Ain’t Your Regular Girlfriend - Volume 1 Chapter 37 37 Broken Trust
For a moment I thought he was gonna continue on with the sudden silence until he finally says. “It was the drink”. In a voice that could hardly be heard.
“What do you mean by that ?”. I ask sharply and turn to face him. Still fighting the urge not to tear my clothes off as I feel Hot… Like I’m burning and at the same time wanting to feel something or anything against my body. “What do you mean?”. I ask again and he takes my hand in his, examining it as if I’ve got invincible bruises on my wrist.
“The drink, the last one you drank was heavily spiked.” I gasp and felt my stomach rumble angrily.
I wrap my hand around my heavy stomach. “Spiked? How?”. I asked with my eyes raised. “I didn’t drink it alone, Stephanie did also with Betty “. I say trying to remember how all these happened in the first place. “Yeah, Stephanie”.
Mike nod to my questionable face and it hit me how the f.u.c.k does he know all these stuff, I mean he wasn’t there. Was he? I raise a brow at him.
“I know you must be wondering how I knew all these”. He says as if reading the look on my face. “You alright?”. He asks as a low grunt escaped my lips.
“My tummy”. I say painfully with my hand still on my belly.
“Hey, let me help you back to bed, you need more two hours to get back to your self”. He says and tried to hold me but I jerk my hand from his.
“How did you know?”. I say through my teeth still fighting myself from collapsing there. ” Are you working with them?”. I asks and backed out a little from him. “Tell me! How did you know about the drinks!”. I yell and felt my eyes wet. Just the thought of these assholes makes me want to punch Mike if truly he is indeed working with them.
He kept quiet as if trying to form a lie and I don’t like this stupid silence. “Mike?”. I call him and felt my heart broke into pieces as he nods and looks away.
I shake my head and jerk my hand as he tried to pull me back. I made it the door that was just five feet away from us with my trembling legs to the doorway.
Anger, disgust, and hatred heavied my chest as I slam the door behind me.
I run back to his room and grab my dress that was neatly folded on the bed. I pull it over my head ignoring his voice coming from the door. “F.u.c.k! Where is this f.u.c.k.i.n.g heel”. I breath and quickly grab the flip-flop slippers in the room.
“Lara, It’s not what you think”. He says as I pull the door open and find him sitting on the floor beside the door. “Let me explain, please “. He says and walks faster behind me as I run toward a door and pray for it to be the front door that would lead to the exit of this house.
“Let me explain, please”. He repeat, running after me. I stopped and looked back at him and if my eyes were to be bullets, I bet he would have been long gone.
“There is nothing to explain”. I yell. “F.u.c.k! “. I breath as I run out of the house into darkness, not fully dark because of the street light that makes everywhere look like morning except the sky that was when I realized that the light in the house deceived me to believe it was morning or almost morning but the sky isn’t that dark.

My chest is heavy, my head is pounding and my feet hurts as I run pass few people who stared at me in a creepy way. “F.u.c.k I’m gonna deal with those assholes”. Was all I could think of as I looked back to check if I’ve lost track of Mike whom I believed to have turned back probably to get his car because he running back would be to drive his car after me.
Something in me wanted to believe Mike innocent, I trusted him to be exceptional but this is what I get for wanting to act normal. Who knows who else he might be hiding, God! I felt my trust betrayed though we ain’t that close but I felt we were.
I stop to catch my breath and to cool my thoughts as he pulled over in front of me. “Lara, you’ve gotta hear me out”. He says but I ignored him and continued walking fast with the little strength in me.
Still following me, I cross to the other side of the road when I sight a vehicle light coming miles away from where I stood. I walk back and stop in the middle of the road waving my hand to the upcoming vehicle.
As the vehicle approaches closer that was when I took a closer look at the car as the dark clouds have been separated from the sky.
The car is from home. I breath as the car stops and Mike walks to where I stood to wait for the red-haired girl on the steering as she stopped and climbed out of the car.
