All It Takes Is One Night - 52 Chapter 52
“What is the problem now?” father Ning asked in annoyance
“Brother and I have somewhere to be but Mother has banned me from going because she feels I need to get married” although all that Catherine said was true but people would have expected her to act pitifully but she didn’t.
“Mother that’s not what happen, I… it’s just Master Zhou is already on his way to have brunch with our dear Catherine. And it would be a shame if we have to cancel. I’m just caring about our Ning family’s reputation.” Mother Ning completely changed her attitude.
Seeing our thoughtful she was both Father Ning and Grammie Ning even James believed her, but Catherine who grew up with and noticed the drastic change in Mother Ning’s attitude when she was younger definitely knew that’s she was just playing nice but she had to applaudher acting abilities.
“In that case why doesn’t he come along, it would be fun and he and Catherine could spend some quality time together. What do you think Catherine?”
“Um… sure, of course. I’ll wait for him to come and I will meet you guys there.” Catherine said slowly trying to read her brothers thoughts, seeing the relieved expression on his face she knew she got it right.
‘Son of bitch threw me under the bus’ Catherine inwardly scolded her brother while outwardly smiling
“Ok good problem solved, have a nice time and be safe” Grammie Ning warmly embraced her two grandchildren before bidding farewell and turning towards her private garden for some peace.
Finally it was all solved and James couldn’t wait to see his baby girl, so he hurriedly said his goodbyes and apologetically looked at Catherine before speeding off in his car.
‘Zhou… master Zhou’
After James left, the words mother Ning had said about her set up finally settled in Catherine’s brain.
‘That woman had said Master Zhou… it’s probably another Zhou right? Right?’ Catherine couldn’t help but feel uneasy; she anxiously sat in the living room alone waiting for the man with the familiar name.
Finally, she could hear the sound of a car stopping and the grand doors being open, the child in her wanted to run out to see but she was a ‘lady’. So, Catherine sat up straight, picked her cup of tea and waited for the man with the familiar name to enter.
The doors were opened and familiar man did walk in.
