Almighty Summoner System - Chapter 268
Dawn came and like usual, Ban woke up very early. It was already one of his habits to wake up early even when he was still in the care of his gramps. Only when he was extremely tired or when he slept late at night did he sometimes woke up late.
Eva was still on his chest, sleeping soundly.
Ban checked his Beast Tattoo to see the situation inside. Tria was still resting, the effect of the Purmi Fruit might be better than expected seeing that Tria was still in the process of digesting it.
Ban ignored Tria for now and cast his gaze towards the Unknown Egg. Its size and color remained the same as before. As if knowing that Ban was looking at it, the Unknown Egg suddenly trembled a little, seemingly requesting something. And for that something, Ban knew extremely well what it was.
Shaking his head, Ban slowly stood up and put Eva on his lap before he retrieved the body of an Elite Grade Beast that he killed yesterday from the Dimensional Earring. It was the last Beast they killed before they arrived on this place. Fortunately, the Beast’s size was not that large so the size of the tent remained as it was.
After the body of the Beast was ejected, he then summoned the Unknown Egg and let it consume the Beast with pain on his heart. And yet another Gold Coin was deposited on this greedy Unknown Egg.
After it consumed the body of the Beast, Ban hurriedly stored it inside the Beast Tattoo again.
Looking at the Dimensional Storage, he still has 3 E-Elite Mild Tempered Crocodiles left that he set aside for the Unknown Egg. There were another 3 but they are only F-Apprentice so the picky Unknown Egg would not even glance at it. This 3 F-Apprentice Mild Tempered Crocodiles was also set aside by him so that he could sell them to Joana or even roast them if there’s no other option on the menu.
There was another body inside the Dimensional Storage, however, it was the body of the Demon Mushroom and it was a bargaining chip that he set aside for now.
The Unknown Egg has already consumed 10 Beast in total. With the additional 3 that he set aside, it was safe to assume that he only needed 37 more Elite Grade or above Beast before the requirement for it to hatch would be met.
Although 37 Elite Grade Beast was still a huge amount, Ban was not disheartened but was in fact motivated to hunt even more.
Eva has already woken up at this time. She rubbed her round big eyes as she yawned like a human. Seeing how cute she was, Ban could not help but smile and pinch her cheek. Eva acted mad and slapped his hands away, but in truth, she was actually happy inside.
Not waiting for Ban to tease her any further, she crawled and rested towards his head, lying there comfortably.
Ban could only smile and shake his head as he stood up. Using the various items provided by Kuys inside the Dimensional Storage Ring, Ban washed and cleaned himself a little before he started his set of daily exercises.
After an hour or so, he finished all of them aside from the run. He planned to complete it while hunting later.
He wiped his face with a towel before changing into a set of clothes. He then armed himself with his various items except for the Ant Mask and the Moth Cloak before he went outside the tent.
The surroundings were no longer dark as bits of sunlight passed through the gaps of the leaves of the trees, shining and illuminating what’s below.
Ban took a glance and noticed that Tria’s tent was already folded up. He was already aware of it earlier when he was exercising so he was not surprised. As for where Tria was at, Ban only knew that she left half an hour ago, as for where she went, Ban didn’t know.
Exactly 6 meters opposite to their tent was the tent of Ciera and the three students of Yakob. This time, the uninfected student of Yakob has already woken up as well. As if sensing his gaze, the student turned his head and nodded towards Ban as a greeting. Ban nodded in response as well.
The student’s mood was gloomy. From his current reaction, it appears that he was already aware of Yakob’s disappearance, or perhaps, he was already notified by Yakob in advance and was already instructed on what to do.
There are three tents opposite Ban at this moment. The one at the center was where Ciera was at. While the other two were occupied by the three students respectively.
Using the Echo Hearing Skill earlier, Ban was aware that the two infected students were gathered on the right tent, while the uninfected student rested on the left one. From what Ban could ‘see’ with the Echo Hearing Skill, the three infected people were bound by something. They might not appear as if they were struggling but their minute movements could not escape the Echo Hearing Skill.
Ban already guessed that Yakob must have used some special means to restrict them without hurting them. And from the current situation, it was clear to see that it was very effective.
This might actually be the reason why Yakob left confidently. Perhaps, he might have even left some preparations or means in order to make sure that his students and Ciera were safe while he was away.
He did not leave confidently because he trusted Ban, but he left knowing that there won’t be any harm aside from the worms that he was also unsure of.
Actually, Ban thought that restricting their movement was actually not a very good idea. The worm would only try to ‘attack’ when it was hungry, so most of the time, it would be in a state of slumber, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
During this time, the infected will regain some of their reason, and will be able to communicate easily and control their actions. The act of restricting them the entire time was useless, and might even be a little harmful to their bodies if done for a long period of time.
However, Ban does not plan on telling them about this for the time being. Yakob was not here, so even if he did tell the student the truth, they wouldn’t be able to do anything as only Yakob knew of what method he used to restrict their movements.
In truth, Ban had some guesses but he dared not guarantee that it was the method used by Yakob. The situation was not that dire yet anyways.
Ban nodded his head to himself, finding his reason very probable. He secretly smiled to himself, as he felt some sort of accomplishment thinking about it, and even arriving at a decent conclusion.
However, Ban also shook his head a while later. What he inferred might not be the truth.
Well, even if it was the truth, it has nothing to do with him anyways. In the first place, he doesn’t have any motive to hurt their party, and he was sure that Tria doesn’t have any either. Their enemy during this time would only be the stray Beast that would wander around here.
Ban felt his stomach tremble so he prepared to set off to hunt. He could retrieve the crocodile to cook but he chose not to for the time being. It was because he was reminded by Tria yesterday that he shouldn’t carelessly use the Storage Ring, especially in front of others to avoid unnecessary attention.
Ban was already aware of it but he still etched the advice deep on his mind. Having meat to cook, especially as big as the Mild Tempered Crocodile would surely be quite eye-catching. Even though only one person was sane around him at the moment, Ban still did not dare to act rashly.
There was the body of the Four Wingbats but he was disgusted by merely thinking of eating it. He was even afraid of catching some disease if he consumed it.
With all of that reason, he decided to go and hunt for some ‘small’ Beast to cook for breakfast.
He told his intention to the student to not alarm the latter and just as he was about to set off, his ears suddenly perked up as he heard the rustling of leaves in the distance.
