Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1600: Tricked
Grey’s words dispelled the Old man’s curiosity. It’s normal for most Necromancers and even Gnomes to sacrifice their puppets whenever they are in a tough spot. As long as they could survive, they didn’t care about the destruction of their puppets or not.
“I see, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’ll end your life here and now. Attacking the Fourth Prince is a taboo, and you will pay for it with your lives.” The Old man said.
“I don’t care what is a taboo or not, Old man, I’ll kill him and there’s nothing you can do about it.” Grey laughed, riling the Old man up.
The Old man looked at Grey with dead eyes, his figure blurred as he charged at Grey.
Grey expected the Old man to react, so he moved quickly, using both the space element and the lightning element to create an illusion of escaping. The Old man paused and tried to pinpoint where Grey was headed.
Grey didn’t leave the place he was standing, rather, he entered and exited the spatial tunnel almost instantaneously, heading straight for the Old man who didn’t know his exact location.
The Old man sensed Grey coming from the direction Grey was previously standing on, and he quickly turned in that direction. Grey attacked him, forcing him back with a punch. The Old man retreated, but not without shrieking from immense pain. He looked at his hands and realized that his bones were popping out. His hand was broken from blocking Grey’s punch.
He moved back when Grey threw the fist at him to reduce the impact of the blow, not just that, but he also used his earth element to create an earth armor on his arm, yet they were still broken from the punch. If he had taken the strike head on, the chances of Grey’s fist striking his chest was very high. If that had happened, he didn’t think he would only feel pain from his arms, he might’ve been in serious danger.
The Old man didn’t panic, even though he was in pain, he calmed himself down and took a glance at Grey who didn’t make another move. Blood could be seen flowing down Grey’s left shoulder.
‘Damn it! He evaded it.’
The Old man didn’t only retreat, he also attacked as well. He was a veteran and knew a few things on how to react to sneak attacks. He wanted to stab Grey on his heart, but Grey noticed it early and moved to the right slightly, only having his left shoulder impaled by the earth sword.
The sword was destroyed by Grey as soon as it made contact with his body. He knew that leaving something under the Old man’s control this close to him was a wrong and dangerous move.
“Was it worth it?” The Old man asked calmly.
“Taking a sword and you losing both arms, most definitely worth it.” Grey laughed.
The Old man looked at Grey and added, “If I only wanted to stab you, I wouldn’t try the trade.”
A mass of black gooey substance appeared in front Grey.
Grey looked at it and asked, “This was a smart move, but it isn’t enough to keep me down. You should be more worried.”
Grey’s cunning smile made the Old man’s heart skip a beat, he tried to check himself, but Grey didn’t give him that chance. He attacked instantly.
The Old man felt angered when this happened. He let Grey remove the gooey substance from his body, why isn’t he even letting him check his body?
This is so unfair!
The Old man felt wronged, but there was nothing he could do. Grey didn’t want to give him that chance, and being worried about whatever Grey had placed in his body, he couldn’t focus on the fight.
This was Grey’s aim from the start, and he capitalized on it, keeping the Old man from using his full strength while keeping him on the defensive. Whatever the Old man did was still active, however, Grey has successfully made him forget about that. The moment this period is exhausted, Grey would kill the Old man.
The Old man was forced to take Grey’s attacks, he was retreating as Grey attacked relentlessly.
The Old man wanted to remove whatever Grey placed in his body, but Grey was continuously attacking him. He soon realized something was wrong.
‘Huh?’
He still had his secret technique active, yet he was being overwhelmed by Grey.
“You little bastard!” The Old man exploded from rage.
This time, he has had enough. He soon realized Grey didn’t put anything in his body, rather, he used the Old man’s fear to control him. Thinking about it, he couldn’t help but feel fear for Grey. He’s so young yet he was so smart. Being able to come up with something like that after it was used on him was ingenious. The Old man almost wanted to praise Grey, but they were enemies, and the other would kill him the moment the technique was exhausted, this was something he could tell from Grey’s eyes.
Grey saw that the Old man had realized that he was tricked and shook his head. He didn’t mind trying once again, “If you use your essence you’ll aggravate it.”
The Old man didn’t care about his words and attacked.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” Grey yelled while escaping from the Old man’s attack.
The more the old man thought about it, the more annoyed he was. Grey was escaping which meant that he didn’t do anything. If his guess was right, he would kill Grey without a second thought.
Grey didn’t care about the man, he has successfully delayed him for a few minutes, all he needed was to avoid him for a few more minutes and the Old man’s technique will he exhausted, and he will kill the Old man then.
The Old man attacked, but Grey evaded while forcefully stopping the blood from continuously flowing.
