“Why should we pay the price for your mistake!?” The members of the younger generation asked as they thrashed the young man so hard that he lost his consciousness. This didn’t stop the beatings received by the young man.

Lin Li was shocked into silence after witnessing the actions of young geniuses. She never expected the impact of her son’s achievements to be so severe that they would fear cursing her!

“You don’t need to beat that guy now that he has fainted. Plus my son can’t hear what we are discussing here so you are beating that guy for nothing,” Lin Li said after a while. She actually felt sympathy for the young man seeing the mess he was in.

The younger generation was startled by Lin Li’s words. Indeed! That kid can’t hear us inside the pagoda! They stopped thrashing the young man.

“Have we beaten him for nothing?”

“I-I guess so!”

“But how come he formed the spiritual veins the very next moment we cursed his mother?”

“Was that a coincidence?”

“N-no! That kid is a freak! He almost achieved Manifestation which can be only achieved by someone at Divine Manifestation realm! So how can we judge him by common sense?! Perhaps he can see and hear everything around here through his divine perception!”

“Th-that’s impossible, right?”

“Normally it should be impossible! But that kid is doing one impossible after another! One can gain Manifestation at sixth realm but divine perception is achieved at fourth realm- The Divine Sea realm!”

The known cultivation realms in Endless Continent are Awakening, Blood Transformation, Golden Body, Divine Sea, Dao Awakening, Divine Manifestation, Divine King, World King, Empyrean, and Dao Ancestor.

A cultivator of Divine Sea realm can use an ability known as Divine Sense or Divine Perception by which one can see and hear to a large distance without using their physical organs!

“Now that you say it… it is indeed possible! If he can almost achieve what one can only achieve at sixth realm…achieving divine perception should be a piece of cake for him!”

“He has heard everything!”

“Yes! He can see everything as well!”

” We have to show the kid—young master that we are on his side!”

“We can’t show any kindness to someone who would curse at Young Master Han’s mother!”

The thrashing once again started. This time the force used was far greater than before as if to show Zhen Han they were on his side! The poor young man released screams even though he has fainted!

Lin Li: “………….”

“What are you Elders doing?! Or you want me to stop the younger generation? ” Lin clan patriarch shouted. The elders who were staring blankly waked from their trance. They saved the young man from his brothers.

Qin Auiru was amused by the scenes in the clan. His amused face angered the Lin clan patriarch who decided to remove his frustration on the elders.

“Is this how you train the younger generation? From tomorrow you will face the wall for a year,” Lin clan patriarch issued the punishment to the elders.

“Sir, it is not our fault! It was Lin Li who is responsible for this!” An elder tried to argue but he stopped when he saw the patriarch’s expression.

Lin Li’s mouth twitched. She couldn’t believe how her words had the opposite effect. She thought she would be helping the young man by saying her son couldn’t hear their words, but then the younger generation came up with a crazy theory!

A crazy theory which seems plausible but she knew her son doesn’t have that ability or at the very least he was not using it!

Otherwise, she would expect everyone who cursed her to die or make “love” with beasts just like what happened in the imperial capital two years ago! If her son heard the insults then she was sure the elders would be making love with demons and devils as they have asked her as if Zhen Han’s father was a demon or devil!

“Lin Yiruo was lucky that she was only insulted by Han’er! She would have suffered hell if Han’er wished his insults to become a reality!” Lin Li shuddered in fear when she thought the ‘hell’ her son could have created for someone whom he has addressed as a ‘whore’.

She silently prayed to the violet bead for the safety of her clan. She promised to teach her son kindness and forgiveness otherwise she was afraid her Lin clan will be making love with beasts and demons!

“Why am I suddenly thinking of such things? Can this be a forewarning?”

Meanwhile, inside the second floor of Awakening Pagoda.

The blinding white light continued to radiate from the floating crystal ball. The light entered Zhen Han’s inner organs to check his affinity with attributes.

It took five minutes before the white light returned to the crystal after which the blinding radiance stopped.

The crystal was now radiating faint multiple color glow. Zhen Han knew the crystal ball was scanning the information absorbed from the white light. After some time, the crystal ball will stabilize and show him his attribute.

“I hope my attribute is Wind!” Zhen Han has always fascinated with the wind.

After he was born, his mother didn’t allow him to leave the castle as she was afraid the secret of violet bead might be leaked. Zhen Han didn’t know the reason why his mother didn’t allow him to go out but he didn’t blame her. He trusted her but he also envied the freedom others enjoyed.

For him, the wind denoted freedom. The wind can move anywhere without any hindrance. Even the greatest of walls couldn’t confine it forever.

Of course, everything changed two years ago when his mother took him to imperial capital for blood inspection! Now, he wasn’t confined or anything but his fascination with the wind remained.

He wanted to be as free as the wind!

Zhen Han continued to stare at the crystal ball waiting for the attribute but it continued to release multiple color glow denoting it was still analyzing the data.

“Strange. Grandpa said the crystal ball will only take ten minutes at most but it has already been twenty minutes!” Zhen Han was having an uneasy feeling.

Meanwhile, outside the pagoda, everyone was staring at the screen projection. Their curiosity about Zhen Han’s attributes was far greater than Zhen Han himself!

