Almighty Summoner System - Chapter 269
As Ban turned his head, he saw a figure emerging from the bushes.
The figure was wearing a green cape along with a mask that only covered the upper part of her face. Due to the mask covering the upper half of the figure’s face, it formed a unique vibe that allowed the spectator to focus their gaze on her thin lips.
The mask was designed with the color of black and green, with the black color mostly occupying the area around the eyes. The nose of the mask formed something that resembles an animal or even a Beast’s nose.
The figure has the hood of the cape covering their head, but from the slim body proportion and the dripping black hair on the shoulder, anyone could tell at a glance that the figure was a ‘she’.
The figure was none other than Rila. The person tasked by Kuys to protect Ban in secret, who unknowingly already revealed herself to Ban.
Behind her was her Summoned Monster, Sneaky Ostrich. It was taller than Rila by two heads. Its body was also big, only slightly smaller than Yakob’s massive Yak. It has a bald head but different from the color of its neck, the head of the ostrich was actually black. It’s body or feathers has a gray color while its two long legs were pinkish with a tint of black on it.
Looking at it, Ban could tell that it was a fast runner, and judging from its thick legs, he was sure that it was a strong kicker too.
However, what Ban didn’t know was that Tria’s Burst mode was actually faster than the running speed of the ostrich. Rila was even left behind in an instant even though she already used the transformation skill before. And what’s more, the Ostrich, although just a newly evolved one, was actually already a D-Rank Monster. For Tria to outrun it, it was really pretty impressive.
Of course, Rila being left behind was also due to a lot of reasons. First, due to the wet and forest-like environment of the Death Swamp, it restricts her movements, and second, due to Tria being not only fast but also agile, turning at any direction without any post, it caused Rila to get a headache as the long leg of the ostrich does not allow such swift turns and lastly, it was because of Tria’s overpowered burst mode. However, if Tria and the ostrich, or even the half transformed Rila was to race on a flat and straight ground, it was still left unknown if Tria could still produce such a result.
Ban could’ve asked the System to upload the corresponding details of the ostrich to his brain but he didn’t do so yet. It was because he didn’t badly need such information for the time being and absorbing the knowledge would also make him dizzy for some time.
However no longer thought of the matter and instead focused his gaze on the back of the Sneaky Ostrich. There, he saw a dead huge Beast, two times bigger than a normal dog.
At first glance, he could tell that the Beast was only an F-Apprentice and a Normal Grade one. However, Ban’s eyes still lit up seeing that, and with Rila bringing it over, it was already very clear what her intentions were.
She wanted to share it with them, or more precisely, just him.
And as if to confirm Ban’s guess, Rila did not even glance at the tent opposite them as she walked directly towards Ban.
“Can you cook this? The one you gave me yesterday was delicious.”
Ban only smiled and replied, “Sure!”
It just so happened that Ban also wanted to hunt for food. But with the one presented by Rila, he no longer have to waste any time searching for one.
He then went towards the Sneaky Ostrich and took the dead Beast from its back. He then brought it towards the back of his tent. He doesn’t want to inconvenience the students of Yakob seeing that he was also trying to prepare their own food.
He even glanced at the dead Beast and Ban noticed him gulping a mouthful of saliva after seeing it. However, he only did that and immediately went back to his business.
With his strength, Ban has no trouble carrying the huge dead Beast at all. The blood of the Beast was already mostly drained, Rila must’ve done it already to avoid having the meat of the Beast turn black. Although it won’t matter much, the taste of the Beast would surely deter from the one with a blood drained after it was killed.
After he skinned it using a normal knife, he threw the fur to the side as he doesn’t have any use for that. They could be made into clothes at most that can be sold for a few Silvers but with Ban’s current financial situation and the System’s daily reward, he actually no longer bothered such amounts anymore. Anyways, even though most of the Beast he hunted recently was consumed by the greedy egg, with the Wingbats that he hunted from before, he could already earn a lot of coins, a hundred times more compared to making the furs into clothes that also needs a lot of time to process.
Just like before, he asked the System the knowledge concerning the dead Beast and and aftera dizzy moment, he directly thought of the possible recipes he could cook with the Beast. After some time, he finally chose to boil it into broth.
It was because he felt that he already has been eating a lot of either roasted or barbecued meat recently. He wanted to have another menu on the table.
After preparing the meat, he took the other cooking utensils from the Dimensional Ring, which he disguised as something that he had gotten from the Storage Pouch on his waist.
Rila nodded upon seeing his action, she was glad that Ban listened to her warning from before.
She then focused her attention on his get up, Rila could only shake her head. At a glance, anyone could tell that those armors and gears were made with special materials. His get up was outright screaming, ‘I’m rich, please rob me!’
She shook her head as she reminded herself to remind the young and inexperienced Ban about it later.
