Alternate World Online - Chapter 99
“Alright let’s go,” Dro thought as he walked away from the quest giver and towards the town. He wanted to see if there was an NPC like Joshua who sold good items. As he walked the city Dro saw that there were two more quests. One of the two quests was marked with an orange quest marker which meant that it was a hidden quest. Dro could see all hidden quests below as he had prestige .
Prestige also made that NPCs acted friendlier to the player and they would even give better quest rewards. But as Dro was already a progenitor in Vampire society. NPCs wouldn’t change how they interacted with him with an exception of favourability. With high enough favourability slight changed in interaction would happen.
At this time Dro didn’t take any of the two quests he saw in the town. His only goal at the time was to find out if there were vendors like Joshua. Dro moved through the city as he looked around at his surroundings. His eyes stopped at the church. The church had broken down doors. When Dro’s eyes landed on the open church with no doors. He recalled the events that happened inside. He recalled his fight against the werewolves and the first vampire he met count Tharon. He recalled how the other progenitors had broken down the church doors.
Dro tilted his head in confusion and thought, “Rest of the town seems repaired. Why are the doors to the church the only ones not fixed?” Dro shook his head and moved his eyes away from the church. Dro returned to his task of searching for the vendor like Joshua.
After lapping the town a single Dro stopped and sighed, “I found three vendors and all three of them only common items.” Dro shook his head and thought, “So no more good items from a vendor then. That’s too bad, but oh well. I should go and accept those two quests that I passed by earlier.”
Without waiting for anything else or wasting any more time, Dro walked towards the Quest Givers. The first Quest giver he faced had a yellow quest marker above his head. This quest marker symbolised a story progression quest for the area.
“What can I help you with,” Dro asked the quest giver that was now in front of him.
The quest giver was a Vampire girl that looked around eighteen years old. The Vampire girl down her head, “Your, Excellency.”
Dro asked, “What do you need me to do?”
“Your Excellency will help me?” She asked.
Dro said, “Raise your head up and tell me what you need need to be done”
“As you command,” The girl raised her head up and looked Dro in his eyes, “I ask that your Excellency would bring this letter to my brother, he is in the cave that was once inhabited by the werewolves.”

“Alright, I will do it,” Dro accepted without a second thought.
“Thank you, your Excellency.” The Vampire girl bowed her head as she showed her respect to the Vampire progenitor.
Dro moved his eyes away from the girl and he walked towards the other quest giver that had the quest for him. The quest giver that he approached had a hidden quest. Dro already knew that hidden quests were more challenging and they had better rewards.
Dro approached this quest giver with an orange quest maker and he looked at his appearance. This quest giver was a man with a youthful appearance.
When Dro approached near him. The man immediately bowed his head even before Dro got a chance to speak to him, “Your Excellency.”
Dro asked, “Tell me what you need to be done.”
Vampire raised his head, “People of our town have been saying that they saw werewolves sneaking around. I fear that there are still werewolves on our island. Go to the woods and find the werewolves and kill them.”

Dro answered, “Alright, I will do it.”
“Thank you, your Excellency.” The Vampire quest giver bowed his head.
After Dro accepted the quests he looked down at this weaponless hand and frowned, “I can’t just go without having a weapon. Even a dagger would be better at this point.” Dro frowned, “Will Erylis give me a weapon if I ask her?”
“It’s worth to at least give it a try.” Dro waved his hand and cast his after the gate appeared he walked through the gate and appeared in the caste of the Vampire Queen. Erylis looked at Dro that appeared before her and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Dro turned his head to the Queen of Vampires. He moved his eyes as he searched for Reiya. Dro frowned and asked, “Where is Reiya?”
Erylis replied, “She is hunting werewolves.”
“Why?” Dro asked with a frown.
“Because I told her to” Queen answered without changing her expression.
Dro nodded his head and thought, “Well she has her there is no need to worry.” Dro without thinking too much asked, “Can you give me a weapon?”
Erylis said, “Didn’t I tell you I would give you a weapon after you regain your strength?”
Dro sighed and shook his head, “I have no weapon equipped. I need at least something to fight with.”
Erylis looked at Dro and thought, then said, “Just answer me a simple question and you will get your weapon.
Dro asked, “Alright, what is the question?”
Erylis looking at Dro asked, “Have you kissed anyone before?”
Dro’s mouth twitched and he not understanding what was with this question replied, “I have not kissed anyone in my life.”
Erylis nodded her head and a smile appeared on her face for a single moment before it disappeared. Dro frowned and he thought, “What was with that smile? What was with that question? Why did my favourability increase with her? And since my favourability with her is now over 40 a reward should be available for me.”
Erylis stood up from her throne, “Let’s go.”
Dro was caught by surprise and he asked, “Where are we going?”
Erylis stood up from her throne and walked to one of the passages that were present by the sides of her throne, “Follow me.”
Dro without any other option walked after Erylis who walked to the path that led to the left. Dro followed after Erylis. Unlike the last time, they took turns that they didn’t before and before long they were descending the stairs.
“Where are we going?” Dro asked as he looked at the Queen’s back.
“We are going to the vault of the royal family. This vault was built by the first Vampire. The Ancient Vampire, known as the Ancient One who lived more than one billion years ago.”
Dro narrowed his eyes and thought, “Isn’t my race now called the Ancient Vampire and my class Ancient one?” Dro looked at Erylis’s back and inquired, “So why are we going to this vault?”
Erylis sighed, “This vault is not a vault but a testing grounds that only unlocks every 100,000 years. The testing grounds has unlocked a few short days ago and I was planning on going there myself. But I will give you a chance, my fifth.”
Dro narrowed his eyes, “Why? Weren’t you going to take the test?”
Erylis sighed and thought, “I wonder about that myself. Why am I even doing this? Maybe it was because …” She shook her head and said, “That doesn’t matter. All that matter is that I am giving you a chance to do it. Don’t disappoint me fifth.”
Before Dro could say another word he spotted a huge gate that now appeared before them. The gate had two figures standing by each side. One figure was of a Vampire man and another figure of Vampire woman. On the gate were strange writings which Dro couldn’t read.
Erylis walked towards the gate before she turned around and looked straight at Dro and said, “We are here. Once you are ready tell me and I will activate that trial of the Ancient One.”
