- Volume 2 Chapter 363 Did You Miss Me During Lunch?4
What Sam said was the truth, Arlo clenched his fist cursed the both News channel and Ryan. The latter canceled his meeting and paced around in his office after giving a few orders to the PR department. He was thinking about what Arlo would do once he meets him.
Within five minutes, headlines changed.
‘Ryan Wilson was inspecting the Legacy and asked for the review about Hotel from Chairman Harley hence he was courteous and there is no other relation between two compa nies.’
Sam asked Sky, “You did this or Sigma.”
“Former.” Sky sighed and started checking the investigation data on Sam’s laptop.
“Why did you lie?” Sam couldn’t understand why she saved Sigma from embarrassment.
Sky answered without raising her head, “If I say he was an uninvited guest, that will not be aired on TV and if it airs that will make them offend that brainless man and he will senselessly close down the media company from which many will lose their jobs. Won’t that signify I have a relationship with him without clarifying it? I would rather die than to be with that Joker.”
Sky suddenly raised her head and looked at Sam, “What’s wrong with Sigma’s president? why did he appoint such a man as his assistant? Are they really a couple?”
Sky couldn’t see Arlo’s darkened face as she was facing Sam. The latter looked at her and Arlo before pursing his lips. Sky suddenly widened his eyes realizing something, “If they are a real couple, President of Sigma will be furious on me and Harley… Sh*t! Why do I attract so many problems?”
Just then Sky’s mobile rang on her desk. She went to check it. It was an unknown number. Sky went back towards the sofa saying, “Sam! I think we will have lots of work this weekend.”
She showed an unknown number to him. “This is my personal number. It isn’t difficult for that Joker or for that cruel president to get my number.”
‘Cruel?’ Arlo didn’t know what to say. If the call was from Ryan, he would surely teach him a lesson.
Sam knew that call couldn’t be from Arlo or Ryan hence he clicked on receive and speaker. “Yes?” Sam asked.
There was a pause in the line, “Isn’t this Ms.Sky’s number?”
Sky immediately recognized his voice and kept her palm on the forehead. After seeing her reaction, Sam replied for her, “Ms.Sky is busy now to receive the call.”
He was about to hang up, a voice again came from another end, “Please inform Ms.Sky that Kris called her. Thank you.”
Kris hung up and Sam flashed her a smile which actually meant for Arlo whose face was getting darker as coal by each minute.
“Why did he get my number?” Sky mumbled to herself.
Arlo excused himself and went to the kitchen to prepare for lunch.
He called Ryan right away. Before he could speak, Ryan started to apologize. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I will make sure never to meet her as Ryan. I didn’t expect this to happ…”
Arlo cut in, “Shut up.”
Ryan shivered in his office. Arlo continued, “Sky already cleaned this mess. Don’t overdo anything.”
He paused and continued. “Why is Kris Lan is so free to worry about Sky?”
Arlo’s eyes were frosty as his every word. Ryan wiped his sweat knowing the reason behind his anger. “I will keep him busy. I will.”
Arlo hangup and breathed deep to calm himself before starting to cook.
…
In the office
She went through all the companies details who hired the event management companies and faked a party for no reason.
Sky asked after initial understanding but Sam knew before that. “Why are they all connecting to Sigma?” Sigma’s subsidiary companies, clients, employees had hired the event management companies.
When Sam went out by getting drinks as a reason, he had called Jai to report it. Then he got to know he knew about it. It was to make her return to work hence he left her to find herself.
Sam didn’t respond to her. Sky finished checking again and gritted her teeth. “Why the hell sigma is interfering in our work? Was that idiot came to laugh at us if the party was not up to the mark?”
Sky knew Sigma was hard to deal with but she couldn’t understand why they were targeting them. “Sam! Was I too rude to Ryan Wilson?”
She was only rude because he provoked her with fake project mail. Then for attending without invitation. Upon that he knew her identity, Why does he investigate her? She had lots of questions too.
Sam noticed the shift in her expression. “Don’t you want to strike back?”
“I want to. I’m thinking of a way. They are truly ruthless. A word from them, We will have no clients. They aren’t worth it for me to sacrifice Harley corporation.”
Sky was still thinking when Sam spoke, “I will find a safe route. Stop thinking about it and finish your work.” He pointed at her desk which had a pile of files.
“But…” Sky didn’t want him to be in a problem because of her.
“Don’t worry.” Even if he reveals himself or Sky, he was sure Sigma won’t do anything to them. One more was he loved challenges and it was the best chance for him.
“Then, I look forward to it.” Sky smiled at him and sent him off.
Sky’s head was throbbing thinking about Sigma hence she left her work to accompany Arlo in the kitchen before going back to work.
Arlo didn’t expect Sky to come as she had lots of files to complete. Sky strode in and saw french fries were ready. She took the golden fry and tasted, “yummm!… crispy and soft.”
Arlo’s cloudy mood instantly dissipated seeing her enjoying the fries he prepared. He hit on her hand when she was taking another one.
“Wash your hands or use fork or chopsticks.” Then he took out chopsticks to give her.
“I don’t want.” she said as she went near washbasin to wash her hands, “Perfect way to eat and enjoy french fries is using fingers.”
Seeing her eating one after the other, he resignedly commented, “Are you going to finish it completely without leaving me a piece?”
