Alternate World Online - Chapter 100
Dro looked at Erylis and nodded his head, “Alright, you can activate this trial. I will go” Erylis smiled and nodded her head. She walked up towards the huge gate and extended her hand. She extended her hand and placed it on the large gate. Then she spoke some strange words that Dro could understand every single word that she spoke. Dro titled his head. For some reason, he felt the language that she spoke really familiar. After the words have been spoken a rumbling sound emerged and Erylis walked away from the gate. She looked at Dro and said, “Drip your blood on the ground at the foot of the gate and the trial will begin.”
Dro nodded his head, “Alright. But are you sure you won’t take this trial yourself? After all, it’s only once in 100,000 years.”
Erylis said, “Don’t worry about me and go drip your blood at the foot of the gate.”
Dro approached the gate and he bit through his finger. The blood appeared and he dripped the blood from his finger on the foot of the gate. Once again rumbling sound emerged and the writings on the gate started glowing in red colour. The gate rumbled and it opened up. Erylis looked at Dro, “I will wait for you here. Good luck.”
Dro nodded his head and he walked through the passage. The door closed behind him and he was now standing in a new room. Dro looked at his surroundings.
Erylis looked at the closed gate and thought, “When my father did the trial he failed and he did not receive anything. I hope that you can do what my father could not. Two million years ago my ancestor passed the first trial and his blood was purified and from then on my family became the family that ruled the entire race of Vampires. Uniting all the Vampire clans under one name.”
…
Dro entered the through this gate and now he stood in the new room. The floors and walls were made of stone. The stones were not damaged in any way. Considering that this vault was built more than a billion years ago.
Besides the floor and walls, the room was lit up by the two torches that illuminated a single path. On the two sides of this path stood two statues. The statues of a man and a woman. The statue of a man was holding a spear and the statue of a woman was holding a sword. The spear that the man held was the spear that Erylis wielded when fighting. The spear had a design of a dragon on it while the sword had a design of white tiger imprinted on it.
Dro looked at these statues for a moment before averting his gaze as he looked at the path that was between the two statues. Dro looked into this path and saw that there was not a single torch on the path and it was also pitch dark. Dro looked down this path and thought, “Time to go!”
Dro walked towards this path as he had made up his mind. He walked towards this dark path. Dro slowly walked into the darkness. The further he went the dimmer it became. After travelling for ten breaths of time. The light disappeared completely and there was only darkness.
“How long will this path last for?” Thought Dro as he walked further and further. No matter how far he went there was still no end in sight. Dro walked and walked. After Dro walked for another forty breaths of time, he finally in the distance saw the light. Dro looked at the light and smiled. He thought, Finally!”
Dro rushed at this and emerged in the new room. When Dro entered the room he saw two more torches and a single statue. Dro looked at this statue and observed it. This statue held no weapon. It was the statue of an old man. Dro took a step forward and the eyes of the statue glowed red.
The statue moved. It got down its own platform and looked towards Dro, “After 100,000 years another one comes to take the trial.”
Dro looked at this state and he asked, “How can you move?”
When Dro asked this question he immediately felt stupid and he laughed into the air and he thought, “Well, of course, he can move.”
Dro looked at this statue and asked another question, “So what is this trial?”
The statue that got off its platform looked at Dro and spoke, “I will only give you the first trial as I am only a gatekeeper who will introduce you to the rules of the trials. Listen, human. There are five trials. Passing each trial will give you the benefit and a reward. Passing the first trial will purge your blood.” The statue looked at Dro and said, “Your blood is already of the purest kind, the first reward is useless to you.”
The statue continued, “If you pass the second trial you will be given an ability that was used by the ancient one. Passing the third trial will reinforce your cells and you will get even stronger when you are levelling up. Talking about the fourth and fifth trial rewards are not even mentioning for as not a single person has ever passed those two trials. When you are ready, speak to me and I will teleport you to the trial grounds.”
Dro looked at the statue and asked, “If the first reward is useless for me can’t I just skip the first trial?”
The statue shook it’s head, “You cannot. All trials must be passed in order.”
Dro nodded his head in understanding. He sighed and looking at the statue said, “Alright. Bring me to the first trial then.”
The statue nodded it’s head, “Very well!”
The statue extended its hand, made of marble and Dro’s surroundings changed. When his surroundings changed the statue spoke, “The first trial is the easiest trial of them all. All you have to do is an answer a simple riddle.”
