Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1584: I Told You They Are The Best
Malachi disappeared from the army’s camp like he was never there. Grey and his friends didn’t know how he was able to integrate himself into the army within such a short time. They assumed he might’ve been planning for something like this for a long time now, given what he wanted to achieve.
“What do we do now?” Reynolds asked.
“Poison the Sovereigns here, so we can start killing them off one by one.” Grey replied with a smile.
After that, the group went into the camp, there were only two Sovereigns present, and Grey didn’t want to take the hassle of putting them under his control, they weren’t of that much importance. And they were Gnomes. Grey has come to understand the Prince’s tend to take their Necromancer Sovereigns more seriously compared to the Gnome Sovereigns under them.
He has placed the Second Prince’s closest man under his control, this will give him access to most things in the Second Prince’s faction. With enough information, he could easily take down the Second Prince. This was the same plan he has for the First Prince, however, the only way to draw out that man, he needs to make a big move.
“Should we kill both of them simultaneously and wait for that guy, or should we take them out one after the other?” He asked the trio by his side.
“Just kill them and wipe out half of the army, he’ll rush here.” Alice suggested.
“Hmm, we’ll take out the regiment that wiped out the town, while also killing the two Sovereigns.” Grey wanted the First Prince’s faction to believe this was a retaliation from the Second Prince.
“Wouldn’t this anger the Second Prince, this might not be what he wants.” Reynolds didn’t want them to attack rashly since they also had to think about the Second Prince, as long as they wanted to use him, then they had to take into account what he would think about them killing the two Sovereigns on this side.
“Hmm, I’ll use the Seventh Prince to talk to him.” Grey reconsidered their options. If Reynolds didn’t bring this up, they would’ve made a mistake.
Grey controlled the Seventh Prince and went up to the Second Prince to discuss killing the regiment who wiped out that town. The Second Prince was strongly against it as it would turn this into a full blown war.
Grey tried to convince the Second Prince about the lives lost and how his people would look at him if he didn’t retaliate. The Second Prince, however, was adamant on not attacking back. He didn’t want to fight on the terms of the First Prince.
Grey could only give up, opting to poison the two Sovereigns since he was here. There was no point going back without doing anything to these guys. He wanted to deal with all the Sovereigns in the Gnome world, and he wasn’t going to let anyone he encounters now go free.
The duo weren’t strong enough to sense Grey as he infused miasma into their bodies. He made sure they were dormant, ensuring there was no way the Gnomes would sense it. He used an array to seal it in them, and it would slowly release the miasma into their bodies. Before they can notice it, it will already be too late.
The duo left the place and headed back, they also didn’t forget to ask Malachi the reason those guys were willing to slaughter everyone in that town.
When they returned to the Silinks Kingdom Castle, Grey went on to report the findings to the Seventh and Second Prince.
The eyes of the Second Prince were filled with rage as he heard the reason an entire town was massacred.
“A vein?” He asked Grey with seriousness.
“Yes, a mine vein appeared close to that place, not the town, but somewhere farther east. They only attacked that town to draw the attention of your army to that place, leaving the place they wanted empty.” Grey explained.
This was indeed what happened. The army from the First Prince’s kingdom discovered this place, but since it was in the Second Prince’s territory, there was no way to mine it, so they opted to use a diversion, and the best way was to massacre that town.
The Second Prince was boiling from rage as he heard Grey reporting.
“You can send some people there to confirm this. I checked that place when coming back and indeed did sense a rich energy there. I didn’t want to alert them of our knowledge of it, so I let it be.” Grey knew the Second Prince wouldn’t believe him immediately, so he told him to send people there to confirm.
The Second Prince stood up and said, “Take me there.”
Grey bowed and said, “Follow me.”
Klaus and the others were left behind with the bunny leader and Void. Grey wanted them to do something else here, which was to poison the few high ranked Gnomes present in the Castle. Grey didn’t care if these were the people of the Second Prince, he never cared for the Seventh Prince, much less the Second Prince.
Grey took the Second Prince, along with the Seventh Prince to the place where the mining was taking place. As soon as they got close, he sensed the presence of a Mid stage Sovereign.
“There’s someone in the Middle stages here, the Fourth stage, to be precise.” Grey stopped the group from moving further.
The Second Prince looked at Grey with a serious expression, he didn’t believe Grey sensed this from this far out. He only sensed the figure after Grey spoke about it. If Grey didn’t say it out, he would’ve never tried to sense what was ahead of them. He looked at Grey with squinted eyes.
“I told you, they’re the best at what they do.” The Seventh Prince spoke up.
The Second Prince didn’t respond, only nodding.
“What can you do about that person?” He asked Grey.
“Do you have any idea who that might be?” Grey asked.
