Fourteen days passed since THnderhead hatched as he watched Gale and the other go about their business. Nevada strolled over as he sat down, wining as he watched his partner leave.
“Thunder stay here with Nevada. We will be back later.” Gale called out as he left.
Thunder looked around to see and open window but looked back to see Nevada mopping as he laid down. Thunder looked around to see if there was another entrance when he noticed an old dog door behind a potted plant. Thunder yipped for Nevada to come over to him.
Nevada perked his eas towards Thunder as he turned to see what was going on. He noticed Thunder dashing in and out from behind the plant and went to go investigate. Thunder started to push the plant out of the way as Nevada watched him before the plant began to teeter. He raced to stop it from falling as he pushed it upright. Both Nevada and Thunder sighed as they looked at the dog door.
Thunder pushed the door as it moved is let out a loud screech. Nevada shook his head as Thunder continued to push it open. Nevada looked over to see the outside as he began to wage his tail in excitement. Thunder pulled away as to know if it would close, but it stayed put. Nevada walked over as he wriggled through the hole.
Nevada found himself outside as Thunder move quickly to his neck, to stay warm. Nevada noticed the threes beyond the yard as he started to creep over, Thunder nipped his ear as to stop him as he directed Nevada towards the front. Nevada wined as he did as Thunder had asked of him.
Nevada continued to walk as he noticed a strange thing. Tilting his head, he noticed the man who had him captive sneaking around. Nevada growled quietly as Thunder turned to see what he was growling at. His eyes narrowed as he caught sight of him.
Nevada looked back to see Thunder nodding his head as to follow. Nevada nodded his head and began to follow the man. The man walked out of town and into the forest. Nevada looked back, thinking it would be best to get their masters. Thunder hissed and nipped Nevada’s ear, pointing to continue following.
Nevada looked back once more, realizing it would be too late as he would slip away before help would come. He pressed forward as she sniffed out the man’s scent. Nevada picked up the trail and dashed off in search of him.
Nevada stopped and jumped to the right and hid behind a tree, wining quietly he asked Thunder to take a look. Thunder nodded as he crawled around the tree to see the man at his camp. He had six other pups in cages, and a mating pair of Winter Direwolves chained up. Thunder hissed as he returned to Nevada.
He hissed and growled quietly as Nevada start to growl. He turned to glance at the encampment to see that the man was shaking one of the cages. Upsetting the mother wolf. Nevada could not help himself as he rushed in and bit the man on the leg. Thunder rushed up and started to claw out the man’s eyes.
The man flailed as he was blinded and injured. Nevada growls, telling Thunder to release the pups and the a.d.u.l.t pair. The man went to grab a weapon, but Nevada moved to his arm and tore his hand up before snarling loudly as the man faced Nevada. He could not see him as he stood over him, waiting for Thunder to give him the okay.
Thunder finished releasing the wolves as he jumped back onto Nevada’s back and wrapped himself around his neck Nevada nipped the air in front of the man as he screamed. Catching the attention on nearby hunters. Nevada ran off before they arrived as the two made their way back to town with the wolves they saved. Nevada noticed that the pup he was shaking was injured, and the parents were exhausted as they made it to the village entrance.
Thunder looked around and found a man treating a dog and tugged Nevada to him. Nevada looked over as he started to yip for the man’s attention. The man looked over to see them.
“Oh, my? Why is wrong littleOh dear, thank you. I will help then.” Then the man turned to the owner of the dog and asked for help as he rushed over. The man noticed blood in Nevada’s fur as he started to leave. “Wait, you are hurt let me take a look at you.”
Nevada licked his muzzle as he buried his nose in the snow as to get the blood off, showing the man he was alright. The man paused as he could see Nevada was alright before racing back home.
Nevada and Thunder carefully moved the pot back as Gale, and the others returned home. Nevada yawned as he curled up by the fire with Thunder right beside him. Zephyr walked over and stroke Nevada’s fur.
“How was your day, boy?” Zephyr asked him as he lifted his head and wagged his tail at her. “It seems you had quite a lazy day. I will fetch you some meat.”
Zephyr stood up as Nevada waited for her to call her over as Thunder raced to Gale’s neck as to rub himself all over. Gale groaned as he pushed Thunder back. “Yes, yes, I missed you too, now stop it. I have to help Mopsa right now.”
Nevada looked at Thunder and yipped as he raced back. Thunder curled up once more onto Nevada as they waited for their masters to finish.
