Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1615: An Ominous Feeling
Gnome world.
The Capital.
The entire place was abuzz with the news of the assassination of the Sixth and Third Princes. It was said that the Second Prince was in the Sixth Prince’s castle investigating the matter after questioning the Third Prince, but the Third Prince was killed that same night. In the space of a few days, two Princes were killed.
There is also the issue of the Fourth and Fifth Prince who fought a war but then agreed not to speak about it again after finding out about the death of the Third Prince. Since the duo warned their subordinates to not speak of the war, they acted like they were completely oblivious to the war, it was as if they didn’t have any memory of it. A few people have tried speaking to them about it, even the First Prince, but they didn’t give him any sensible reply. Most people believed they were both pretending not to have any memory of it, but there was someone who genuinely believed they weren’t pretending, and that was the Second Prince.
Grey didn’t bother with the Second Prince while they were in the Capital, for some reason, he didn’t feel comfortable staying too long, so he wanted to deal with the First Prince as soon as he possibly could and then leave this place. He was having an ominous feeling, and it started when they returned to the Capital. He originally planned to try to kill off most of the top Families experts before leaving, but killing the First Prince was enough for him.
He didn’t step out of the Seventh Prince’s chamber after they got to the Capital, he stayed hidden, and only came out when most of the people in the Palace had left for their respective homes. Only the Princes and their subordinates stay there. The Seventh Prince’s right hand man didn’t return with him, which was a shock to most of the people there, they knew how close the Seventh Prince and his right hand man were.
The Seventh Prince didn’t speak much on things, and only listened whenever they were having a meeting. He only speaks when asked a question.
….
It has been three days since Grey and his friends came to the Capital, and they have been gathering information, well, more like the bunny leader’s bunnies which were sent out to gather all the information they could possibly get.
Since coming back, Grey has had a few encounters with the First Prince, but he didn’t dare to try anything suspicious. The First Prince wasn’t as easy going as the Second Prince, he was very strict, and if he sensed anything strange with Grey, he would kill him without a second thought. The Seventh Prince might be enraged by this, but he wouldn’t be able to fight with the First Prince since he was still very much weaker than he is.
“Grey, why are you unsettled?” Alice was the one who sensed Grey’s unease while they were in the Palace.
“I feel like the tomb will not be able to hold them for much longer.” Grey shook his head with a worried sigh, he added, “It might look massive to us, but to people like my father, they can sweep the entire place clean within a few weeks. This is something that’ll take us months, if not even years.”
“Once they’ve figured out there’s nothing there that can make any of us become a God Plane powerhouse, they will not hold back their rage.”
The others understood the reason for Grey’s worries, but then thinking about the current situation of the Gnome world, Klaus asked…
“Wouldn’t the Emperor be more mad if he finds out we are responsible for the death of some of his sons and a large number of Gnomes?”
Grey chuckled, “Naturally, but who knows we’re here?”
Grey wasn’t bothered by this thought, no one knew their identities, and everyone believed they were in the God’s tomb, even if they didn’t find them there, they could easily lie that his father hid them somewhere to keep them safe.
“The commotion here will definitely keep them busy for a few more months, delaying their plans.” Alice said.
“Hopefully, I can’t predict the reaction of the Emperor after coming back to meet his world in chaos, but he’ll definitely prefer to put it together before thinking of invading another world.” Grey voiced his opinion.
“So kill the First Prince and disappear?” Klaus asked.
“We can’t disappear like that, we have to be killed.”
The group started planning their deaths. Grey was already working towards the First Prince’s death, he knew his chances of putting him under his control was nonexistent, he didn’t even want to think about it, killing the First Prince would make things worse here, especially if he’s killed inside the Capital or close to the Capital.
The Emperor would spend so much effort searching for a killer that’s nowhere near the Gnome world. Given the cultivation stage of the First Prince, someone like Grey would never be a suspect in anyone’s eyes. Of course, that’s a different case if they find out he was in the Gnome world.
Grey and his friends were planning to kill the First Prince, while also planning their deaths. They needed a very good excuse to ensure there were no issues with it and that they could disappear without suspicions.
The Second Prince was an issue, but if Grey is able to complete his current research, he’ll be able to work on the memory of the Second Prince, wiping out most of his memories that have to do with Grey or his friends. This is something that he has been trying to work on with a few guards from the Seventh Prince’s faction, and all of them have been a failure, each individual lost every single memory they had.
When Grey’s friends heard his freakish theory, they all felt like he had gone crazy, this is something that can only be done by a God, they didn’t believe this was possible to anyone of their abilities.
