Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1612: The Second Prince II
Grey followed the Second Prince for a while, and a few hours later, the Second Prince came up with a deduction. The person who killed the Sixth Prince was a lady, and from how the person attacked and the way the Prince was killed, it was evident that this was someone who was from the human world.
“A Necromancer in the Second or Third stage, that’s also a lady.” The Second Prince said.
Grey’s eyes twitched slightly when he heard this, but the Second Prince didn’t see it since he was focused on what he was thinking about. Grey didn’t imagine the Second Prince would be able to come up with such a conclusion after just a few hours here. nσvel.cøm
‘Damn, at this rate, he will be able to trace it to Alice. I need to put him under my control before then.’
“Should I head out to carry out the assassination now?” He asked the Second Prince in a soft voice.
“You want to do it now?” The Second Prince didn’t expect Grey would be the one to suggest going to kill the Third Prince, he thought maybe he would wait for his orders.
“Since you’re still here investigating, I can rush there and back.” Grey said.
The Second Prince thought about it and nodded, he gave Grey something and told him to contact him in case of anything. This was a communication device, but it was just for the Second Prince and Grey.
Grey took it and left, he needed to place the Second Prince under his control, if he couldn’t do that, then he would kill him. Leaving him alive while not being under his control was too dangerous. The fact that the Second Prince was this accurate with just a little information meant that if given more time, he would fish out the person.
….
After leaving the Sixth Prince’s castle, Grey wore a cloak and disappeared. It was already dark, so Grey, dressed in black disappeared into the night.
Within the next hour, Grey was already inside the Third Prince’s castle. Unlike when he was traveling with the Second Prince, Grey went all out when coming back and traveled at a faster pace.
When he got inside the castle, he looked at the place. The location of each individual in the Sovereign Plane was known to him, but they didn’t have any idea he was in their castle.
He didn’t bother with the others, and went straight to the Third Prince’s room. He entered with ease. When he got there, the Third Prince was quietly cultivating, he didn’t sense the presence of anyone entering his room.
Grey looked at him and shook his head, he didn’t kill him, rather, he incapacitated him, ensuring there was no way he could use any form of essence, after doing that, he took the Third Prince with him.
….
In the woods.
“Who are you?” The Third Prince asked coldly for the umpteenth time, and this time, he got a reply.
“I’m nobody.” Grey studied the contents in the Prince’s storage ring and nodded, pleased with it. He turned his focus back on the Prince and said, “I’ll ask a few questions, and you’ll tell me what I want to know.”
“I’m the Third Prince, the son of the Emperor, you already have my belongings, let me go and nothing will happen to you.” The Third Prince said calmly, his rage had disappeared.
“I don’t care about who your father is, If I did I wouldn’t kill that clown.” Grey let the Prince know that he had already killed one Prince, and didn’t mind killing another.
“You’re the one who killed Waylan?” The Third Prince was surprised, although he guessed it when Grey took him, he still didn’t expect it.
Grey nodded before asking the Third Prince a bunch of questions concerning the Second Prince as well as himself. He wanted to know if it was worth it keeping him alive. He wanted to keep one among the Second and Third Prince alive, so he was trying to see if he was worth keeping alive. In the end, he preferred the Second Prince.
After asking for all the information he wanted, although the Third Prince didn’t want to tell him at first, he was subjected to a series of torture, and he later told him everything he needed. Grey didn’t kill him, rather, he placed him under his control, and took him with him in the direction of the Sixth Prince’s kingdom.
When he got close, he contacted the Second Prince, and pretended to be seriously injured, with blood coming from the side of his mouth and head.
The Second Prince got there within a few minutes, when he saw Grey’s condition, his facial expression changed.
“So you truly were the one who sent him to kill me.” The Third Prince walked out from the side.
The Second Prince took a glance at his younger brother, and then his gaze turned to Grey who was lying on the ground.
“What’s the meaning of this?” He asked calmly.
“You sent someone this incompetent to come kill me, do you think I’m that easy to deal with?” The Third Prince asked.
The Second Prince didn’t reply, rather, he looked around and was surprised he didn’t find anyone else with the Third Prince.
‘Should I just end him myself?’ He looked at Grey in disappointment, he didn’t expect Grey to fail this badly, but thinking about it, the Third Prince was a Prince after all, and his strength was also worth commending.
The Second Prince thought about it, but decided against it. He didn’t want to stain his hands with the blood of his brother.
“If I wanted to kill you, I would’ve done it long ago, and personally too. I wouldn’t want to miss the look on your face when you beg for your life.” He looked at the Third Prince, “He’s working under his will, I didn’t send him to try to kill you. As you know, if I’m not certain of something, I don’t act.”
“He’s abandoned you, hahaha.” The Third Prince laughed at Grey when he saw that the Second Prince was cutting him off here, this meant that he could kill him even in his presence.
Grey didn’t show any reactions to the Second or Third Princes words, he expected this from the Second Prince from the start. But this was the least of his worries, he needed the Third Prince to force the Second Prince into fighting. If the Second Prince refuses to fight, there is no way he could place him under his control.
“Do you think I’ll leave just like that?” The Third Prince asked with a change in his expression, and before the Second Prince could speak, he attacked.
The Second Prince was taken aback when he sensed the attack. He was about to attack Grey when the Third Prince’s attack came crashing in his direction.
He reacted quickly, dodging the attack.
“What’s the meaning of this?” He asked coldly.
“Do you think I’ll let you kill my only witness?” The Third Prince asked, and with a smug smile, he added, “You want to kill him so he wouldn’t be able to expose you. Haha, I have you now, coward.”
The Second Prince didn’t expect the Third Prince to say something like this from his attempt to kill Grey.
“He was recruited by Seventh, I have no ties with him.” The Second Prince pointed out.
“You’re the one who brought him into my castle to come kill me, you’ll pay for your sins.”
The Third Prince started to act in a maniacal way.
Grey knew keeping him in the normal sane position will give the Second Prince the chance to escape, so he opted for the part of forcing the Second Prince to fight.
The Third Prince attacked continuously, but the Second Prince, who was stronger, and also a better fighter was able to deal with all the attacks coming his way. The Third Prince brought out his puppet and used it to attack.
Grey couldn’t help but praise the Second Prince’s battle awareness. He was dodging most of the attacks and barely countered. From his position, Grey could see that the Second Prince could continue doing this for a while.
‘Such a hassle.’ He thought internally.
The Third Prince looked in Grey’s direction and said, “Help me kill him and I’ll let you go.”
The Second Prince took a glance at Grey who didn’t hesitate to get up. The Second Prince didn’t expect the Third Prince to give Grey the freedom to fight back. He could still deal with the Third Prince and his puppet, but if Grey joined the battle, he would be in serious trouble. The Third Prince might’ve been able to handle Grey, but it didn’t hide the fact that Grey was a very crafty and powerful individual. Once Grey joins the fight, he would have to change his battle strategy.
