Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1588: Mayhem Is Coming
?The Second Prince never thought Grey would be able to do this much, he expected him to cause a little disturbance. At the moment, he was even more convinced that he should put Grey under his wings. With Grey working for him, he would be able to deal with things a lot sooner. If he knew that Grey not only killed the Necromancer who was around the same stage as himself, but also placed him under his control, he would both be thrilled and scared at the same time.
Grey showing such strength means that he wasn’t like the others who were weak, he was far stronger than his cultivation stage which meant that he was a genius never before seen. With such a powerhouse, he was ready to use all his resources as long as Grey was able to grow quickly. Once Grey gets to the Mid stages of the Sovereign Plane, then he could technically defeat the First Prince and place him under his control as well. Of course, there’s also the chance of being under his control, but for someone like the Second Prince, he believed he could control someone like Grey.
This is all under the premise that he’s aware of what happened, unfortunately, he doesn’t know, and all he has for Grey at the moment was nothing but respect and admiration.
Grey didn’t know what was going through the head of the Second Prince nor did he care. Klaus and the others should be done with their work by now which would mean he didn’t have to worry about those from the Second Prince’s Kingdom again. Having the Necromancer under his control means that he could not only get close to the First Prince, but he could also kill off a few people from the First Prince’s faction.
‘This is even better than I thought.’ He thought to himself. Although he was strained from having so many people under his control, he believes if he finds a special place to train his mental energy, he would be able to at least have the capacity to keep the people in his control in check for the meantime.
‘I’ll see if the Seventh Prince can ask for such a place for me. If there’s such a place close by, I will have to visit it.’
Grey and the Second Prince soon arrived back at the Palace.
Grey went to report to the Seventh Prince, well, that was what he made the Second Prince believe. An hour later, the Seventh Prince met up with the Second Prince to ask if there were ways he could help treat Grey’s mental energy.
The Second Prince had a good place in the Palace that he took Grey and his friends to.
Grey was pleasantly surprised at the place. The second he entered the place, he felt relieved almost instantly. This place was almost the same as the place they found Klaus in when they entered the God’s tomb.
He didn’t know if there were places like these in the Aurora Continent, but he was elated it was here. Without wasting any time, he entered the water and sank to the bottom, sitting crossed leg, he closed his eyes and entered a meditative state.
The Second Prince was a little surprised with Grey’s method, but he didn’t care. From Grey’s appearance when he returned from his short encounter with the Necromancer, it was evident that he was wounded.
Klaus and the others followed Grey’s actions and all went into a meditative state.
Even though Grey was in a meditative state, he still needed to keep the Seventh Prince under his control, the aspect of the Necromancer was even worse. Unlike the Seventh Prince who was still alive, the Necromancer was dead, and he has to make sure he makes him look as alive as possible. This was even harder than he thought as he was going through serious pains.
Normally, he should be bleeding from all seven orifices at the moment. Actually, he is bleeding from all seven orifices, but he didn’t want anyone to know about this, so he used his darkness element to block the blood from showing. He was multitasking at too many things which was not good for him.
Luckily, the Second Prince has something like this, if not, he wasn’t sure how long he would last under such pressure.
The Second Prince and the Seventh Prince left the group there and went about their things. Grey has evolved the mind control technique to a certain extent whereby it would require lesser mental power to keep the person in control. This is the reason he still has so many people under his control, however, there’s a risk to it since he hasn’t perfected it yet. If for instance the Seventh Prince is triggered by something monumental from his past before he was under Grey’s control, he would regain control over himself. Of course, Grey would be aware, but that would give him the chance to resist especially now that Grey wasn’t close to him.
Time went by in a flash.
Five hours later Alice and the others were done, but Grey didn’t have that luxury to leave soon. He was still recuperating from his mental strain, so he needed more time.
He spent an entire day under the water still recuperating. It was only after he knew he was fully in control that he finally came out of the water.
He looked around and saw his friends close to the pool.
“Why did you wait?” He asked softly.
“You spent a long time there.” Klaus commented.
“I had to put someone I killed under my control, so you think it’s easy?” Grey ensured that no one else could eavesdrop on them when he made this statement.
“Who’s that?” Alice asked.
“The Necromancer under the First Prince.” Klaus was the one who replied.
They knew of what was happening and knew that the only person that could make Grey enter such a state was definitely the Necromancer under the First Prince, and he was in the Fourth stage of the Sovereign Plane.
“How did you manage to make him look alive?” Reynolds couldn’t believe what he was hearing. It was one thing putting someone under your control, it was another thing making a dead person seem alive to others.
The puppets of Necromancers are all dead and no one could make them look alive.
“Let’s just say I’ve done a lot of research even about necromancy, and given my crazy ideas, I thought of something like this. I didn’t think I’d ever need to do it though. Such a hassle.” Grey explained with an exhausted expression.
“Do you do these things whenever you’re bored? I see no reason anyone would even think of trying something like this.” Klaus was amazed by Grey’s habits.
One has to know that Grey not only researches arrays, but he also cultivates, was into forgemastery, and now he was a bonafide necromancer, that’s just crazy to say the least.
If anyone was researching these things, they would need tens of years, some even hundreds of years to acquire the knowledge they have. Grey on the other hand was having an easier time, it was almost as if he had the knowledge of all these people combined.
“I do have the benefit of being very curious. And since I have a lot of time on my hand, I’m pretty free to delve into these things.” Grey explained.
“What do you mean pretty free?” Klaus raised a brow.
“Do you think we’d be on the same cultivation stage if I focused fully on cultivating?” Grey asked with a sarcastic smile.
Klaus’ eyes twitched when he heard this question, even with how shameless he is, there’s no way he could dare to say he was on the same level as Grey. If Grey was only focused on cultivating and not all these things, he would’ve definitely been at a higher cultivation stage by now.
“Oh, and I’ve broken through to the Second stage.” Grey added with a smile.
“Fuck!” Klaus felt his spirit dampen even more.
The fact that Grey was more focused on what was like a side quest and was still growing faster than he is was appalling.
“Let’s just go.” Klaus was dispirited, “When will the mayhem start?”
“Soon, since the Necromancer is under my control, I plan to kill a few top people from the First Prince’s side and make it look like an assassination.” Grey smiled evilly.
“Good, I’m starting to get bored watching you have all the fun.”
“I only went for one mission.”
“That you killed someone in the Fourth stage and miraculously made him come back to life, while under your control.”
Grey and the others left the pool and headed for the Seventh Prince’s chambers. Mayhem was on its way, and they couldn’t wait for it to start.
….
The Second Prince was having a conversation when he saw them walking in, he couldn’t help but have an ominous feeling when he saw them, but it was only for a second.
