All It Takes Is One Night - 63 Chapter 63
After walking for a while they finally arrived at the back of the mansion. The mansion wasn’t gated and when it was built Catherine made sure to not affect the natural structure of the area.
Standing behind the mansion was a breath taking view.
It had birds naturally flying around with old tress peacefully resting; to the left was a beautiful naturally occurring waterfall which flowed right into a river that was longer than they could see. Behind the river were beautiful valleys covered with all types of flowers and beautiful dears and wild rabbits prancing around. A tall mountain could be seen in the distance.
Over the river was a bridge that led to one of the valleys.
In the valley there was a path that led to a pavilion. They all walked towards the pavilion as colorful butterflies flew and landed around them.
A beautiful lilac carpet was spread around the pavilion floor and numerous cushions on it; in the center was a round low table which had a fresh steaming tea on it.
The group sat down and quietly drank their tea while treasuring the view. Katie was laying I James embrace when she felt an intense gaze on her, she turned her head and saw Kyle passionately looking at her and when their eyes met she saw the panicky look on his face like he was just caught doing something wrong before he hurriedly turned away.
That looks. That very look that she had craved since high school, he finally looked at her with longing and desire. But wasn’t it too late, she already had James, yes she had James. But why did her heart feel slight pain when she realized she couldn’t investigate what his look meant.
Innocent James didn’t see their little interaction and was busy feeding Katie grapes when a furry feline creature pounced on him. The creature was vicious and loud and was practically devouring him.
Oh wait, o it was just after the bowl of fruits next to James and it wasn’t really causing much damage considering the fact that it was just a cat.
Finally James was able to firmly hold the cat when another cat slowly walked out, this cat didn’t even bother to fight, it just went straight to it owner Catherine and rubbed its body against her arms asking to be picked up. Catherine gently picked up her cat and gently petted it, seeing its friend getting all of their owners attention obviously the cat in James’ had wouldn’t stand for it. The first cat hastily jumped out James’ arms before running and jumping into Catherine’s arms. Two more cats cautiously walked past the group to Catherine.
“Oh Ms Ning are these your pets? They are so cute.” Anna was the first to squeal as she jumped up shocking everyone especially Jeremy.
“Yes they are.” Although she answered indifferently the warmth in her eyes as she looked at her pets was obvious.
“Really, I never pegged you for a cat person. What are their names.” Katie excitedly asked.
“That is belle” Catherine said pointing towards the cat that pounced on James, “this is taffy” pointing towards the already sleeping cat in her arms. “And these two are popcorn and cookie.”
“Wow what strange ad cute names.” Bibi commented
“Yh Catherine why did you give them such terrible names” Jeremy arrogantly said earning him a cold glare from Catherine.
“I named her taffy because she likes to stick to people and the more you try to get her off the more she sticks. I named her belle because she is both tough and graceful just like sleeping beauty. I named her popcorn because she is light just like popcorn and very energetic, and her cookie because she is brown with dark spots just like a chocolate chip cookie.” Catherine said all that while softly looking at her cats and gently petting them, she didn’t realize that she had dropped her defenses and shown her sweet and cute side to others.
She sat their petting her pets and smiling just like a child leaving James and Jeremy so shocked their eyes were wide open, they grew up with Catherine she has never said so much at once especially while smiling, this trip was introducing a whole new Catherine to them.
The girls who didn’t really know Catherine didn’t see anything weird and moved closer to pet the pets. They cats relished in the attention while pretending not to care.
Sitting in a corner missing the club scene was Danny; he wasn’t really paying attention until he heard a soft voice saying the cutest thing he ever heard. He turned his head slightly to see a view more breath taking than the scenery around, Catherine smiling. So she can smile, she isn’t a robot. What a beautiful smile, she’s actually so gorgeous.
Then at the edge quietly petting a rabbit while watching the show Samuel abruptly stopped what he was doing. He stared intently at Catherine’s smile. It was so bewitching, so entrancing and so… so familiar but where?
