Scarlett sat, watching Lance as he tried to use his Ren-Ky jewel. The jewel started to glow but then faded as he tried to activate it.
Lance fell to his knees in exhaustion. “It’s no use, I can’t use it anymore?”
Gregson walked up to Lance, “You are holding yourself back. Think of the reason and fix the problem. I am heading down to the village to get supplies for dinner. You stay here and figure out you whose. Scarlett will be with you to help you figure out your issue.”
Scarlett watched Gregson walk by, then turned to Lance. “Lance? This has been happening ever since Lovell’s death? And now for the whole winter, you have been trying to force your self to activate your Ren-Ky weapon. I think you need to take a step back so we both can figure out what is going on with us and why we both can not activate them?”
Lance begrudgingly nodded as he got up and sat beside her. “I know, but something happened where we couldn’t use them. It’s either the shock of losing Lovell or something completely different.”
Scarlett sighed, “Well, we were able to activate them when we were training at your kingdom, then the incident with your father happened.” Scarlett began listing things that happened. “Next, we are told to seek out Gregson, where he told us more about the Ren-Ky’s and what they represent. From there, I don’t know?”
Lance let out a growl, “Great, that was helpful?”
Scarlett closed her eye and pondered over everything, “I think we are looking at how we look at being a Ren-Ky? Look, before all the shit hit the fan, we trained with the Evermore elves and learned the basics on how to activate the stones. Then Lovell died, and thenpoofwe lose our ability because” Scarlett trailed off.
Lance sat up at stared at her, “Scarlett, what is it?”
“I know why we cannot use them?”
Lance stared at her, confused as she stood up. “Scarlett, what do you mean?”
She turned to Lance, “Lance, we have forgotten that we are part of a team a-and that we are both doubting ourselves. To the point we are unable to use the weaponswell, call them forth.”
Lance looked at his stone, thinking about it did make sense. Lance stood up and began to focus once more. This time remembering what Kratos taught them. Lance efforts paid off as he brought forth. Scarlett jumped in joy for Lance as the weapon fully formed.
Lance held the weapon, he noticed it was slightly different than before. “Wow, it actually worked! Scarlett, it actually worked!”
Lance admired the weapon; it was the shape of a glaive. With the head of the blade was of is was tinted green. And the details looked as if the wind was sweeping across the surface of the blade, with a tattered green cloth adjourning the base of the blade.
“It had never looked like this before it was so” Lance tried to describe the weapon.
“Basic?” Scarlett interjected. “It so strange, all our Ren-Ky weapons were basic, maybe with everything that is happening. The weapons change with us?”
Lance nodded in agreement before he turned to Scarlett, “Hey, Scarlett? Why don’t you give it a try? Just remember what we learned back with Kratos. That’s what helped I did.”
Scarlett walked over, passed Lance as she sat down, “Right the basics,” She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. ‘Okay then, let’s do this.”
Scarlett focused as the weapon appeared; she opened her eyes to see a whip with a diamonded shape stone at the end of it. Thorn like spines running alone the braided cord. She then turned her attention to the hilt, the leather looked as if it was cut to look like rocked were smooth into a cylindrical shape, while keeping their geometric shape engraved the shaft.
“I don’t believe it? It looked as if the earth shaped it?” Scarlett traced her eyes along with her weapon.
Lance walked up beside her, “Yeah, your right?” He then looked at his, “Now that I think about it, mine looks as if the wind helps form mine. You don’t think the original versions looked like this? Do you?”
Scarlett shook her head, “I have no idea, but we now know we can resummon our weapons. And I think we are ready to return to Luna and the others.”
Lance nodded when he notices Gregson walking up the hill. Gregson looked at them, smiling, “Well, well? What do we have here? The true form of your Ren-Ky weapons?”
Lance and Scarlett looked at each other before turning their attention to Gregson, “Wait, you knew this would happen?”
Gregson nodded as he sat on a log, placing the bag of groceries beside him. “Yes, each Ren-Ky weapon starts off looking like the basic form of the weapon representing their respected element. But when the wielder learns to accept themselves and grow as a person. The weapon changes.”
Scarlett went to speak, but Gregson raised his hand. “I am not finished, young Lady. I was there when Alli awoke hers. It was beautiful. The blade itself looked at if the summer winds kissed the blades. With golden tassels by the blade other than the green cloth, you have, young man.”
Lance stared at his weapon. “Really?”
Gregson nodded at him, “Really, and Sokar Moore’s was covered in rocky bumps with a simple leather strap for his.”
Scarlett stared at Gregson. “Who was Sokar?”
Gregson sighed before standing, “He was the previous Ren-Ky of Kindness, but that is for another time.” HE brushed his rear off before grabbing his groceries, “Now I think I will head inside, you two keep practicing. You might have a handle after a rough winter trying to resummon your weapons. But you have yet to master them.”
Scarlett sighed as Gregson walked away. She knew he was right and turned to Lance. “Well, it seems we are not leaving anytime soon.”
Lance nodded in agreement. “Yes, I just hope we will not be too late in stopping Demora once we can reconnect with the others?”
Scarlett nodded as she had unsummoned her weapon. Lance followed suit as they repeated the process.
Gregson stared at them from his kitchen window, “Wolf, you think they will be ready by that date?”
He turned to a holograph of Wolf, “Yes, they will be. I am heading farther north to see what is going on. After that, I will check on Hunter and Luna with the exiled soldier. I sent word to Digon to talk to them. I hope that everything goes to plan as they are stubborn and miss guided.”
Gregson nodded. “Make sure that Luna does not see you, or else she will sense who you are?”
Wolf laughed softly, “I know, I am going to find that item right after I am finished up north. That way, I don’t have to worry as much until the right moment.”
Gregson nodded as he looked out the window. “Well, they finally figured out how to summon their weapons once again, this time fully awakened.”
Wolf lowered his head, “That’s good, I will contact you again once everything is ready. That should be around the beginning of Junra? Contact me if they leave for some reason or another.”
“I will do so, contact you later.” Gregson glanced over as Wolf disconnected. “Let us hope that the others are ready in time.” Gregson finished putting the groceries away then walked past a photo with Alli and six others standing together. Their faces filled with joy.
