Agent College - Chapter 96
Hearing the “Yeah” from his friend, Mr. Angelo felt proud.
“Finally you decided something right.” Mr. Angelo said.
The PR team of Angelo’s Trends had already given a notice of the press conference held by two companies.
“Sir, but..what about the dating rumor of Mike sir and Alena mam?” The PR department head asked.
Alena went in shock hearing the sentence, she checked her phone and saw the trending searches. Not a single site left this matter to be reported.
“I will let Mike decide that. After all its not company matter but a personal one.” Mr. Angelo said as he took a glance at his son who was sitting right beside him.
“Can’t you ask the PR department to do that as well…” Mike said in a low tone.
“Nope.” Mr. Angelo said as he shook his head lightly.
After a while, the PR department started their work. It was just half an hour more for the press conference.
After half an hour.
“Thank you to all the reporters for coming here on such a short notice.” The PR department head said.
“Today, I am here to clear some misunderstandings that have happened in couple of years. So, first Janice and I had to move to Country C due to some crisis at the branch there. We thought that our work might be done in some months but the situations were worse than we could imagine.” Mr. William said.
“That is fine sir. But do you have any answer about why you didn’t come to your parents’ funeral or meet your daughter even when you were in Country I?” One reporter asked.
“Well, we received…the news quite late… and we did wanted to come but the circ.u.mstances didn’t allow us to. As for our daughter…..I don’t know about Janice but I was afraid.” Mr. William said with his eyes slightly wet.
“Afraid of what sir?” Another reporter asked.
“I was afraid that the girl might have started to hate me but… just yesterday…I found out I was wrong.” Mr. William said as he wiped that one tear that came on the corner of his eye and took a glance at Alena.
Janice was shocked by her Ex-husband’s words.
“Ms. Alena what do you wanna say about this?” Another reporter asked.
Alena who did not expect that she would have to answer some questions too was shocked by what Mike said on the reporter’s question.
“This question is like asking a person who lost his family in flood about ‘how are you feeling after losing your family?’. Please ask some better questions otherwise don’t.”
This reply made the reporter who asked question feel embarassed and he sat back on his seat…feeling like he wanted to dig a hole and bury himself in it.
“Mike sir, this response of yours is quite an evidence that you might be dating this girl. So, is the love real or just a buisness deal?” A female reporter asked.
Hearing such a question, Mike had a smile on his face. “Well, our company is having a buisness with Willson and William fashion so I guess it is a buisness deal? And as for dating her….nope no such relationship is between us. We are only friends who study in same college.”
Now that the topic of buisness deal between the two companies was already out Mr. Angelo declared the deal as well. The press conference ended there and the reporters left. Mr. Angelo, Mr. Jordan and Ms. Janice went to the company’s rooftop to have a little calm conversation.
Ms. Janice’s phone rang and she left Mr. Angelo and Mr. Jordan for their chit-chat and attended the call.
“What happened?” Mr. Angelo asked.
“Nothing.” Mr. Jordan who had a blank expression on his face but his eyes looked at the lady’s figure who was talking to someone.
“Are you regretting divorcing her?” Mr. Angelo asked as he looked at the direction of eye of his friend’s eye.
“Kinda…Why didn’t I tried a little more to save that relationship?” Mr. Jordan said with sad look on his face.
“It’s never too late.” Mr. Angelo said as he shrugged his shoulder.
“Nah…She is dating some guy…Bobby or whatever…” Mr. Jordan said.
“Give it a try at least.” Mr. Angelo said as he patted his friend’s shoulder and left the roof top.
Just after a while Ms. Janice came back from her call.
“He went?” She asked.
“Yeah…he had some work.” Mr. Jordan said.
“Oh…then I guess we should go too.” Ms. Janice said as she walked towards the door but she was stopped by Mr. Jordan’s firm grip. She turned back and asked “What is it?”
“Why are you still with me? I mean….I know you are capable enough to open your own company…then why still a part of Willson and William fashion?”
