Days had pasted as Kratos watched Fang as he struggled to grasp Vivian’s words.
“Fang, you need to look in yourself and learn from your past. How hard is that to understand!?” Vivian barked as she swung the butt of her rifle at Fang.
Fang rubbed his head as he glared at Vivian. “Well, it isn’t that simple since my father erased most of my memories before he turned into Azoth.”
Vivian sighed as she tossed him an orb. “Here figure out how to access this and then come find me. Kratos, go find Zero, I want to see you train him.”
Kratos complied as he knew she had all the power right now. Fang passed to orb form one hand to the other as he tried to figure out what it was. Vivian just smiled as she walked to the child and her Jungo.
‘Miss Vivian, what is the matter?’ Fang glanced over as he heard the child’s thoughts.
Vivian smiled as she read the child’s body language, “I am fine, just frustrated with the dimwit over there. Besides, he acts as if he has never seen a memory orb.” The child laughed as she touched Vivian’s face. “I know, but I cannot right now. Later I will make some.”
The child smiled as Kratos returned with Zero. Vivian smiled as they walked over, “I got Zero, what kind of training would you suggest I start with?” Kratos asked as Zero glanced at Fang.
Vivian smiled at them. “How about stances, use the time laps stone to make your training area move faster than the outside,” V suggested.
Kratos nodded as he could tell she had her hands full with Fang. ‘Mister Fang, are you going to be all right with V’s training today?’ The child asked him.
Fang looked over at her and touched her head. “Yes, I think so. It is just I never dealt with time magic or life magic. I always stayed clear of them. As they can be dangerous magic to deal with.” Fang explained to the child.
Vivian huffed as she looked at him, “Dangerous? Ha! Only if you miss used it, just like any other magic. Heck, I have seen Holy magic used for evil purposes. What do you know about magic? Especially since spirit summoning combines summoning magic and life magic.”
Fang turned to Vivian as he raised his brow, “No, it does not?”
‘Umm, Fang, she is right. True summoning magic makes a contract with the living, not the dead. So, you need an understanding of Life magic to do spirit summoning.’ The child explains to Fang as he narrowed his eyes in disbelief.
Vivian grinned as she sat down. “Little Lora got, didn’t she?”
Fang looked at Vivian, “Wait, her name is Lora? How would you know that? She is mute unless you can use telepathy”
“Or spirit talk. The girl is a life mage. She is also my granddaughter. A half-elf, half some faremin human.” Vivian teleported a bottle of wine and started to drink from the bottle. “Ahh, that hit the spot. Only people who use or can use life magic can hear her voice. So, that means you can or have been taught how to handle life magic at one point in your life. That memory stone is the key to figuring that out.” Vivian pointed at the stone in Fang’s hand.
Fang looked down at the stone as he squeezed it. “So, then how do I get my memories back? This was something my father did, not me.”
Vivian took another gulp of the wine. “TO be honest boy, Wolf can do the same as well as Kora. She was the one who taught your father and Demora how to erase memories temporally, not permanently. That is another matter altogether.” Vivian took and swig before she leaned back and smiled, “Your grandmother was a force to be reckoned with. But we are here to get your lost memories back.”
Fang looked at the stone as he stared at it for a long while before Lora tapped his shoulder. Fang jumped, releasing the orb. “Lora, do not do” The sphere hit the ground and shattered, Fang felt his whole body suddenly pulse as his head began to swirl with his memories as they returned.
Fang fell to the ground as his head felt like it was going to explode as he remembered everything at once. Lora stepped back as she became afraid of Fang’s demeanour. Fang clenched his teeth as Vivian wave at Lora to her side. Then Fang felt aa sharp pain crushing his head and screamed in agony. As he flailed on the ground. Punching the ground to try and ease the pain.
Fang eventually felt relief as the pain diminished. “So, what do you remember?”
Fang sat up as he looked at his hands. “All the people I killed in the name of my grandfather. As well as the friends that I killed with my own hands. Every time I would argue with my father about my choices, he erased the pain. AS if to help me see the error of what I was doing.” Tears began to stream down his face. “He also did everything he could to make me forget about my mother as she argued with him. She wanted me to be like her. I also remember one time where my father dropped the Ren-Ky jewel of balance, and the Onyx side started to glow.”
“Vivian leaned forward as she narrowed her eyes, “Good, good, what else can you recall?”
Fang closed his eyes, “I can recall Mama K teaching me the family summons but found that I could not summon them. She was puzzled as to why and left me after the twentieth time my father erased my memories? After that, he stopped as his effort was taking priority. Mama K erased my last memories as they were of when my father was cursed and became Azoth.”
Vivian sighed as she handed him the wine, “Here this helps, trust me. You just went thru a lot. Plus, to think Kora erase one memory form you as to ease your pain. I am guessing she told you to search for the goddess’s reincarnation after that day?”
Fang took the bottle and took a giant sip. “Yes, if it were not for her, I would never have actually found my calling. I always thought I was to become the Ren-Ky of balance, but I now see that my younger brother was right to choose me as the one for the Darkness of Life.” Fang took and drink before handing the wine back to Vivian. “And to relive those memories, I am glad my father did everything he could to change me. If not, I would not be here right now.”
Vivian grinned as Lora moved closer to Fang. “And now we know that you were rejected by the four. It is a shame, but the question now is who as the right to summon them? I mean, ten thousand summons would have been under your command. Your father failed as well, but what if your late brother was able to summon them? Then what? He might have been able to take this war head-on and won in less than a week with their power.” Vivian took a long drink as she glanced at Fang.
“True, but what these four you speak about?” Fang asked as he reached for the bottle.
Vivian handed him the bottles but held on as he looked her in the eye, “The four are the sacred summons. The scarlet Phoenix, Scarlett, the Azure Dragon, Arthur, the Black Tortoise, Kuro and the White Tigress, Yuki. These four have been with your family since Uriel Krisnik. The founder of the Krisnik clan and the last prince of the Kingdom of Altoriana.”
Fang stared at Vivian as she let go of the bottle. “Wait, we have that kind of power within our heritage?”
Vivian nodded as she saw Lora lay her head on Fang’s lap. “Well, your training for today is done. Rest for now as I will think of your next task. Zero has a longer road than you as he has to learn a whole new way of fighting. Your mother was always a prick.”
