Affinity:Chaos - Chapter 1618: Unveiling The Plans
The Grixy Region.
Grey and his friends could be seen sitting quietly in a tavern, they were staring at a mansion that was some meters away from the tavern.
They’ve been here for two days now, and they’ve been monitoring the movements of the Family staying inside the mansion. This was the Family the Second Prince told him to come investigate about their ties with any of the Princes, not those vying for the throne, but the casual Princes.
According to the information the Second Prince has gathered, one of the Princes would visit the Family in a few days, so all Grey and his friends needed to do was wait for the Prince’s arrival and then listen to their conversations. Once they’ve confirmed it’s related to what the Second Prince guessed, Grey and his friends would step out, under the banner of the Royal family and with the backing of the Second and even the First Prince, they could do whatever they deemed as punishment to these people.
Grey and his friends didn’t have any issues with this, since it was a good means to increase their wealth. Of course, it’s unknown if the First and Second Prince would want them to split the treasures, but they wanted to ensure all the valuable treasures were kept before the Princes came.
“When’s this prince going to come?” Klaus asked, a bit bored. He didn’t enjoy the food in the Gnome world, and since there’s no way he could get exotic fruits here, he could only sit around bored.
“He should be here today or tomorrow.” Grey replied while keeping his focus on the mansion. He was about to continue speaking when he received some words from the bunny leader.
The bunny leader sent one of his small bunnies into the mansion, and it has been able to locate the treasury.
“While we’re waiting for the prince, why don’t we visit their treasury?” He suggested.
“Won’t they be able to sense us?” Reynolds didn’t want them to alert the family, especially when they’ve not been able to catch them in the act.
“Don’t worry, I told the bunny to ensure there’s no experts hiding. There’s only two Mid stage Sovereigns there, Klaus and I can deal with them if they notice us.” Grey stood up and prepared to head into the mansion.
Klaus stood up and whispered to Reynolds, “Don’t worry about that buddy, us the strong guys will deal with their strong guys, worry about carrying the goods.”
Reynolds looked at Klaus’s smug expression and genuinely felt like beating the crap out of him.
Alice followed Grey and Klaus, and after a while, so did Reynolds. They soon entered the mansion without any stress. With Grey and Void, they could easily sneak into this place. The bunny leader has given them a general overview of the place, so they knew where was occupied and where was empty.
After appearing inside, Grey and Void took the lead, and they soon maneuvered their way through the building without being found. They appeared in a room, and an Old man could be seen, sleeping beside him was a young lady who looked to be in her early twenties.
When they appeared, Klaus froze them, placing them in a comatose state. The duo didn’t even sense the presence of the group that just walked into the place.
Grey took a glance at Klaus, impressed at what he was capable of doing. The Old man was a First stage Sovereign, and Klaus is only above him with one stage, yet he was able to place the man in such a state without any resistance from the man.
“What? These guys aren’t worth our time.” Klaus didn’t see anything odd with his ability. Most of the Gnomes from these top families, especially these old ones in the First stage of the Sovereign Plane aren’t powerful, it’s easy to tell that their cultivation was forcefully raised to the Sovereign Plane. They might seem intimidating, but that’s to only people below the Sovereign Plane, anyone in the Sovereign Plane can tell they aren’t strong.
Reynolds looked at the old man and the young lady and turned to the bunny leader.
The bunny leader led them to the place that leads to the treasury.
Grey and Void took the lead, and they soon found the opening. Grey searched for any traps, and realized there’s none. Apparently, since this was the room of the Old man, they didn’t set any traps. The group walked into the opening, entering a long tunnel that took them underground.
As they walked, Grey and Void sensed the presence of three people, all in the Sovereign Plane, but they were only in the First stage.
The duo, along with Klaus, sneaked up on the trio and quickly made short work of them.
They didn’t kill them since that would arouse suspicion, just like what Klaus did with the old man, they placed them in a somewhat comatose state, ensuring that when they woke up, they wouldn’t have any idea of what happened. Of course, they would be suspicious since all three of them entered the state at the same time, but all the group needed to do was to be quick and these guys might not even notice it. Their consciousness was left frozen, keeping them in the same position and state of mind as when they were placed in the comatose state.
They entered the place and after skimming through most of the items there, they picked the best. The things they took would go unnoticed as long as no one does a thorough check on the treasury.
The group left the treasury and everything was restored back to its original state, with the exception of the treasures that had been taken by the group.
On their way out of the mansion, the person they’ve been waiting for arrived.
‘Perfect timing.’
There was no need for the group to leave the building any more, they all walked back into the building, and with the help of Void and the bunny leader, they were able to almost hide in plain sight, as long as a powerful expert didn’t come close to them, there’s no way they would be able to sense them in the Hall.
The prince who came was around the same age as the First Prince, his eyes showed exhaustion, and it was clear why he wasn’t part of those vying for the throne. He hasn’t even broken through to the Sovereign Plane yet, even though he was well over sixty years. Even the Seventh Prince has a good chance of one-shotting him. Grey couldn’t believe this was a prince of the Gnome world.
The Prince sat timidly in front of the people before him. The old man who was sleeping came out dressed after the arrival of the prince was announced to him.
“You killed them?” The prince asked with a calm voice, even though he looked relatively timid, he had the bearings of a Royal.
“No, we haven’t made any moves yet. We wanted to start with the Seventh Prince, but who would’ve thought the Sixth and Third Prince would be assassinated in such a short time.” The Old man sat down and replied.
“If you didn’t do it, then who did?” The prince asked.
“We’ve been trying to find out, but the people who did this are professionals. There’s no sign of it being any of the top assassins organizations. This means whoever did it is someone new.” The Old man explained with a calm expression.
“What does this mean to our objectives?” The prince took the cup of wine he was offered.
“It changes nothing, we’ll continue as planned. Kill all Princes and you, being the eldest will be made the heir.” The Old man said confidently.
“Do you think my father won’t have his suspicions?”
“He will, but it doesn’t change anything. He can’t kill you and it’s normal for the Princes to fight amongst themselves. Luckily, some of the Princes are fighting each other now, so it’s a good medium. We should try to pin the blame on one of them.”
“Who do you have in mind?”
“The First Prince.”
“He has no reason to do that, he’s already in pole position.”
“There doesn’t need to be a reason, as long as the claim is good enough, we can pin it on him and make your other brothers turn on him.”
“I see, do what you must.”
“It’s been a while since you visited, Your Highness, I have something special kept for you.”
The prince raised a brow curiously and let out an ‘oh’, he already knew what the Old man was talking about, but shook his head, “Not this time, I have something to do.”
“A shame, you should’ve taken the offer.”
A new voice spoke from the space, and the Old man and prince looked around in shock, unsure of what’s going on.
“Who’s that?”
“Chill, you’ll see me soon.”
