All It Takes Is One Night - 73 Chapter 73
“But what about your business, you and Ms Song have worked so hard and” the worried assistant said.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be back in business soon enough”
After calming their assistant down and seeing her out, Cindy stood at the centre of her dream and couldn’t believe it.
About a year ago she and Katie put all their savings into officially buying this office space, they lived on nothing for months and now finally they were getting business and profit and they lost it all.
All that hard work in vain, everything was falling apart and there was nothing she could do about it. All the events of the past two days struck all at ones, she slipped to the floor with her head between her legs and quietly sobbed.
After Nathan left James’ office, he was so angry. He had feelings; he just didn’t believe in love, he watched how his own parent’s marriage fell apart. His parents got together for their family’s benefit not for love and although they were married on the outside no one knew better than him that his parents had countless secret relationships. So, he definitely didn’t believe in relationship or marriage he just wanted to enjoy his life.
He got in his car and was about to drive to his own company to finish his work when he got news alert about a certain design company that was currently shut down and being investigated for tax fraud. ‘Wait, isn’t that James’ girlfriend’s company.’ As he was about to scroll onto another news story he suddenly recalled that he knew this company, he drove straight towards Starlight.
When he arrived at the office building he saw a bunch of men coming in and out of the building carrying things from furniture to mannequins. Nathan walked past them and took the elevator to Starlight’s floor, there he saw a couple of men carrying more things out, and right in the middle of the mess he saw a small silhouette crouched on the floor with her head between her legs.
Nathan walked closer to the silhouette cautiously before finally recognizing it as Cindy. He rushed up to her and held up dragging her to a corner away from the workers.
“What’s going on here?” Nathan immediately asked. All he got were incoherent words from Cindy.
She looked disoriented and confused; she had puffy eyes and a very pitiful look all over her face. Nathan was certainly not a patient person especially not towards women, and it was clear that he wasn’t going to get any useful information from Cindy.
Nathan prepared to leave dragging Cindy with him; the moment he took his first steps Cindy jerked forward losing her footing falling right on the floor. He watched on the floor, sighing and rolling his eyes he bent down lifting her over his shoulders and walking out of Starlight.
He placed her in the back of his car and drove back to Ning Corporation. He walked into the front office with Cindy still over his shoulder and took the elevator straight to James’ office.
Immediately he entered he didn’t even glance at James’ he walked straight to the sofa and placed Cindy down. Throughout the whole journey she was so quite almost like she had lost touch of reality.
After placing Cindy on the sofa, Nathan turned to face the stunned James.
“I don’t want to hear it, Katie missing isn’t only affecting you it’s also affecting her.” He said pointing at the expressionless Cindy. “I thought you should know that your girlfriend’s business is falling in ruins.”
“What are you talking about?” James asked immediately.
Nathan told James the whole story leaving James at a loss for words. He could easily fix this but he could tell that someone was manipulating this behind the scenes; otherwise it won’t have escalated so quickly.
The first person they thought off was the Xies but it couldn’t be them, one because they should have learnt their lesson and two they don’t really have such powers.
“Ok stop, no matter how much you investigate you might not find anything. I know someone who can help.” Nathan firmly said.