Just when Ms. Janice had opened her mouth to answer his question he interruped her and said “Don’t say that you are in the company because of your dad’s investment.”
Janice was shocked to hear this. Just from the night when he had said in the restaurant that she should go talk to her, her head was filled with million thoughts and confusion. There was a chaotic situation in her head until now but now even her heart was under the chaos.
But somehow she calmed herself down. She looked at the man in front of her who just looked similar to the young college guy whom she had fallen in love with but today this similarity was not restricted to his face only, but his feelings, his gestures were similar to it too.
“I..regret our divorce…” She said.
With this saying, Mr. Jordan slowly pulled the lady in front of him towards himself and said “Finally we have mutual feelings for something after a long time, huh?”
Janice chucked on this statement and said “What are you trying to do Jordan Willson?”
“Re propose?” Mr. Jordan said as he knelt down.
“Wait, what? Really?” Janice said as she hid her face to hide the embarassed and flushed expression.
“Of course. I even have the ring. So, Ms. Janice William will you re marry me?” Mr. Jordan asked.
“Of course!”
“Wait..what about the Bob guy?” Mr. Jordan asked as his hands stopped just when he was about to put the ring.
“We just broke up…” Ms. Janice said.
“Oh..” Mr. Jordan said as he continued what he was doing.
“Hmm…don’t you think Alena you should NOT be peeking at this?” Mike asked to Alena who had been watching this from the very beginning.
Alena almost shouted when she heard a sound suddenly but Mike cupped her face with his hands and pinned her on the wall.
“First peeking and then don’t know the rules of peeking.” Mike said as he moved his hand slowly.
“Anyone would shout if they heard a sound from behind. And no, I don’t think I should NOT be peeking. They are my parents…I’d do whatever I want to!” Alena whispered.
“Weren’t you mad at them?” Mike asked.
“I was but…ahhh just leave this!” Alena said.
“Uh-huh” Mike said as he gave a playful smile.
Just at this moment, Mr. Willson and Ms. William…oh wait! No need to write separately anymore. Mr. and Mrs. Willson came out from the roof top and saw how their daughter and Mike were close. They coughed to mark their presence. With the cough, Mike suddenly realised he indeed was way too close to her and distanced himself from her and said “So…Mr Willson…well I’ll be going!”
Mike took his leave and left Alena with her parents. Though Alena wanted to stop Mike but he had already left and now she has to face the awkwardness herself.
“So…you guys are getting re-married?” Alena asked.
“Were you peeking at us?!” Mr. Willson asked.
“I was…but I couldn’t see the whole thing because Mike came…” Alena said as she crossed her hands.
“Phew..” Mr. Willson took a sigh of relief.
What? You thought the proposal ended with just putting on the ring? No! There was a kiss too.
“Alena dear, we know you are mad at us… but can we forget everything and start a new?” Ms. Janice asked.
“Sure…” Alena said.
“I know it’s hard for you to forgive us….wait, what did you say?” Ms. Janice asked.
“I said sure. Kinda used for yes…you guys did not know that?” Alena said.
Hearing the answer Ms. Janice couldn’t help but hug her daughter, the hug that she had been waiting for, for 10 years. Though Alena kept her body stiff for the first 5 seconds but she too hugged her mother lightly. After 10 years Alena had felt the warmth of her mother’s hug, how could’ve she denied it?
“You’ll be my bride’s maid!” Ms. Janice said. as she distanced herself.
“Okay…but can we do the talking about the precious wedding day after college….I am kinda late..” Alena said as she showed her wristwatch.
“We’ll drop you.” Mr. Willson said.
“I guess that is fine too.” Alena said.
After dropping Alena at college Mr. Willson drove to the office.
“Your bride’s maid is decided…but who will be my best men?”
“Just ask Jeffery (Mr. Angelo) and his son.” Janice suggested.
“Good idea…by the way…do you think that, that young man and Alena might have some kind of relation?” He asked.
“We aren’t even married yet and your over protective father instincts are back already?” Janice said with a smirk on her face.
“Yeah yeah…” Mr. Willson said.
