging her recrimination with overwhelming physical intimacy.
He moved his lips upward, his hot breath tickling her face. Gently, he suckled her cheeks, and then he moved his lips’ exploration upwards to her eyes. His tongue darted out, tickling her lids.
Talia’s heart began thumping so hard she could feel her pulses racing. Her lashes fluttered and she closed her eyes. She could feel his tongue trailing kisses up to her temple, and then towards her forehead.
“Do you know how much I have missed you?” He whispered.
Of course she knew he missed her. He had bombarded her with mental messages, reaching out every few hours just to check in on her until she finally told him to stop so she could get some sleep.
“I’ve missed you too.” She nuzzled his neck, pressing kisses up as far as she could reach.
“You never need to worry about what I’m doing. We’re mentally connected. We’re always with each other, even if we’re physically separated.” He murmured.
“I know.” She gave him a reassuring smile. He had enough to worry about without having to wonder if she was jealous over shadows and specters.
“So what are you doing?” He looked around at all the trunks that had been dragged out of the closet.
“I was planning on using the closet area in between the two main bedrooms as a small bedroom.” She looked around.
Cedric’s eyes glowed with excitement.
“Oh you mean like a nursery?”
“Something like that.” Talia smiled.
“Let me call in some furniture makers and designers for the space. We can have it ready for our babies when they arrive.”
“No no, Cedric.” Talia laughed. “I was thinking of putting a youth bed in here so Devin can stay with us.”
“Devin?” Cedric raised a quizzed eyebrow. “But what about our own child?”
Talia scratched her head. He was thinking way ahead of her.
“By the time we have children, hopefully, you will have located your sister and he can stay with her.”
“Ah. Yes. You’re right, of course, Love.” He looked a bit disappointed, as if he was looking forward to setting up a nursery for his own child.
Talia laughed gently. He was so transparent when it came to these things.
“How is the situation with Count Larabee?” She asked, trying to distract him.
“He has pulled back for now, but something doesn’t quite ring true.” Cedric shook his head. “He has something up his sleeve, I can tell.”
“And what of your brother?”
“He has retreated to his country estate with his family.” He dropped a soft kiss on her lips. “Evelyn has also returned to her own home. Neither of them are going to bother you again.”
He looked around at all the trunks.
“I came to check on you, partly because I was worried that you might be bored, but obviously you seem to be keeping busy with all of this.”
“Partly?” She picked up on the one word.
“I also missed you.” He gave a sad smile. “I have so much work to do but my heart kept shutting my brain down because I wanted to see you again.”
Talia’s eyes shimmered.
“You know, we do have a second very large bedroom that’s on the other side of this nursery.”
Cedric gave her a questioning look. Was she throwing out hints at him that she wanted him right here, right now?
“Come.” Talia pulled on his arm and took him through the connecting door between the nursery and the second bedroom.
As he followed her, Talia began pointing to various pieces of furniture that occupied the space.
“We can take out the bed, and this, and this, and that. If we remove much of this furniture and turn it into an office for you, then you can always be near me even when you work.”
Cedric said nothing, merely looked at the space she was pointing at.
“I was told that this is supposed to be my bedroom, but Cedric, your bedroom is so large, maybe I can share—”
“Darling.” He shushed her with a finger to her lips. “You are the manager of my world. Arrange my life. Do with me as you will.”
“You’re okay with me sleeping there with you?”
He smiled. “Was it ever going to be any other way?”
Reaching out behind him, Cedric closed the door. He turned and gave the remaining attendants a distinct gaze.
Without a word, they quickly exited through the closet area and shut the door behind them as they left.
“Love, did I ever tell you the reason why we haven’t truly mated?” Cedric murmured into her hair, pressing kisses on her temples and her forehead.
“Umm, because I’m not married to you yet?”
Cedric chuckled as he led her over to the large bed and sat her down on its soft cushions.
“Haven’t I put a ring on your finger already?” He rubbed the soft leather band she still wore on her left ring finger. “Haven’t I marked you as mine?”
“I know we’re married. I wasn’t sure why we were waiting…”
Cedric smiled into her neck and growled softly.
“I waited so that I could be free and clear of Evelyn. As soon as I got back to the palace, it was one of the first things I did. I wanted to gift myself completely to you, without any ties, real or imagined.”
He began suckling her shoulder where he had bitten her previously.
“Now that I have sent out the decree that she and I are no longer engaged, I can offer myself to you without dishonor or hesitancy.”
Talia smiled. “I have your mark and a ring on my finger. I would have taken you, with or without that decree.”
“My Love.” He shook his head. “You are the Queen of my existence. There is not, and will never be, anyone above you. Do you understand?”
Talia nodded, tears suddenly springing into her eyes.
“I also want our child to be conceived with full rights of ascension assured. I do not want any ambiguity. There should be no possible question that the child of my loins will be the child I relinquish the throne to.”
“So what are we waiting for?” She murmured into his ear.
“No need to rush,” Cedric laughed gently at his eager mate.
He reached out and cupped her face with both hands. “We have plenty of time.. All the time in the world.”
