Alternate World Online - Chapter 117
“Is this some sort of a sick joke?!” Valeif shouted out in response to the words of the figure. But her words have not reached the figure as it was already gone. The players as well didn’t react to Valeif’s sudden outburst as they were all busy reacting to this situation themselves.
“Calm down!” Valeif said to herself and closed her eyes. She took a few breaths with her closed eyes before opening them again. Her opened eyes were already calm with no trace of unease or panic.
“I need to check if what that floating figure said was the truth!” Valeif thought.
Valeif extended her hand and clenched her fist. With her action, the menu opened and Valeif searched for the logout button. A moment passed and Valeif sighed and thought, “So it’s true. There is no logout functionality.”
Valeif thought, “In my entire life there was only one thing that I could trust – my luck. If I am here that means that my luck has led me here. There is no reason for me to panic. And according to that figure – the time here and the time in the real world flows differently. So even after these twenty years have passed. I wouldn’t have lost a single day in real life. So there really is no reason for me to panic.” A smile appeared on her lips.
Valeif turned her eyes to the left and to the right. She saw players panicking, shouting, screaming around her. She shook her head and thought, “Why are they panicking? So stupid!”
Before averting her eyes, she spotted one figure that didn’t panic. The individual that didn’t panic was a youth. Valeif blinked her eyes at him and she thought, “He really is calm compared to the others.” She focused on the youth and a name appeared before her,
<dro, level=”” 1,=”” warrior=””></dro,>
Her eyes only stayed on him for a short breath of time. She moved her eyes away and thought, “I should leave but before that, I should learn the tome and look at my stats and my skills.”
Valeif extended her hand, clenched her fist and first opened her inventory. She then selected the and clicked it. With it, messages flashed before her.
Valeif thought, “Now for the stats.”
She extended her hand, clenched it and from the menu selected the character window.
Valeif thought, “There are no more skills? Where are my skills from my class Fallen Valkyrie?”
Valeif closed the window and looked around and saw that there were no longer any players around her. She shrugged her shoulders and thought, “Time for me to go as well. But where should I go?” She blinked her eyes and mumbled, “If in doubt, rely on luck.”
She glanced back at her wings and plucked a feather. She held the feather in front of her face and threw it into the sky. No wind blew and the feather just fell down. It fell on top of Valeif’s head.
“Does that mean I should use the ?”
“How do I use the skills though?” Valeif wondered.
The girl scratched her hand an idea flashed in her mind. She extended her hand and thought, “.” In just a moment a dark portal appeared before her. She smirked and thought, “I really am a genius!” The girl walked through the portal and her surroundings changed.
With the changed surroundings – a notification flashed before her,
The place she had arrived had dead dark ground. The sky was grey and in this grey sky, a sun and a moon were visible. The sun was pitch black and pitch black rays radiated around it. Near the sun there was a moon and it as well as the sun, was pitch black. The only difference between the two was that the moon didn’t radiate any rays around itself.
Even though the sky was grey and the sun was pitch black, the visibility was the same as during the day. Valeif looked around this place and saw a skeleton standing in front of her. The skeleton had an orange quest marker. The quest marker that symbolised the hidden quests. Valeif tilted her head and she thought, “Orange quest marker? Aren’t they supposed to be yellow?”
Valeif shrugged her shoulders and thought, “Well no matter. A quest is a quest. Doesn’t matter what colour the marker is.”
Valeif approached this skeleton and said, “Hello, do you have a quest for me?”
The skeleton looked with its empty sockets at Valeif and words left its throat, “Oh great necromancer let me serve you. I wish to leave the underworld and once again walk the soil of the mortal world. Oh, great necromancer please bound me to yourself!”
The quest marker changed to a black colour and a notification message flashed,
Valeif reached out for her feather, plucked it and threw it into the air and said, “If it lands facing you, I will accept. If it doesn’t, I won’t.”
The girl threw the feather into the air and the skeleton turned its attention to the feather that was thrown upwards.