“Lin Xinu, is your clan so poor that you can’t afford a proper attribute checking crystal ball?” Qin Auir angrily asked Lin clan patriarch.

Qin Auir has the responsibility of marrying Vermilion Empire’s princess to Zhen Han. He wanted to know everything about the kid before bringing the matter of marriage. But now it has been more than twenty minutes but yet the crystal ball was showing no signs of the kid’s attribute.

“Shut up! It is a Divine grade item!” Lin Xinu angrily said. He was himself nervous seeing the crystal ball being so unresponsive.

The grades of items are : Mortal, Earth, Divine, Profound, Heaven, and Dao.

“Divine grade? Haah. I think someone has sold you mortal grade item!” Qin Auir said. Lin Xinu’s face was filled with dark lines.

“Perhaps the kid doesn’t have an attribute so…” One of Lin clan’s elder speculated in a low voice.

“What did you say?” Lin Xinu asked.

“Sir, I am just saying there is a possibility the kid lack attribute. There are cases where a cultivator lacks any attribute!” The elder replied.

“Oh really? Only waste people lack attribute! You think a heaven-defying genius like him lacks attribute?! He has NINE Manifestations! Yet you think he is a waste?” Qin Auir angrily interjected in between. Zhen Han was someone he has praised about in front of Vermilion Emperor! It was due to his praise that the Emperor decided to marry his youngest daughter to Zhen Han!

Now someone was implying the kid was not a genius but a waste? How could he not be angered?

“I didn’t mean that… I mean it has been so long but there has been no response so I assumed…” The elder timidly replied.

Everyone fell silent. They did think the elder’s claims weren’t totally unfounded.

“The world is always balanced. If heavens endowed him with so many heaven-defying gifts then perhaps they didn’t gift him a single attribute in order to be fair,” Another elder said.

“You might be right. There is always harmony between Yin and Yang. There is always a price to be paid! Everyone has a weakness so lacking attribute might be the kid’s weakness!”

The members of the younger generation felt excited when they heard the discussion among elders. Even few elders started showing expression of gloating. Now almost everyone lost the interest to watch the happenings on the screen projection.

Qin Auir’s expression became unsightly as he thought of the blunder he has created. All cultivation techniques were tailored made for specific attribute! Now the kid lacked an attribute so how will he cultivate? No matter how heaven-defying cultivation speed he has, without cultivation technique, he couldn’t evolve to next realm!

“How will I inform the emperor of this blunder?” Qin Auir trembled when he thought of this.

Zhen Han’s relatives were in a depressed mood after hearing the discussion. Only Lin Li was an exception.

She was rather amused when she saw the gloating expression on the younger generation and the elders. Even the Lin clan patriarch was distancing himself from her even though earlier he has shown signs of making things right. She gave a deep sigh thinking how quickly the will of people changes.

“There is another possibility,” Lin Li suddenly said.

“Oh?” Everyone moved their face towards Lin Li. Ordinarily, they wouldn’t give her words much importance as she was considered a junior.

“The crystal ball lacks the ability to judge his attributes,” Lin Li said as if she was stating a basic fact. Her knowledge of cultivation related stuff was far greater than anyone here as she has absorbed the memories of Blood Witch. It has to be known Blood Witch was a Dao Ancestor realm cultivator!

“How can you be so sure?” Lin Xinu asked her. He didn’t really think much of her words because as far as he was concerned she was just a kid given her age. She lacked experience and knowledge. Not to mention the crystal ball was of Divine grade!

“I just know!” Lin Li said.

“Lin Li, you shouldn’t speak of things which are beyond your scope of understanding,” Lin Xiruo said. The elders also stepped in to berate her for lacking experience.

“S-sir, she might be right,” A clan elder suddenly interjected.

“What? You think Divine grade item can’t check attributes of a kid?!” Lin Xiruo angrily turned his face towards the elder who.

” Yes…” The elder said in a faint voice.

“How dare you!” Lin Xiruo was incensed. Even the other elders and younger generation started cursing the elder for being so insolent.

“Sir, it is not me who is saying this…it is the images on the screen which are saying this! You all need to check the happenings on the screen instead of staring at me or Lin Li!”

“What!?” Lin Xiruo turned his face towards the screen projection. When he saw the images his eyes almost popped out of socket!

“Impossible! I spent 1 million high-grade spirit stones to purchase it!”

On screen, he could see the crystal ball emitting black smoke! Earlier, it was releasing multiple color glow but now there was no more glow. It was emitting nothing but smoke.

There were even cracks on the crystal ball! The crystal ball has tried to check the attributes but even after more then twenty minutes, it wasn’t able to reach any conclusion as if the data it has to analyze was far beyond its capacity! Instead, the progress it has made so far was beyond its ability to support!

It was similar to what happened in the arrays on the first floor which have exploded when they couldn’t bear the spiritual energy attracted by Zhen Han!

Zhen Han was staring at the crystal ball with a sad expression. He has been staring at the crystal ball for more than twenty minutes but then suddenly it started cracking and emitting smoke! He truly wanted to know his attributes but what the crystal ball gave him was smoke!

“I knew the top members of Lin clan were corrupted but never expected them to be so corrupt that they will use defective products here!” Zhen Han said with anger.

Outside, the elders and patriarch of Lin clan coughed up blood…
